Brilliant Alec, than for letting us know. We have been really unsure whether people would like our videos with less production and more interaction between us. This is great for us to read, thank you.
Thank you for another enjoyable video! I agree with you about the museum in Cobh; I found it to be well done and educational. I’m one of the 35 million US citizens of Irish decent, some of whom sailed out of this port.
Guys, lovely relaxed video. Well done. Cobh pronounced Cove. It’s directly from the Irish language. ‘Bh’ pronounced as ‘v’ as in the name Siobhan. There are approximately 22 letters in the Irish language so we use an accent similar to the French language. Ours called a fada meaning long. You might see this on our street signs or again with Irish names. Seán pronounced with the long awe sound. Sinéad similar with ‘A’ sound. Hope you enjoyed your visit 😎
I really enjoy this format and have loved the Ireland series. I wish you both a very happy Christmas and look forward to more of your adventures in 2025.
As an Irish man living away from home. I really enjoy your Irish Videos. I see so many English couples who give out because they cannot buy cheap Chinese’s and fish and chips. Usually they go in no where if money has to be spent. You do it so well. The Irish people would really take to you guys. Thank you for the lovely videos. I’m from Dungarvan in Waterford. A beautiful costal town. Anyway keep making the videos. I love how respectful you both are and that you read the history and are interested in everything. ❤
Pronounced Cove guys. Lots to do in Cobh. Beautiful buildings, including the wonderful cathedral. Busy most days, but ye struck a quiet one. Spike Island is very interesting..Fota wildlife park...etc etc etc..tons to do and see. Train into the beautiful city of Cork. Come cack to Cobh and Cork city and county.
Another great video! Cheers ! Kissed Blarney Stone in March1987. The grounds surrounding the castle were incredible. “The rock close” with the druid remnants were amazing. We were the only ones there during our visit and I don’t remember there being an entrance fee.
Probably become a lot more commercial since you were there Travellinman. We enjoyed it for what it was anyway so that's good. Appreciate your comment as ever.
We are 100% more relaxed than before. Sarah is loving the process now when before she got a bit annoyed at my perfectionism when recording. This has improved how we travel hugely. Thanks for the lovely comment.
What a mixed bag of comments this episode has produced. Extra entertainment value for free. Can't please everybody but like Sarah hints, we like this style best!
Thank you Beth. What we have in mind when making these is that you are there right with us. No 'presenting', more naturally talking to a friend. Sarah is funny though eh :-)
Everyday's a school day Sarah! And I was thinking just before you spoke, packed lunch clip coming now. Wrong again! Just when you think you know somebody?!
Yes you were wrong there lol. We let you down :-) BTW, we're getting so many comments that it is tough to keep up. I know you commented on 2GoRoam last week about being impetuous? I think that was it. Been meaning to get to it but I will quickly explain here. I think that I am impetuous by nature and that is something that I always have to temper. The one interesting thing to note is that when we put everything on RUclips often they can seem like we are switching things up all the time. In reality, things are a lot slower... The one thing we were impetuous on was the house in Spain but fortunately it has turned out to be a massive success for us. We are going to talk about that on the channel early in the new year when we make a Budgeting video. But you nailed me totally by saying I am impetuous! Sarah less so... as such, I have to build guardrails around my decisions and the older I get, the more control I have on that. Well spotted! Have a good Christmas!
@2GoRoamTravels Look forward to the Spain info. I think it's a sensible way for us to go. I don't expect a reply but it's nice to get them. I comment for the algorithm and see it a a bit like seating people at the front of an empty restaurant!
Neil and Sarah. I found you by chance when you started your tour of Ireland. I live in fife now but lived in Belfast for 46 years so was curious to see what you thought of the place that made me the person I am today. Gotta say I live these videos you do, informative, interesting and easy watching. My favourite part has been when you went out for a meal in derry city centre. Good luck and hopefully one day you'll do a tour of fife... BTW Dunfermline has got a great real ale pub with top notch food. Totally not a hint lol.
We will for sure be doing a tour of Scotland, not in 2025 sadly as we have other plans. Thanks for letting us know that you love these style of videos!
I like it. I thought they're walking! Car park must have been dear! I drove up the driveway at chirk castle (NT) and then reversed all the way back down it fearing the price. Then walked two miles each way. It was a free car park!
@@2GoRoamTravels While I have you, as a follower now for a good while, I was thinking about Italy and then thought that I had not seen any content from you guys on anywhere in Italy. Is this correct? No Italy?
I think €2.20 would be a fair price for Blarney Castle rather than €22. It's privately owned and doesn't contain anything of particular interest. Keep your euros for elsewhere is my advice. p.s. Keep to the new style, it make happy moment for me.
I have always liked your videos, but I really like these recent videos even more. That's my 2 cents. Thank you for making them. PS.... I think 22 euros each is a LOT to pay for the Blarney Castle.
Thank you so much. Not everyone will like them but it seems there are enough of you that do which is great because this is just how we like to record these days. Best wishes.
Disagreeing with another commenter, I like the music, I think it's well chosen. Shame you didn't get your roast dinner. We do have them here on a Sunday, too. If you're goggling to find one, its usually called a carvery.
Yes guys, your videos are absolutely fun and beautiful uploads, thank you both. Cobh is pronounced as Cove, like you both correctly stated. I would be just like you guys, my brain doing a balancing act to see if something is worth it or not. Yes, we do the Sunday Roast here too, most of us go for the Roast Beef each Sunday and a Turkey for Easter and different Bank Holidays. Just a quick note, many Irish people would not say a Potato Famine or Famine, as it was more genocide than anything else. Thank you both, keep up the great work, and love and hugs from Ireland to our beautiful British neighbours, thank you both again xxxx
Hey Kate, Useful background there! We didn't find a Roast that day sadly but you can be sure we'll be back in Ireland. Genocide, we understand that totally. I think in the video I mention that I saw some shocking things. It was when I read that food was being produced and sent overseas while people at home were dying that took the wind out of me. All the very best to you Kate.
Cheers Larry. We try to get a balance when doing that. We aren't ever going to get it just right for everyone but your view is noted for the future, thank you.
I'd like to have watched your video but you immediately placed so-called 'Northern ireland flags over the Northeast of the country. I'd have been happy if you'd have shown no flags at all but if you were going to, only our National flag for the whole country is acceptable to me
Pre 1973 N.I. flag on an old map for illustration purposes I'd guess? He's not Dan Cruickshank or the history channel! And it wouldn't be correct to show the tricolour flag of Ireland over that area anyway? Enjoy your Christmas.
Hi Neil can you do me a favour, please ditch the music as it is quite annoying 😑 it's 7 million population and Cobh = Cove , Fermoy I like your content but this style of music is very twee it would be like Morris dancer music on an English tour or bagpipes in Scotland..... Bh is v ...
Understood Drew, only issue is they are already uploaded but hopefully the music won't annoy you too much and you can still enjoy them for what they are. All the best.
This style of content is perfect for you both, relaxed and very much shows how well you enjoy each others company as well as funny at times.

Agreed totally!

Yes. know your history, but live in the present
John says it perfectly. It is important to know the history but also to look forward. Didn't know you have visited Cobh. Hope you are well Denise!
I enjoy these type of videos. You can tell you are relaxed and having fun travelling. Thanks for taking us all along with you.
Thank you! We really are enjoying this so much more than before. Appreciate your comment.
Our successful running Sonia O’Sullivan is from Cobh. Also Roy Keane played for Cobh Ramblers before his trip to Nottingham.
Great video guys, looks like Ireland is very interesting and the food seems excellent

It's pronounced COVE (Cobh). I agree that €22 is way too expensive.

Great video Neil and Sarah 👍😁
Glad you enjoyed it Carol!
I prefer thus style of video over your previous mire scripted ones. It helps me get a better sense of what the places are really like to visit.
Thank you Anna, that is what we hope you to get. Remove the filter and show it as it is and how we are actually doing it. Appreciate your comment.

Luckily the walk wasn't too long. I always think twice when I see a barrier lol.

Correct! But that could well change in 2025!
Read about the Empress of Ireland who sank (a fait naufrage in French) in the St. Lawrence River in Québec. More than 1,000 people died.
Horrific. We are guilty of not knowing the history and it really was upsetting.
Thanks for getting in touch Suzanne.
Love the new video.
Thank you so much, we appreciate it.
Excellent
Thank you!

Ah stop, most would just say the Famine. The consequence was more a clusterfeck of greedy selfish incompetence, not a genocide.
