    When different manufacturers make their implementation of the same chip, the implementation should be evaluated. Technical data concerning the sensor is the same for all of them and only differs at the behest of the corresponding marketing department.
    ZWO clearly follows a plug-and-play strategy, whereas QHY demands more expertise from the user. In return, QHY also offers more options.

      I can't agree more.
      I have been using this camera now for two years, with no hick-up (actually non at all).
      It is truly plug and play.
      The fan is how ever of "not the best quality" but not a fault per se.

    Where is the readout modes? QHY has 4 modes before, now it has 6 modes

      Exiting, did not know they had updated the firmware with more modes. I did how ever buy the ZWO in the end.

    In the UK, Altair Astros 26C is waaaaaay cheaper than both these efforts by over £600/700 so its a no brainer the imx 571 26C.

      Wow, that is a huge difference. I have also seen that Touptek, and Player one cameras are growing in popularity. In my point of view, it all comes down to firmware and driver stability :)

    A question that you did not address is diameter. That matters to RASA and Hyperstar configurations.
    Another issue is that at least one of these vendors has multiple models (e.g. a "Pro" version) for the same sensor.

    I've just got the 268C, haven't had a chance to test it because of weather conditions - maybe tonite. But I've choosen it over the 2600 because of the read out modes and more RAM
    I have a Pegasus PPBADV so I don't need the extra USB 2.0

    Qhy also includes a power supply, zwo doesn't.

    QHY software / Drivers is its most negative point.At all both used the same sensor maybe some defference between electronics!

    • @ExoPhotography1
      @ExoPhotography1  3 года назад +1

      Yes, I am running a remote observatory so it is top priority for me with stable drivers, and as the sensor is the same, the basic specifications should be very similar.

      I can agree with you, as that is the main selling point for the QHY, but unfortunately I don't know in detail how the different read out modes works "under the hood" as this is a software / driver solution.

    Hi there. I initially went with the ZWO brand as at the time the software/drivers was considered more stable/reliable and wider compatibility. The situation may be different now 1yr on, don't know as haven't looked further. The hub on camera helps with guide camera as well as filter wheel.

      Sorry, should have said it was the 2600 colour I have, not the mono, but don't think it changes anything.

    • @ExoPhotography1
      @ExoPhotography1  3 года назад

      I have read that as well, but I believe that QHY has been stepping up lately on the software side, might not be a deal breaker for me though.

    Hi would you please answer me as soon as possible on these 4 questions as I am about to make a decision on this camera, please…
    1. Will the Astrinomik L2 UV IR cut 2 inch work with the QHY268C camera?
    2. Are there adapters in box to be able to attach a 1.25 filter Optilong LExtreme (even though I know a bit of vignetting will occur)
    3. Will it hook up to the Original Esprit 120 Field Flattener out of the box with included adapters?
    4. Will some of the ZWO adapters fit on to the QHY268C
    Thank You, Jane

    • @ExoPhotography1
      @ExoPhotography1  3 года назад +2

      Hi, i will try to answer them at my best :)
      1. The color versions have built in UV filter I presume, you might wanna check that up closer. If that is the case, it might be unnecessary for you to use a second one.
      2. I think it is delivered with a 2” nosepiece, not 1,25” as that would be to narrow and cover the chip.
      3. I don’t know how the Esprit 120 is equipped in the focused end (2” thumb screws or threads)
      4. I do not think they will as the connection at the camera is brand-specific.
      If you want to use some kind of extension (M42 or M48) the threads are “industry standard” and will fit.

      @@ExoPhotography1 A question: Do both manufacturers have software that allows 2x2 and/or 3x3 binning when not in focus mode?

    • @ExoPhotography1
      @ExoPhotography1  3 года назад +1

      @@derekbaker3279 i do not know since I use Maxim DL via Ascom, and not the software provided with the manufacturer, but I would think they do offer binning, at least 2x2.
      The binning is not limited of the telescope / camera being in focus or not.
