Time, Love, Dreams and Death - all four chapters have been unveiled. Now begins the true End of an Empire.
After a year long production cycle, Celldweller has been slowly revealing bits and pieces of his third full length, studio artist album, which showcases a return to the more formative complex electronic and heavy metal elements that defined the unique hybrid that is Celldweller. I personally love the first album the most, but EVERY artist changes and grows over the course of their career. That's the whole point of progress, time, and age. If they don't, and they just stagnate instead, then people/fans will quickly get tired of hearing the same basic song/formula repackaged over and over again. That's a great way to lose fans and be quickly forgotten. Everything changes with time or gets left behind (literally becoming history).

A nice break from the incredibly well-crafted seven-minute masterpieces on the album. Sometimes all you need is an adrenaline-pumping, blood-boiling, high-energy guitar-driven track to liven things up a bit and this hits all the right spots.

I used to think Klayton's old stuff was 'better,' but I've realized that Klayton is simply a true artist. At no point in his career has he gotten complacent or stopped trying to reinvent himself.

I really don't understand how stingy people can be when it comes to Klaytons music as well as music in general. Have people not realized by now that Klayton doesn't stick to no particular style of music genre, length of music and type of sound? Do people want around 12 '7 minute lengthed songs' for the entire album all having the same 'dark themed' music? You guys are in the wrong place and the fact you haven't realized this by now is quite worrying. The creativity in his work would be so damn dull if that were the case, this is a nice change from all the longer more deeper songs.
That's what true creative freedom is. He just do what he likes to do. And that's awesome.

It's more that people know what they want, and if someone has shown they're good at making it they want them to make *more* of it. Klayton has no obligation to *listen* to them, and is free to do what he wants, but they are equally free to express their desire to have more of the music they like.
This song definitely will fit as a boss fight theme

Reminds me of Pendulum
They are fairly similar, though Pendulums vocalist (Rob Swire) tends to go for a more quiet and foreboding style of vocals whilst Klayton (Celldweller) is a lot more loud and direct.

DAMN, this song kicks such ass! It's so awesome how you and Bret (and actually the entire FiXT roster) can combine anything/everything cool from any/every genre of music (in this case, the punky guitar riff), throw it into a blender with such freaking-ly next-level production and make everything sound so state-of-the-art and modern. You guys are to me what The Beatles on Ed Sullivan or Jimi Hendrix at Monterey or Phil Spector's Wall of Sound were to other generations. When I was a little kid in the 70s listening to rock music and everything was so sludgy- and bluesy- sounding, I used to imagine what the music of the future would sound like, and thanks to y'all, here it is -- modern, dynamic, explosive and jumping right out of the speakers with great hooks and pop sensibilities. So thanks for that! This and Bret's "Not Over 'Til We Say So" have now been in pretty much constant back-to-back rotation all weekend. Thanks for everything -- y'all are awesome.

It's a nice departure from the deeper, more developed stuff we've seen of End of an Empire so far. It's decent. I'm yet to hear a track that's on par with the black star album. It's hard to improve on perfection.

oldmanfromyork hmm ok, thats a matter of taste i guess. i am not that much into blackstar because it had too much dubstep stuff, i am personally way more a fan of rock and metal and so far this album delivers much more for me

Funny you should say that. I'm normally only into rock metal and industrial. But there's just something about blackstar. It's a special album.
