    Installed hand controls are the safest and easiest and most comfortable to use. I got SCI in 1981 and got my first vehicle in 1982 a Pontiac Gran Prix after I checked myself out of rehab. I have been using MPS Monarch right angle hand controls ever since in 5 vehicles 4 new and 1 used. They are the gold standard of hand controls.

    Best demo I found for these. Recently found myself in need of hand controls been driving for a LONG time worried I couldn't get used to using hand controls. One thing I learned quickly its easy to push both the gas and brake simultaneously-DON'T DO THAT! lol. I installed mine today and drove around block a a few times. not difficult. Thanks Rob.

    Robb!!! I am so happy for you!! Driving had become such a chore for me and my doctor got me a similar set of portable breaks bc she didn’t want me to lose my independence again. I can now enjoy driving again and when I get out of the car my legs aren’t exhausted!!! I am truly happy for you Rob!!!! I’m smiling hard over here for you!!!!

    ok i just tried mine for the first time.
    I think i prefer the peddlemaster.
    I let the quickstick rest in my lap to answer the phone and somehow it pushed the accelerator.
    good thing the car was in park.
    so it seems if you ever need to put the handle down it can be dangerous?
    Good Luck and thanks for the video.

    • @LifewithRobBrazius

    • @JB-ym6tc
      @JB-ym6tc 3 года назад

      @ nublackmusic how is the peddle master working for you? There ain’t much reviews or videos on them, I was thinking of getting those, much easier and faster to install I assume

    • @TheRealNewBlackMusic
      @TheRealNewBlackMusic 3 года назад +1

      @@JB-ym6tc I finally figured out the quick sticks. the trick is that it can not be in your lap.
      it must be installed to be on your right or left side.
      If you put it in your lap and you hit the brake it will sometimes accelerate . this should be stated in their instructions or on their website.
      the peddle master are easier to put on but if you have a vehicle with a cramped driver position the peddle master can also run the risk of both accelerator and brake being pushed.
      i hope to make a video on it soon.
      Peace!

    Why do shops charge an arm and a leg for hand controls? Most disabled people are on social security which means they have a very small income. It's frustrating. Also, can this be used as a permanent fix? I'm permanently disabled and I need something durable and long term.

    • @LifewithRobBrazius
      @LifewithRobBrazius  3 года назад +1

      I didn’t get to use these for a real long time because my disability progressed and now I don’t get behind the wheel anymore. From what I saw from the materials, the design and the workmanship: these are heavy duty and will withstand the test of time.

    Does the gas pedal clamp fit okay on the Subaru gas pedal? I was looking at my Forester and wasn't sure if the clamp would work.

    • @LifewithRobBrazius
      @LifewithRobBrazius  3 года назад

      Yes. It fit my Crosstrek’s pedal with no problem. By the looks of the design it seems to be universal. I attached it up from the bottom and then tightened down the clamps real well. It never budged once attached.

      @@LifewithRobBrazius Thanks for the reply! It's good to know that it fits on the Crosstrek, I was wanting to test drive one of those. My Forester has a bulky plastic piece on the back of the gas pedal (not sure if that is typical on all Subarus), so I was just curious. I just saw that QuickStick offers an adapter clamp as well so I am going to get that just in case. I am looking forward to trying these out!
