Wait...ending E...is kinda bullshit though. It makes the sacrifice and emotional impact of Ending D botherline meaningless. Its way too positive for the original Nier honestly.
It also predates Automata being made, and only didn’t make it into the original Nier due to budget constraints, so no, it’s very much in line with how Yoko Taro thinks things should’ve gone.

The original ends with such a unique concept, leaving the player speechless as they notice their character simply doesnt exist anymore. But with this new ending it just leaves an impact for 20 minutes before being retcon. Evil flower from Drakengard or not, it still kinda shit on the powerful ending of the original. For those who played the original, sure its a neat bonus, but for the new players it completly ruins the emotional impact the original final ending had.

It lacked closure on a lot of things and didn't provide any closure for Kaine. if you think about the stuff from Automata it makes sense there is some connection to the two since Taro said it was a sequel, the original ending gave no reason for Automata to be a thing and now with ending E we get the entire Taroverse completely connected through story. I find that way more pleasing!
Ending E is the original ending actually, years ago instead of putting ending E in the game they decided to release it as a novel, but now they finally put the true ending (E) of Nier replicant (that connects to automata) in the Game.
The Second Boss, Defense System Geppetto, is CopyPasted from "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" - "Gohdan, The Great Arbiter" (Tower of the Gods). There are always chances to have similar bosses in different games. But the second Boss in this game is ridiculously Copied. What a shame.
In your logic the final boss of donkey kong country returns would be a copypasted too, so I prefer to say that those bosses are inspiration for each other
