What is the difference between Alpha Bravo Monterey and Alpha Bravo Saratoga ? is it the same size ? what makes it different? because it looks the same identically, but the price bit expensive Monterey than Saratoga
I have the one with the slider instead of the rotary clasp as well, and wish mine had the clasp. It's still a great bag, but I do wish it could be retrofitted to have the rotary clasp.
Good review. Some constructive criticism from a viewers point of view: 1. We don't need to see so much of your home decor or your full body in the frame. Since you're doing a product review you should focus on the product. Bring the camera closer to the bag. Or possibly pan the camera out during the intro and wrap-up only, with the main part of the review focused on the bag. 2. It'd be nice to see how some every day items fit in this bag. You mentioned a few items but since you're making a video and not writing a blog I think it'd be nice to see it. I think this is one of the most helpful thing you could demonstrate. Show how an iPad mini/Air/Pro, MacBook, Android tablets, DSLR cameras, smaller fixed lens camera, fit in the bag. These are common items that a lot of people out there are interested to know if and how it will fit if they purchase this bag. Tumi isn't very descriptive about this on their product page other than stating dimensions which can be a little misleading in terms of how they go about measuring. For example, they measure width from the far extremes of the bag and not necessarily just the back pocket. Some updates for 2016: It looks like Tumi has re-named the Monterey Sling to the Saratoga Sling. I know a lot of people complained that you couldn't fit a larger iPad in here with a case so it looks like Tumi has added 2" to the width. They have also added 0.5" to the height. I'm not sure if this went into affect last year or this year; either way it's definitely a good thing. In general a lot of the medal elements were removed (zippers, tag, tag holder, on some models the zipper pulls), which is really nice because it reduces weight, cost, and noise. For 2016 there is a new color called Smoke Character which removes medal zipper pulls and replaces them with leather pulls. One of the biggest annoyances I have with bags is the jingly sound from the zipper pulls so this is a very welcoming feature (The other colors for 2016 still have medal zipper pulls). I hope this helps someone looking into getting this bag and being confused with Tumi's re-naming of this product. As far as I know there isn't currently a video on RUclips reviewing the new 2016 Saratoga Sling. Hopefully TheBagGuy will post one soon. Peace.
Great Vid. You helped me decide on the 2014 model. I am looking to put a softshell rain coat or DSLR with a zoom lens in it for short day trips while vacationing in Europe. Could you give me something to compare if they can fit in there? ie two 1 liter Coke bottles side by side or one 2 liter Coke bottle...
Hello. I think they listened to you, I just purchased an alpha bravo saratoga which happens to be basically your optimized version of the 2014. Congrats keep up loading videos.
Gabe, impressive review on the subtle, but important details on the bags' difference. I ended up purchasing the 2015 model (because of the larger size) and solved the strap comfort issue by installing a rotary clip, so now I have the best features of both bag in one. Question for you: I need a bag that is semi-formal for work (much like these Tumis) that can hold a 12" or 13" laptop. I prefer a sling bag, but not looking for a full size messages bag. Any recommendations? Thanks!
I am choosing style over functionality, and currently I need to tote around a MacBook Pro 13.2". I really like the size of the Monterey sling, but unfortunately it is about a inch to narrow.
You are going to need a messenger. Simply for the size of the laptop. I just pick up the Tumi Madden Brief www.tumi.com/p/madden-brief-063001B But since you said you didn't want a full messenger the Seneca Slim Brief would be my choice. www.tumi.com/p/seneca-slim-brief-063000B?cs=true I choose the Madden over the Seneca because I have the Tumi Earle Compact brief www.tumi.com/p/earle-compact-brief-0222610HK2 and I wanted a full size messenger/brief that offered space, and style that I cjould relax on the backpacks and take on trips with me. The Earle Compact brief might be good for you also. I have a review on this one.
Thanks for the suggestions, although, I currently use leather Bosca and Salvatore Ferragamo messenger bags for formal business (very clean lines with attention to detail and finish). The Tumi Monterey has a very flexible style appearance that can be used for semi-formal work to out on the town evening/touring. I am looking for this mix, just slightly larger. Your suggested bags are great for business, but I could not see myself using them on the weekend touring around. Still looking though...
Get your hands on a Briggs & Riley piece. I have had several Tumi products. I've turned to Briggs & Riley as they are very well designed and now feel that Tumi is just too fancy for me. Respectfully. IMO.
+Mackie B I don't know if it is the same bag. But, I just got the Tumi Gyro abbott sling. It looks similar? I fit my iPad air 2 and my macbook 12 inch and they fit with room to spare.
U gotta do some zoom shot dude, people cant even see the details of the bag, i suggest u to shoot 4k resolution because u can do some zoom in the editing
Thanks for the review. I like the metal name tag on the 2014, but the 2015 looks so much better. It is worth it to be uncomfortable sometimes, especially when it comes to fashion. I always choose style over comfort.

What is the difference between saratoga and monterey?

Thank you for the video. I cannot find this bag anywhere. Is there a place where they sell this Monterey bag? It’s such a nice sling bag.
Ebay
Is there an updated 2016 version?
the slide is not to make it tighter to your body but to carry the bag either left or right side of your body :)

Also what kind of laptop?
