    I do not like having the mains ontop of the other wires. I would have just installed a disconnect on the outside of the house so I could have ran the mains first.
    Then when you move the temp power you only need to bring it to the disconnect on the outside.

    Why didn't you put the under ground cable in plastic weather protected conduit?

  • @irishtino1595

    Great video guys! I was wondering why you don't have to fun conduit for the entire trench. I live in a state where we are required........ so I may have answered the question.

    What was that 3rd smaller conduit coming out of the meter breaker box?

  • @user-fp3oc9bx7z
    @user-fp3oc9bx7z 3 года назад

    Do you have to have 200 amps breaker for triplex ? If not, do you still need to add a ground to your run ?

    Now that it is the second panel, is it considered a sub panel which is not bonded, or is it the main panel and should be bonded?

  • @marcos22571

    So I see you only used conduit ehen you buried it underneat the roadway. Did you use conduit from the box out in the street to the well house box?

    Why do you have two main disconnects? Shouldn’t the panel in the house be a 200 amp sub panel?

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  6 лет назад

      Calen Shackleford The meter base up on the pump house is considered a permanent remote meter. The reason there are two main cut outs is because I wanted him to be able to have a main power switch in his house. I think it’s a little bit safer for someone who’s not really familiar with electrical.

    Was there a requirement to install a grounding rod for the house panel. Some areas require 2 rods bonded to the panel.

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  6 лет назад +1

      vipleather Yes we had to have two rods 6 feet apart at the house pannel

    Are you running conduit under the driveway so you have easy access in case you need to do power repair later.

  • @johnsta83
    @johnsta83 6 лет назад +1

    You aren’t required to place with wires in conduit to the house?

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  6 лет назад +1

      nope, that is triplex wire, did is rated for direct barrel. any runs over 100' don't require it.

    In the remote panel do you have to separate the grounds and neutrals like in a sub panel?

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  6 лет назад

      Justin 95 I did separate them because the panel I have has both neutral and ground bar, I don’t know that it’s actually required though

    • @illestofdemall13
      @illestofdemall13 4 года назад +1

      @@DanielWoodell Grounds and neutrals are only supposed to be together at the first point of disconnect here in the US.

    How far is the run from the meter panel to the house panel? What gage wire are each of the conductors?

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  6 лет назад

      optymaxx Its about 100 feet there are very specific rules and regulations on the distance that you can run the wire for the panel to the house. I recommend that you refer to your local county and L&I instructions. I believe it is two gauge wire but don’t quote me on that. At the local hardware stores that we buy the wire at their only two choices wire for mobile homes and work for houses to it is very easy to dug the right thing.

      If it's 200 amps it should be 4/0 cable,if you have large motor loads like your HVAC system and a larger water pump like over 1hp then a 250mcm for voltage drop. By the way ox inhabited are not required by the NEC. Today's aluminum is an alloy not the old aluminum of the past. Looks like a good job well done.

  • @PowderMill

    Invest in a good TORQUE WRENCH for the lug tightening (NEC REQ. NOW).

    Do most people build there own houses from where you live?

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  7 лет назад

      Nope most people just buy a house that is already built. or have a builder build them a house.

    People always hire a reputable electrical contractor in you area there are many bad contractors out there certified but not qualified, basically in it for the money , to many unskilled guys out there.

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  6 лет назад +2

      So I’m the home owner and all of my electrical work gets inspected by L&I, I don’t really understand are you trying to imply that this was done incorrectly?
