Because of your channel and others, I plan on donating part of my taxes next year, to these old DNA cases that need assistance in being solved. I decided that the answers that a family needs and that a victim deserves, far outweigh random stuff I won’t remember by the end of the year. ❤🕊️
It is wonderful that an unidentified murder victim was finally identified after so many years. Hopefully law enforcement is getting close to figuring out what happened to her and will be able prosecute her killer.
Thank God for Othram and others. People are now getting answers they could not get 40 or even 30 years ago. It's amazing. DNA does not lie. Thanks Gabby.
Thank you for covering these stories. It’s nice more John and Jane Does are getting their identity’s back after many decades. Keep up the great work Gabby and have a great rest of your night. Take care!
So cool you're from Volusia Gabby! I'm in Jacksonville. I've spent lots of time in Volusia. 👍❤ R.I.P Bobbie Jo. Your case will be solved now, prayers it happens.
Agreed!!! I recently moved back to Volusia County and is currently working here. You’re totally right. It’s beautiful, but I literally hate it here. This is just a stepping stone. I’ll be leaving as soon as I can
There’s a real sadness, too. There are so many people who came for bike week or spring break and never left, who also think it’s perpetually 1986. Lots of dr(g$, too.
@@tiyjtry Jacksonville if you want to stay in FL. That’s my home base. It’s not a tourist destination, there are tons of different niche areas depending on your vibe. I refer to my stay in Volusia as if I was in prison. It is really sad how historic and hyped Daytona used to be. Gotta grow with the times though.
So happy that Roberta was finally identified. Now let’s get the man identified. Although not a big donation, but I gave some towards his case. Hopefully this channel will provide the rest of the funds needed.
It’s so bittersweet every time the person is finally reunited with their name. Just small detail, I think it’s a bit more respectful to put their name in the title of the video… after all they are not “human remains” and not Jane Doe anymore
As always, you did a great job sharing this young woman’s story, Gabby. At least her children have some closure after all these years. Hopefully, the John Doe can be identified as well. Thank you for making us aware of those who cannot speak for themselves.
Great video. Just popped into the comment section to let you know I’ve been watching you for about 5-6 years now and always enjoy listening to you you describe these cases with compassion. Keep up the good work.
you are awesome, gabby, both in your quest to give the unknown their names back, and the humanitarian who truly cares for all people. thank you for your tireless work😊
Thank you so much for not just being a voice for the victims of these older cases, but also working with an amazing team to help solve them. Your work is much more than just storytelling.
Wow, I was surprised when I saw Volusia County because I’ve lived here my whole life. I had no idea you were born here too! I just recently subbed to your channel. Some local cases I’ve always hoped to see covered are Michelle Parker (Orlando) and the XBOX mur*ers (Deltona) Just throwing it out there in case 😊 Thanks for the great video!
Do you know that in Australia we have Universities doing exactly the same thing and they are used by International Law Enforcement including Scotland Yard? We are very good at Forensic Medicine.
I grew up in Daytona (in the 60's and 70's), so I also have a soft spot for these stories. Thank you for sharing. I enjoy your content and the way you speak. You're lovely inside and out. It comes through when you talk about the victim's family. Take care and best wishes for continued success.
I love it when you do 2 cases in one video! Also is this the same county where the boy in 1972 was found and is still unidentified! The second case I think he’s an immigrant from Latin America
Hello from the UK ❤ I love listening to your missing persons videos. Also, the solved ones. These bring peace to so many, in so many ways❤. I do wish, that the UK would use genetic genealogy to give families peace. Thank you for bringing awareness to these cases ❤
Hey Gabby! So cool that the cases were so close to you! It must seem pretty surreal! I love that you do vintage cases, for some reason, they seem less disturbing. And I love the Jane Doe cases being solved with new DNA technology! ❤
That's not to say anything about bikers being responsible, just to point out the added influx of people from all over the country coming to town. That year they had one of the largest, if not the largest Bike Week parade in the history of the event.
Your publications are always interesting and the amount of time you put into your work shows in the productions. What is even more impressive is that your overall quality of work improves monthly. Michael, Marvin is the name of my race car.
Well done, Othram. So pleased that Bobbie has her name back and her sister and children finally have some answers. Next step is to find who committed this awful crime.
A few years ago there was talk of a serial killer, but I guess nothing came of it. So many people come and go either transient or visitors, that there is no surprise when one turns up murdered in your old home town. Glad you can plug a crowd funded case like this one.
The reconstructions never look anything like the actual people. No wonder no one ever identifies their missing loved ones from these 'reconstructions'.
With AI it will get better. If we use photos of people when they were alive and their skull we can train a language model to make much more accurate recreations. Stuff like that is the good part of AI.
Thank you for the update! Please don't assume we already know because I miss a lot of updates and missing people found/identified. I feel like I'm always the last to know..haha..many creators don't revisit cases to see if there's been updates. Trace Evidence does..and you..but not many.
Yay! Was looking for something good to watch and there was my favorite true crime gal. Looking beautiful as always Gabby, thank you so much for the amazing content❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi gabby💘💘!! I love your videos and I’m so thankful for all you do and helping solve cold cases! When you mentioned hits home, it reminded me of all the unsolved murders here in the Texas killing Fields. There were over 30 bodies found, and many cases are still unsolved from the 70s -90s. It would mean so much if you could cover any of the unsolved cases🥰
I really enjoy your channel. Very informative and always very respectful of the content. And on a side note, you are so beautiful. Loving the shorter hair on you!
You should get in touch with Derrick and Stephanie at crime weekly podcast they’re always looking for cases to help fund with their fundraising from their coffee company .
She was BEAUTIFUL, those reconstructions def did her no justice! Although the first one looked more similar, albeit creepier. The second reconstruction looked like a totally different person. Its so interesting how remains can be interpreted. If I were to guess, the second reconstruction prob was done via computer.
My senses tell me she may have met someone during Bike Week rather than spring break. Bike week being first ten days of March. We had a serial killer in the area at that time. He was a biker. Gerald Stano, killed 88 women and from Ormond Beach. He was executed 20 years ago.
I lived in the area last year; from what I’ve been told, nearby Pierson gets a lot of migrant farm workers. If the Volusia Co. John Doe is suspected to be hispanic, he could’ve been a farm worker himself. While now there are much more hispanic families in Deland, I don’t know how many there might’ve been in the late 70s.
I think DNA agencies need to give discounts for unsolved murders, they could at least try doing aomething, like, let the schools that train the people to do DNA, do it for free or for nearly nothing. So much money goes to unnecessary things, they could set something up to help more! Of course, that's my opinion.
Also the other problem is Volusia PD has some serious Skeletons, Some of those cold cases are cold for a reason. (Not the ones in the video) - there was a era where the PD controlled, distributed, busted, arrested, and rereleased the drug cartels/drugs in the area (they are the reason we are meth central & where many of volusia's cold cases can be found around), there was a era the Russian Mafia infiltrated the PD (80's)(Still a very active mafia in the area), there was a era the KKK had infiltrated (60-70's) (they Coup the City of Daytona & actually took over the town for a while), the PD up until Sheriff Johnson was a corrupt mess (Late 90's) (ALLEGEDLY If you ask ANYONE who grew up during this) :/
That was my thought too. Do we have anyone else's corroboration that she actually left him or did he just say that? Seems a common occurrence in domestic disputes where the partner ends up missing, then dead.
If I had a dollar for every woman 1970's-2000 that disappeared and their significant other never reported it and family just thought "Yeah, I guess she just doesn't want to talk to us...for 40 years" Guys...it is extremely..extremely rare for an estranged family member to not talk to anyone for years. They always have contact with at least one family member on an annual basis. Look for family. Don't assume they're mad at you. I know that's not the case here..but this is just a reminder.
