I liked the "I want to be a part of development". It's kid of why I came here, too. Although I already had a connection - my father was born here (Gambia), left for Sierra Leone aged one, and grew up there, as did I - so, the adjustment wasn't too hard.
I can relate being born in UK to Caribbean Windrush parents never feeling that the UK was home. However, it is hard to feel at home in Africa also as we are viewed as “Toubub” or foreigners or “you people” even after being “welcomed home”. But we need to try & make a home somewhere. I too love Gambia & am learning Wolof to show respect to Gambians & the culture.
Looking forward to Kels documenting his project. Pity it didn’t take long for a local to refer to a Brotha (trying to return to the Motherland) as ‘You People’😢😢😢. Stay positive and let us know how your learning of new language (Mandinka or Wolof) progresses. Also be keen to see you try and comment on local foods and customs…….
@@eSSenceent10 thanks for pointing that out 👀🤔 …it even endorses it more that I chose to hide his identity for…well….let’s see what unfolds because I even don’t know how things will be revealed, but they will! Thank you 🙏🏿❤️
@@antonyford6225 thank you bro 🙏🏿 Antony, I think The Gambia have more important things to think about than frolicking, and only Caribbean ppl or those that embrace our culture will understand what our leisure gathering is truly about oppose to outsiders that come into pervert their way into an opportunity of pleasure.
@kelzross952 if the leisure gathering includes public girating and lewd sxual behaviour like Nottinghill carnival , its definitely not a good thing for Gambia. Females whining whilst males ( they dont even know ) whining behind onto them isnt what we want in AFRICA . Theres enough problems with sx tourism here... we dont want to add to it by displaying certain action to the children .
@kelzross952 Gd day. No , yu didnt say . Accpt my humble appology if i assumed wrong. However, it was/ is due to some of the stuff portrayed in th video footages that sparked my concern.

@Hi, I’m not sure what the argument is. Did I say, suggest or imply that Gambia should take on or embrace the Caribbean experience?
