  • The way in which data is transmitted from one place to another is called Data Transmission Mode
    Modes of Data Transmission
    Simplex
    Half Duplex
    Full Duplex
    Simplex
In this mode of transmission, data flows only in one direction from sending device to receiving device. It means that in this mode, transmission is unidirectional
    Example:
As CPU transmits data to the monitor and monitor can only receive the data and display it on screen
    Half Duplex
In this mode of transmission, data flows in both directions from sending device to receiving device and vice versa but only in one direction at a time
    Example:
A walkie-talkie is the example half duplex transmission mode .One user can talk at a given time and cannot communicate simultaneously
    Full Duplex
In this mode of transmission, data flows in both directions at the same time and allows bidirectional from sending device to receiving device and vice versa
It is the fastest mode of communication
    Example:
A regular telephone line supports full duplex transmission so that both the parties can speak and listen each other at the same time because the two way communicating link is involved between the two parties
