Especially when it comes down to international competition and getting players into the highest level leagues (NHL, AHL, heck even higher level leagues in Europe [SHL, KHL, etc.])! It feels like Germany seems to be one of the biggest underachievers in the world!
I lived in Germany for a year and went to my local division 2 team a couple of times and it was a great building and atmosphere (capacity 3,500). The Lanxess arena in Koln was beautiful! Was there for a couple of World Championship games and it most certainly would fit into the NHL for quality of arena. Great lighting and views.
I Love this Account! Im from germany (Berlin) and Hockey is my life... the content is Really good and there is a lot of variety in your Account. Really appreciate your work
"the lots of standing at the back" in Krefeld is actually the biggest terrace stand in german ice hockey. The arena isnt that old, it was built in 2004 but they wanted a "traditional" design to comfort the puristic fan base :D
You should make EBEL too, great league, more nationalities and a great variety, would be a very interesing video. I am more than happy to send you all of them inside/outside of the arenas if you would want :)
Go Bulldogs! and yeah, I love the older buildings too. My favourite team in the OHL has one where Canada beat the Soviets back in the 80's. It's a 1985 classic, but still a great building.
Lanxess Arena is the best (as well as the biggest.) It's also in Leon Draisaitl's hometown, I'm hoping the announced Oiler preseason game in Germany happens there. I noticed, by the way, that your German contact ordered the pictures in descending order of seat count.
10:00 have to admit the first picture was the "Olympia-Eissportzentrum" , (capacity 6.412) but the second picture was the "Olympiahalle (capacity 15.500) which is rarely used by the EHC München
only just discovered your videos and love them/subscribed! Dusseldorf's was my favourite, in particular I thought how 3 out of 4 sides of the lower bowl are all standing - very cool!
The thing in the sap arena was a speaker. It's not there anymore tho, because the Arena was renewed. New speakers, new Score clock, just a whole more modern.
I used to live in Germany and went to the Olympia ice stadium. I used to live in the Olympic village. I also went to a game away. Don't remember where exactly. It was Munchien's rivals. So maybe Dortmund? idk but we lived there during the NHL lockout. Erik Cole came to play in Berlin and others came too. Imagine a soccer crowd at a hockey rink. That was the atmosphere there.
Post2Post Nice video like always. Im from cologne germany and I can tell you our arena is a piece of Beauty. Its actually the 18th biggest hockey arena in the world.
The picture of the inside of the arena in munich isn´t the inside of the Olympia Eisstadion, but of the Olympia Hall. They only play two or three games in the big arena and this event is called 'Hockey Halleluja' (In german this is also a wordplay due to the German name of that building: 'Olympiahalle')
In the last couple of years the plaza in front of the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin has been completely redeveloped with shopping and restaurants. It's a bit corporate and soulless, but it does really enhance the game-night experience from the huge open space that used to be there before (the arena was built along the "Death Strip" where the Berlin Wall used to run). It's a great place to watch games as the sight lines are excellent and the atmosphere is electric.
Thanks for the comment! I'm actually not uploading content on this channel anymore, but I would love it if you could subscribe to my new channel Post2Post Productions where I am making more Hockey content! ruclips.net/user/post2postproductions
10:13 That photo is definitely NOT from inside the Eisstadion in Munich, where RedBull Munich plays. It's probably the Olympic Arena, so another one than the building you showed from outside.
The LA Kings own the Eisbaren Berlin and the Ontario Reign played that team and the German fans took up a whole section and we’re standing and cheering/singing the whole game.

Need to tell here a story about the fans: first round of the play off half finals: ehc munich vs Augsburger Panther. In munich. The fans you can hear through the over 100 min long game: augsburger panther fans

Munich was not the right foto from the outside. They have two stadiums, one for playoffs and Derbys and one for normal games. The foto from the outside is the smaller one for 6000. The second foto is the bigger one for 9000.

German hockey growing

The inside picture was from an alternative arena of Red Bull Munich not there regular arena

13:32 is so funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great video! I hope hockey continues to grow around here. Much love from Germany :)

Greetings from Germany. I am from Schwenningen 👊 and the biggest LA Kings fan from whole Germany. I like your videos. Keep on like this ✌
Great video! Pictures are quite rare of these because theres not enough space to take a decent picture of it ;) Keep on the great work!
Lanxess Arena is the biggest arena outside of North America
Lanxess Arena is the best (as well as the biggest.) It's also in Leon Draisaitl's hometown, I'm hoping the announced Oiler preseason game in Germany happens there.

Called it. :D
Germany has a lot of nice arenas, they all look cool but I think I like the inside of the ISS Dome the best.
10:00 have to admit the first picture was the "Olympia-Eissportzentrum" , (capacity 6.412) but the second picture was the "Olympiahalle (capacity 15.500) which is rarely used by the EHC München

KREFELD Pinguine Königspalast, now Yayla Arena, was build in 2004. If you cross the stree there is the Rheinlandhalle build in 1936...
The thing in the sap arena was a speaker. It's not there anymore tho, because the Arena was renewed. New speakers, new Score clock, just a whole more modern.

10:13 That photo is definitely NOT from inside the Eisstadion in Munich, where RedBull Munich plays. It's probably the Olympic Arena, so another one than the building you showed from outside.
the first arena with 2 different capabilities was 18k to live gigs and 12k to hockey
Congrats on 20k
