I have the EX30 Single Motor Extended Range - Ultra for just over 2 months now. Same here, I was quite sceptical about the placing of the speed display and buttons. Also after seeing some videos, it genuinely appears to be more luxurious and higher quality than this Volvo. On the other hand, EX30 is significantly faster (KIA says 7+ seconds for base version) and offers RWD instead of FWD. Lastly KIA was saying the EV3 should qualify for the full tax credit when it releases in 1-2 years.

Many of us have moved on. They flubbed the US launch, empty promises, missed deadlines, little to no comms. It's got too many cut corners and ultimately felt cheap in person. Cheaper than other EVs in this segment and way too cheap feeling for a Volvo. Problem is, when you spec it up, it can easily exceed $40k with no incentives - and there are a lot of options at the point. It will be interesting how they navigate the 100% tariff as well.
Some news. EX60 will be revealed in late 2025 and will ride on an update version of the SPA2 platform. It will be able to have an 800v system but it’s unclear if it will have one

Thank you for the review, but I’ll keep my Chevy Bolt. And when Bolt comes back in 2025/2026 with Ultium updates and has comparable DCFC to this Volvo the EX30 will be dead in the water.
