Hello Rob, family and friends I hope you are all well. If you are allowed to tell, what hide poles do you use? The ones I have bought in the past seem to fall apart after a short time. The locking screws don't stay locked and the plastic hooks at the top of the pole snap very easily. Thank you. Take care and stay safe everyone. Tim W, England.
Good choice of cartridge Rob, the Eleys are consistent in quality and good value price wise. I put them through my trusty Miroku o/u which is choked 1/4 & 3/8. Ditch the priest and put a decent stick in with the hide pole's, invaluable when gathering runners. 👍
Great shooting there but i was just wondering what the crow deycoys you use are called I have been looking for them everywhere and we’re did you get them from?
Hi Charlie, they are called Sillosock decoys but currently out of stock everywhere. Give me a message on social media and I’ll let you know when they’re available 👍👍
You’ve done it again rob another quality video you never disappoint you had some cracking shots there I use a sx3 with half choke and 30g 6s what is your favourite bird to shoot 👍
Keep them coming mate I learn so much from your videos that all I shoot atm is crow and got some of the silosocks and there working well for me . And is flappers any good for crow ??
Thanks mate, awesome to hear this 👍 I have never got on well with electrics and crows. Flappers and magnets have only worked well with pigeons from my experiences
7/8 or 1 oz of 8, 71/2 or 6 shot in 20. 1oz to 1 1/4oz of the same sizes in the 12. Usually a modified or full choke depending on how they decoy. I started experimenting with 1oz to 1 1/6oz of steel 4s as well.
My go too crow gun is a Franchi affinity with 1/2 teague super extended and hull superfast 32g 5.5 I also use a 11 shot benelli M2 when the shooting is constant again 1/2 teague super extended choke and the above cartridge
Thanks bud! I have never got on well with any electrics with crows.. have always found they hold back. Find electronics great for pigeons in the right weather conditions 👍
Another great video that encourage shooters! I am following your videos, Rob for long time. What I do not understand is why in your area SilloSocks decoys work OK but in Kent (where I am usually shooting) many crows and jackdaws often get scared and fly away w/o coming to the range??? Any idea/hint? I did not see anything you did differently to me!
You didn’t see anything differently but I bet the crows did. Nothing wrong with the decoys but if the crows see you first….. Lots of field craft here. Speedy has learned when to move and how to move. He also dresses like a piece of hedge so has an advantage straight away. 😂
Glad you’re enjoying the videos and they are helping you mate! 👍 it’s very hard for me to say but they are potentially seeing you in the hide? Next time you’re in the hide and they are doing the same, let a couple come In without shooting them. Sit dead still below the netting and see if they come any closer. Send me a message and let me know the results bud 👍 will be happy to help
@@fieldsportswithspeed many thanks for the response, Rob! 🙏 No, no, I am sure they can not see me behind the net. I am all in camo, even put balaclava on the top of camo cap to cover majority of face - so just glasses, usually black sunglasses. Yep, thats exactly the way I was thinking - sitting w/o moving & waching the craw approaches... It looks like they saw decoys, mainly sillosocks with few half-body plactic ones and spotting something wrong.... I suspected it is white cellophane inside sillosocks, but you have similar... 🤔 May I ask you if you come to the same fields twice/triple times with 1-2 weeks in between? Maybe I aducate the birds in the area, they are smart!??!
@@fieldsportswithspeed ahh ok, been looking for a new one as the I have I find birds turn away from looking at it has a slight shine to it so want something to go over the top of that one
Is there a specific reason you do not use a crow call? Also: Winchester SX4, improved modified and whatever high velocity 2,7-3mm shells I grabbed that morning.
I believe it's illegal to use an electronic crow caller in the UK. I'm in Ireland but open to correction, as that's what I think I've heard in other videos from some other channels
I use a FABARM Semi-Automatic and use 1/4 Choke and.. the Cartridge's i use for Pigeon's and Crows are FIOCCHI F Black 28 g 8.5 s i find there a great cartridge for Crow's and Pigeon's
Franchi affinity with Carlsons light mod and any cartridge I do like the hull superfast 29 6 but have rc hyperfast 35 5 victory white rabbits 35 5 eley zeniths 32 5
Enjoyed the video sorry that you have to put up with an obviously excessive regulation like proving damage! We have morons in government here as well 🤷♂️
You can't do that anymore. You have to prove they are doing crop damage and shooting the over grass thats been cut isn't crop damage. So I'd remove thi before you get into bother
I have spoken to Basc prior and because of the contamination and disease risk of the dairy unit next door, this is a valid way of pest control to reduce the numbers of corvids.
very satisfying watching your videos, from an old lady in canada.
allways a pleasure watching your vids lovely shooting full of hints,
Coombe farm 32g 5's 1/2 and 3/4 choke.
Yet another great vid you had me worried thinking there was no "hide snack of the day"
🤣🤣 thanks bud! 👍👍

AtA super sport 1/4 and 1/2 with lyalvale express 30 g 6 great shell fibre they hit hard love them
Do you stand up to shoot or stay seated on your idle back chair?

I used to do a lot of this, but now that I get the pension it had to stop, cartridges are very expensive and farmers don’t have any money these days!
Trusty maxus and just cartridges own 32 6. Had a great couple of mornings of late. Keep em coming pal
Awesome bud! I’ll do my best to 👍
Great video mate happy farmer. Pigeon selects through 1/4 and 1/2 always works well for me
Thanks bud! 👍👍
What kind of decoy are you using? Trying to find something good in Sweden. 🙂

Good session there matey..you will be as good as Andy soon...😈😱

What cartridge sizes do you use and gram amd what way is you barrels set up with chokes thanks
hiya mate, where did you get your crow decoys from?
From coombe farm sporting bud. The only problem is sillosocks are out of stock pretty much everywhere at the moment!
Rooks also. Beautiful 😊
Why shoot crows? I hunt a lot of things so no judgement here. Just curious
There are too many of them so why not??
They are a major agricultural pest here, especially this time of year where you have new crop drillings.
Try living beside them
Hello!
Tell us about the construction of your stuffed crows that you use on the hunt.
Thank you.
Nice when the plan comes rite welldone

My best setup was 20 bore, pure gold 6 or 5 shot 30g. I can't remember the choke sizes I was using at the time.
Is the farmer in the tractor ok ......pellets will be grounding near to him
At the farm where I work I use Bronzewing Assassin’s 32gm #7 shot lead .
