There is no way to get perfect white balance in your camera compared to your eyes. Try this. Get something like a flower in your viewfinder, set the camera to custom white balance kelvin. Adjust as close as you can and use tint to fine tune it and it will still not be the same as your eyes perceive it. Use auto white balance, shoot in raw and adjust to your preference. That is the best you can do.
Do you use AWB Standard, Ambiance, or White? I feel like with "Standard" it's a little too warm and "White" is a little too cool. My A7RV just doesn't seem to nail it.
I use standard. Yeah, it doesn't nail it every time but I don't mind because I shoot in SLOG the majority of the time. If its off, I'm able to correct it easily in post. If you use a more standard picture profile, you'll need to be more careful about selecting the correct white balance. If you don't like the preset options the camera gives you, I'm afraid you'll need to be more mindful about selecting the correct white balance. Maybe look into a grey card.

Yes you are right. It will never be perfect, but combine close enough with RAW I've found to be the secret sauce. Thanks for commenting!
