Curious non-Jew here. I need more of these videos immediately. You have insane RUclips potential.
Wish I could. Need more time and money :-) Thanks!
Banging out a RUclips short would be very much appreciated also.
@@danf2980 Where can we send the Shekels???
Agree :) that was a brilliant video thank you 😊
You were absolutely made for this, Rabbi! Why aren’t there any more videos? This video was great a little light can go a long way!
You may wanna search for "rabbi yitzchak breitowitz". I found some very interesting videos with good background information.
Hi. I am very eager to make more! The challenge is funding and time. This was an initial prototype to test what works, but I am definitely eager to make some more. I do hope I am able to find the time and resources to do it!

Rabbi Dan! The world needs more you! I've got notifications on and am eagerly awaiting your next video. Don't disappoint an old man...
Keep it in your pants, Johnny... the rabbi will be under the sheet with a hole in it shortly...!
With the recent increase in interest in the Jewish tradition due to that Netflix series, this channel would do really well I think. I'm very much interested in more videos!
My partner and I have always meant to find out what these hairstyles mean?! This is a fantastic video and we'd love to learn more from you if you fancied creating any more content. Thanks from Manchester, UK!
It has nothing to do with god! It’s just to please men

Now I have often heard it said " if you are explaining...your loosing"
But nothing could be further from the truth here...
Misunderstand is often at the heart of a lot of prejudice...
Anything that dispells misunderstanding has to be a step in the right direction.
What a great idea...good luck with all your efforts...
Great video guys, and the production value is top notch! +1 for Spock reference.
Loved the reference to an old favourite song from my childhood “Do your ears hang low? Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie them in a knot? Can you tie them in a bow?…” 😂
You’ve got a great sense of humour Rabbi. More please. 🙏
Note: Had to edit this comment because my autocorrect called you “Rabbit”. 😂
Hi. Thanks for the info and for the very interesting way you presented this info.

Make more videos! This was great!
I need more videos!!! You have a lot of charisma when talking in front of the camera. Im not a jewish but I got fascinated by your traditions thanks to South Park. Come back, please!!!
I've been curious since Fiddler on the Roof. Thank you for giving me understanding.
Excellent video! 👏👏👏
Please do more!
Amazing speaker... I wish there were more videos.
I am not Jewish, but my Italian Catholic mother has been dating a Jewish man for a couple years, so I am always interested in learning about different religions and cultures.
My mother's boyfriend was a friend and co-worker of my father, who died 8 years ago, many, many years ago.
I get along with him well, and I know that my mother is happy which is what matters most.
Also my Uncle's father was Jewish (though he was raised Catholic), and he lives in the Point Breese neighborhood in Pittsburgh, where he runs a well-known tavern that was passed down to him from his father, so I do have some distant relatives who are Jewish.
Please make more videos!!
Shalom Shalom!!! Please make more videos!!! I am about to devote my life to Judaism through conversion, and I would love to learn more about everything Jewish. I live 30 miles from Atlanta, I would love to find a Jewish community to call home!!!
I'm going through my own conversion in Maine-- I hope you're enjoying the journey as much as I am!
Try the "Nathan bar Jonah Synagogue..." Free pot pies and stew!
Where do I find the actual instruction! Since there are no Orthodox Jewish Barbers in San Diego, I like the instruction to share with the beard barber I go to!
Personally I go to my friend who cuts hair for a living because my disability makes sitting in a barber shop near impossible so it's easier for me to go to this persons house. They are not Jewish but respect it's really important to me to not cut some parts much. I just tell them to only trim the dead ends off and point out the sections specifically I care about. Although I also personally find it important to not cut the back as well much so have also point to the parts I really really don't want much length off. If they respect your practices they should leave the sides alone and help you style the sides.
Different people do it differently so there isn't really a specific instruction beyond just explaining why it's important and maybe show some photos of the specific style that you prefer to not round it out too much. Hope this helps a bit 🖤
From Brazil!!!!
You helped a lot fir my college presentation.
In Jerusalem now. studying , learning and subscribed.
Finally someone went straight to the point!!!!
I recently got hired by a jewish owned company that gives us all sorts of paid holidays off, and I'm curious about these kinds of things. Would love to see your channel make a comeback :)
Really interesting thank you. Could you explain why circumcision is in your faith ? Not just we were told too but why ?
Good Idea! I will add that to list of potential future vids!
Well now I know. And knowledge is power
Thank you
I learned something y today!.
I’ve embraced being a religious Jew and decided to start letting my Payos grow. I like the first style.
I have a very genuine question. Is it okay for an Orthodox Jew to have shoulder length hair?
so u guys have a nanach kollel now?
such growth..
Please make more videos
My question is, when did Jews became matrilineal? That is not a feature I associate with Abrahamic religions or the Middle East. That is a feature I associate with Africans, for example the Seereer people of Senegal, Gambia, Mauritania, and Guinea-Bissau - who have multiple maternal clans but all stemming from 3 main proto-Seereer matriclans; the Asante people of Ghana; etc. So, I have lots of questions: When did Jews became matrilineal? How many matriclans do they have? What are the names of these matriclans? What is/are the proto-Jewish matriclans? Why and when did they became matrilineal? The Seereer (or Serer) people have an answer for each of these question, but I've never really understood the Jewish position because this practice is not something I associate with the Middle East or Abrahamic faiths, which are patrilineal. In fact, it was only few years ago that I realised that Jews are matrineally, which really shocked me because as a Seereer, and a devout practitioner of Seereer spirituality (A fat Roog), that's not the type of thing I associate with the Abrahamic religions. In fact, the Abrahamic religions (namely Islam and Christianity, but Islam in particular) have spent centuries demonising and persecuting my people for it amongst other things, yet, the parent Abrahamic faith (Judaism), actually practice matrilineality! No one (Jew or otherwise) has ever been able to explain this to me.
Thanks
Are they considered payot when the man has long hair all around the head? Or do they need to have that area specifically cut short? Thanks!
Payot are limited to the area I described. The rest of the head are not the "corners" of the head. :-)
1 video wahts up.... 👍 More
I only shave my sideburns lol
Haha, yes, the middle ages Catholic friar/monk hairstyle of a shaved circle on top of the head WAS actually part of idolatrous Roman sun worship which was adopted with other pagan customs by the Roman Catholic Church, along with Sunday worship, celibate monks and nuns, Christmas with its gift-giving and tree, and Easter with its fertility eggs and bunnies, and many other traditions, including adopting the Roman solar calendar and idol statues and paintings to bow down to. Not all Christians believe or do those things.
Is there any more context on what “corner of your head” or “corner of your beard” actually means? Without specificity, the only safe way to be sure of actually following this commandment is to never cut any hair...
I'm pretty sure it was meant that Jews weren't supposed to artificially shape their hairlines and beardlines by shaving, not leave the sideburns untrimmed. I gotta be honest the long sideburns look atrocious in my opinion
you couldn't "peyos" to do our sideburns that way. 😂
Sorry, I had to do it. Just a little "pun".
thanks for posting this video. I've always had questions about the Jewish culture and traditions
You got some explaining to do for sure lol 😂
May I ask why you do not wear peyos?
make more videos!!
interesting
Watched this video, then was disappointed to see there were no more lol
Why were there never anymore 😢?
I wish I could do more. I do have a full time job teaching Judaism. I currently dont have the funding or time. I still think it's a good idea though!
I'm going to see if I can grow long peyos as a non Jew although I have Jewish Sephardi ancestry.
Love you you are hilarious 😂
Some people corn row the peyots and shave the rest of their head bald. That's the hairdo I'm going for.
You didn't explain why some don't maintain side curl.
Not everyone is strict to not ever trim the hair. Most just keep to the rule of not cutting it off entirely. Those who are strict and let it grow long have to address what to do with the long hair in that area.
Gang gang!!!
whaha he was spot on with me
Sorry, to me it is still not clear. There musst be an aim.
I do have a question. Are people of the Jewish faith commanded by God to only interact with others of the same faith?
or was, or has, that just been a consequence human life. man's comfort level so to ask?
I gave this video its 666th like
Yes I also came from blp kosher
But what is the reason that you should never round off the corners of your head???
Good question, he didn't explain the reason why.
He explained that shaved side burns like the bowl cut was a popular haircut for idolaters and other non Jewish clergy.... that's why they were told not to shave it off
It doesn't need a reason. It just need to be written in the bible
G-d does not give us a reason. He just told us to do it.
Can you do a video about how the original Israelites were black? X
Sauly Bee weak 😂🤣😂
😆
It Will never gonna explain that but the Bible says in many verses, just look the real Semites, Jews were black but also different colors remember they were all over and mix with other nationalities, but the originals ones came from Abraham they were dark skin, the less Jewish rewards to skin color are the ones from Europe all the whites that live today in Israel, the most closed to that it’s mizrahim from middle eastern or sefardic with basically are all the Spanish people that are now mix with Mexicans and some Latin American country’s, sorry my English it’s not perfect, but my words are truth 🤷🏻♂️
The Israelites were not black. They look like brown skinned Middle Easterners, just like Palestinians.

I understand that Hasidic women are well-educated and that the Hasidic community values education in general, rather than just reading the Torah and making babies! Good for them!!

I'm not Jewish so I could be wrong but somebody once explained it to me. there is a vein in that area (Temporal Artery), and if you cut it with a razor you can bleed profusely I doubt you would die but you know you are in the dessert its hot you get a hair cut and lose a quart of blood. I dunno, it just seemed like a feasible hypothesis at the time

Freitag means Friday in German.
Ummm. Okay? Miércoles means Wednesday in Spanish
@@nunyabidness1852 his name is Freitag and he is a Jewish guy with a German surname, but I know you don't get anything.
If your pet dies you gonna pay somebody to bury him? Cuz in Leviticus its saying if u touch in a dead animal u are impure. .or jew people cant have pets??
This is complex but the short answer is that it is limited to certain animals, but moreover, being impure is not prohibited - (read leviticus to see more) it mostly just affects the carrying out of certain temple rituals which we cannot do anyway these days as we do not have our temple.
I've translated to mean don't trim your beard. Don't round off your beard...

Unorthodox Netflix
What's the deal with the attitudes? NY, WA, MA, I've met a lot. A lot, are not nice.
Goat hair cut😂
Can I ask you politely, i would like to know why jews don't believe Jesus is the messiah..
Is it because Jews believe the messiah would not be humble? They thought he would come as a conquering king? I am told. Please I would like to know i find it fascinating.
There are a number of videos I've seen that deal with the question you asked. But I just had to comment about your user name, as I'm a "cat person" so couldn't help but notice. It is very cute!
Spock from Star Trek's a Jew!
"don't round off the corners or your head" means STOP CUTTING FORESKIN OFF...
...if its about hair, why are Jewish women shaven bald?
Oh yeah, because it tempts "angels" 😂😂😂😂
