really great tutorial. Useful plug-in. I like Fairlight but it needs a proper MIDI editor to make it a viable solution that would allow you to get rid of an external DAW. Maybe someday Black Magic will decided to give us that.
I have to agree. Midi clips to play track inputs is a must. Has nothing to do with music. Has to do with precision editing. Playing on a midi keyboard or with your mouse is NOT a viable option for professional usage. It needs midi clips so we can make fine and precise adjustments.
Thank you for the video. Is there an easy way to manually split the sample? Have you tried the same prossess with an external VSThost? (I had tried Kontakt without going into details but it seems to give an amazing flexibility and quality). I didn't know you could use audio layers like that. Extra helpful for ADR recordings
I dunno, those footsteps seem very out of sync with the action to me. For me it would be more efficient to place my trimmed sound effect on the frame I want it to begin playing at. Also methinks Resolve could use some keyboard shortcuts. Does the DELETE key not work or must you do it through the menu?
An actual MIDI keyboard will be more accurate. Also press option-control-K to bring up keyboard customization, and make sure DaVinci Resolve is set as the default keyboard. You could have it set for Final cut or something.
You should have recorded footsteps that were made using the same foot action as in the footage ... And I don't think 'octave' means what you think it does ;)
You don't have to describe what we can see you doing on the screen. You are doing the tutorial like it is a podcast and that we can only hear and not actually see what what you are doing. Example is 1:09 , you are literally explaining what we can clearly see with our own eyes.
Nice work, Travis!
This is good!
thank you for this tutorial 😭
I didn't know this was in resolve! Thanks for the tutorial, I learnt a lot 😊
Awesome never knew about this
I am impressed!! Great job!
Awesome tutorial! Thanks! keep them coming! :)
thanks will try it
it was just a few seconds in the video when I hit the sub button!

This is how the Military makes their military war scenes. Lots of editors in the armed services. See the world.
It's either no one knows how to use it or it's absolutely useless.I can't see any use for it so far

that would be how a tutorial is done (well). You could always fuck around in the software and find out yourself!
Actually, he does. People learn in different ways. I hate the tutorial makers who say, "click right over there" and garbage like that.
