That was some HOT tape for sure. :) It looks like some one put it too close to a heater. Good save , customer should be happy as.
Thankfully that warping didn't seem to affect the tape itself. I hope you were able to get a good capture of it. If it was hot enough to melt the plastic, it may have caused the tape to exceed its Curie point and all signals on the tape will be wiped!
That large sticker would fit a beta tape :)
Never in my life would I have expected to see a tape camera that loads upside down
Glad to see you back! The content is great!
In my experience old school disk drives are way more reliable than their USB counter parts and are usually happier to read 'meh' disks.
I suggest you find a nice old laptop or so, maybe some old Dell Latitude Pentium IV. They usually work, and they have floppy drives.
The label on the Cinderella tape is a Betamax sized label that Disney used on both vhs and beta for years. It is definitely legit. Another giveaway that it's an authentic tape is the hologram stickers on the left side of the tape and back of the case.
Cool! Love beta! Didn’t know that!
Amazing ! How do you ever remember what you have to do !! Love the video’s.
Good question!
I am working on my own reel-to-feel film format called “Cinevision” real soon using reels and a mini printer.
The Cinderella label was for a betamax tape maybe someone transfered to it to vhs back in the day and moved the label over.
Looks like the tape was eaten by acetone.
As far as I know hi8 always plays video8. It's a bit like S-VHS and VHS. Not every digital8 can play analog 8mm videotapes though.
I meant it the other way I think. video 8 cant play hi8? I don’t know you know what I mean lol. Awesome grab for $45
@@EmeraldCoastDigitizing video8 cannot play hi8 no, never ever 😁
my fave is TRV-480 D8, plays all 3 formats and has firewire digital out to capture everything without any conversion to AVI, however still need to quick convert with de-interlace to 60p MP4.
I'm not liking those ElGato low bitrate converters, too low quality for color-correction and enlarging to 1440x1080p
Can you fix a hi8 tape that was filmed out of alignment if so I may send your way
YES
@@EmeraldCoastDigitizing cool i may send it your way sometime youd have to play it from were i have it its a long story ill do that soon that would be awesome if u can get audio
Do you transfer records to digital? I am doing that in my business when It gets up and running
