I travelled by this Frecciarossa trains on many routes, during my many trips to Italy in last few years: 1. Milan to Venice. 2. Venice to Rome via Bologna. 3. Florence to Milan. 4. Naples to Milan via Rome. That time the maximum speed of these trains was 300 kms per hour, as shown on the display board above the passage. My last trip was in 2017; thereafter I had to cancel at the last moment my planned trip in 2020 because of COVID pandemic. I plan to go again shortly after the problem is over at least brought under control. My knowledge of basic Italian language helped me a lot to communicate easily with the local people and gel easily with them. They made me feel as if I am one OF them, not just one IN them. Thanks for the experience. The last time I was in Italy, in 2019, I used the rail from Milan to Venice, back to Milan, to San Remo, to Monaco, back to San Remo, back to Milan, to San Marino, to Bologna, to Naples, and lastly to Rome. From Bologna to Naples I rode in the Executive Class section. Big comfy chairs and very clean. I was by myself in that section so I had my own person serving me drinks. Gotta splurge once in a while. Can't wait to go back and travel by train again. We don't have rail where I live so going to Europe and traveling by train is pretty much the only way I travel around whenever I'm there.

If you enjoyed Brescia, I may suggest you to visit Bergamo too, it's fairly near Brescia, although being another province (that has a little rivalry going on with Brescia lol). the most beautiful sight it's the old fortified citadel, Città Alta (litteraly High City), wich is also a UNESCO site if I recall correctly. There is a cable railway to get to it (otherwise you can walk) and a lot of small little side roads and small "piazze" (squares) wich are very beautiful, not to mention the sight of the low part of the city you get from the public gardens on top of the walls.
Great video on the amazing Frecciarossa trains they are limited by the Italian government to 186mph (300kmh) for safety reasons which is good the interior looks luxurious and Venice the beautiful canal island city I must visit there 😍😍😍 and Milano central station very historique 1930s architecture
Nice. Takes me back to my travel from Venice to Geneva via Milan. Great coverage and beautiful coaches. Thanks for additional information on places to visit enroute. Great going. Stay safe
Next time you enter Stazione Centrale look on the left side at the junction with the mainline. You could see the Ferrovie Storiche depot (historical railways) with a lot of old trains
Fascinating trip, Premium Class is definitely worth it. Yes Brescia looks like a wonderful city well deserved to be visited. Is amazing how those steel canopies in these "old" train stations, have been made for forever, and can perfectly receive these incredible futuristic trains. Even though I have only traveled in the French TGV, Frecciarossa is for sure one of my favorite High Speed trains, however, the Spanish AVE is terrific too, and their new "Duck", Wonderful ride, thanks. I'll have to check your European cities reviews.
If you were looking for me onboard, you’d find me in the Executive Class car 👍🏻. There’s just something to be said about the spaciousness and quiet of the car.
I did that journey from Milan to Venice in the Frecciarossa 1000 in summer of 2017. They are great trains indeed. I was in standard class. My return journey was on two regional trains - changed at Verona and the Tren Nord from Verona to Milan was the last train of the day and en route, was stationary at an intermediate station for around 40 minutes.
Great train just the look of it is fast.certainly beats out the old supposed fast train we have in NSW Australia called XPT (Xpress Passenger Train). based on the tilt train from the UK.
Nice video. Also as a Brescian, I Really appreciate that you recommend to visit the city 😄. The only pity is the absence of an High-speed line between Brescia and Venice. Now the line between Brescia and Verona is under construction, we will see when the complete line will open 😂. Anyway you should have also shown the view of the Garda lake, from the Desenzano del Garda viaduct 😉
@@NonstopEurotrip I hope that Trenitalia will also improve small regional line: if you want have a "special experience", try the Brescia - Parma train 😉😂
found by chance, this is a well done video, quite professional. Will definitely look at more. Have made this train ride more than once (up graded) have also had the fortune to ride the Shinkasen (bullet train in Japan) and the Mag-Lev in Shanghai, Typically European trains have a character!! Am from Los Angeles area (North) and have never ridden a train in the U.S.!!! Thanks!!!
Amazing trip report, plenty of information and beautiful trains. 😍 Absolutely beautiful scenery too! I was just a bit surprised that this flagship train has so slow average speed on this route I seriously thought that it will be in Milano in 1 hour 30 mins max (considering the various speeds of 180-220-300 km/h), not 2 hours 27 mins. In our country we do not have any HS tracks, there's hilly terrain too and the fastest regular train does 250 km in 2 hours 3 mins and all that for 476 CZK or 18 EUR in first class. 😀
Thank you very much for the comment! You're right it is quite slow but then we do makes lots of stops! I've already done RegioJet and next week's video actually ends in Prague and I've got more Czech stuff to come including RailJet & LeoExpress 😍
@jmsmilfajt the highs speed line Milano-Venezia is not complete yet. The completion is scheduled in the next couple of years. This is why the train is forced to go so "slowly" and it takes too much time. On other completed HS lines the story is much different 👍
I did the same journey from milano centrale to venezia s. lucia and then venezia to Firenze SMN back in March 2018 in frecciarossa 1000 Busniess class. Paid Euro 60 for 2 one way. Very comfortable and yes it did 300 KMPH most of the way. Did Firenze to MIlan in Italo and I was not able to make out any major difference between Trenitalia and Italo.
Hi, It was a very enjoyable review of a trip I expect to travel later this year - in reverse direction, but very useful anyway. I look forward to your next review (as soon as you get to edit them 😊). Cheers!
I see in a lot of European stations English is being used as the second language, it’s mimicking the airport announcements and trying to get the railway passengers away from the airlines and use the rail transport system including cross border travel so makes sense repeating the airline announcements if they want the public to use the train
honestly i can't believe how a such over sea city like Venice can exist ,that city is very unique for sure, i never travelled to Venice yet but i hope to doing this one day
as 300 km/h capable in Italy we have also the older etr 500 and etr 575 (agv) . Nice trains. If you look for something slower but capable of 250 km/h , you can try also the Etr 700 (ex fyra) from Milan to Lecce (between Milan and Parma the train uses the high speed railway), etr 485 from Rome to Reggio Calabria and, as i said in a previous comment, the Giruno from Milan/Genoa to Zurich . Have a nice day!
@@giulianoilfilosofo7927 Bullshit. A train advertised as high speed train should be faster than a car. This thing averages 104km/h over 260km. That's clearly pretty much as slow or even slower than a car. There must be something wrong with the train, route or infrastructure.
@@berhorn It's years now that they are authorised to travel at 300km/h. But due to inadequate infrastructure the fastest train nonstop from Milan to Rome (550km) does an average speed of 190km/h.
roughly a month ago I traveled from Bologna to Venice on the Frecciarossa, also in Premium Class. Loved it! Also Venice was a unique experience this year, as there were no crowds (at least in October). Btw my train got also swapped - the 1000 was scheduled, but they used the 500 instead, so exactly the opposite than on your trip, lol.
Nice video! The new line between Milano and Venezia is not completed between Brescia and Padova (Padua) . The real high speed tracks is between Milan and Brescia and Venezia to Padoa but only the Treviglio Brescia line permits 300 km/h and it is electrified at 25 kv AC 50 hz
Nice report. I've traveled on the Red Arrow and the Dot Italo and the latter's business class is rather nice; big soft Frau seats which you can leave a semi permanent indentation on with your finger (very soft!). I traveled the full length of the line from Napoli to Milano and always arrived refreshed. Freccianera (black arrow) direct from Rome to Milan and Frecciaverde (green arrow), Frecciazzurra (sky blue arrow) and Frecciablù (blue arrow) services were planned before the 08 recession and later cancelled. Pity.
I'm Italian and I can assure you no train runs at 400 km per hour in here! It's already a rarity they're hitting the 300 figure. The geological conformation doesn't allow such high speeds
Geological conformation? More like overdesigning lines which ends up in raising costs and consequently building less than what we need. This is why Milan to Venice takes this much, only the Milan-Brescia and Padua-Venice sections are completed while the rest is being built very slowly due to costs largely increasing. The cities are distant 250 km but these trains run on normal tracks for 150 km, with the result of paying a high speed service that doesn't reach high speeds
@@FrancescoDondi Such a pity they're taking so long to complete that, but hey, we think that freight needs to travel at 300 kph and so let's increase all the costs, make the available money too few to complete that in a reasonable amount of time and let's make people pay for a high speed super fast service that really isn't that super fast.
@@NonstopEurotrip I would have to say the Italo. Was a beautiful train, very clean, very sleek. But I guess it's like comparing United airlines to Delta airlines....rather than united airlines to Singapore airlines.

Sometimes I travelled on Frecciarossa 1000, I think the most shocking part is from Bologna to Florence, for years I travelled on normal trains there and the first time on these I was, wow, we are already in Florence? Anyway aesthetically my favourites are Frecciargento ETR.610 and Italo Agv 575. Outside Italy maybe the TGV and the E6 Shinkansen... not sure
14:20 kind of crazy to think that that’s a cheaper cost per mile than California High Speed Rail is shaping up to be (~$94.64 million/mile vs $80-$140 million/mile from the numbers I could find)
@@NonstopEurotrip I wouldn’t be surprised. I personally am pretty optimistic for American high speed rail, but government-sponsored HSR in California is not one of the projects I hold that optimism for
Amtrak in the US has a type of aesthetic that answered the question: “How can we build an ugly engine and car so that passengers are unable to develop any pride in using the system?"
the milan-venice railway...i'm from Vicenza and I studied in Verona and I went in Venice twice times(both around 2h maximum plus i'm from schio so +40mins) there isn't any high speed railways!

J’ai prix le tgv de Roissy Charle de gaule à Angoulême et une semaine après vice versa lors de mon voyage en France pour 2 semaines depuis Montréal ma ville natale en 2002 :)
@@justinbourget1560 the FRANCE for the francaise is most beauty, most great, most super, most, most....France escuse moi....vaffanculoooo...🤣🤣🤣
@@justinbourget1560 Et moi, j’ai voyagé en TGV Lyria de Zurich à Mulhouse vendredi dernier.
So smooth even at this high speed!!
Absolutely 😍
Well decoration in train very beautiful
I travelled in Freccia Rossa 1000 from Milan to Rome, that was amazing.
My favorite train for sure … looks so good
So sexy 😍
If you enjoyed Brescia, I may suggest you to visit Bergamo too, it's fairly near Brescia, although being another province (that has a little rivalry going on with Brescia lol). the most beautiful sight it's the old fortified citadel, Città Alta (litteraly High City), wich is also a UNESCO site if I recall correctly. There is a cable railway to get to it (otherwise you can walk) and a lot of small little side roads and small "piazze" (squares) wich are very beautiful, not to mention the sight of the low part of the city you get from the public gardens on top of the walls.
I'll add it to my list! Sounds lovely 🇮🇹👌🏻
Great video on the amazing Frecciarossa trains they are limited by the Italian government to 186mph (300kmh) for safety reasons which is good the interior looks luxurious and Venice the beautiful canal island city I must visit there 😍😍😍 and Milano central station very historique 1930s architecture
Yes, you are right, it's an amazing trip with lovely cities at each end! 😊
@@NonstopEurotrip yes Italy has some of the world's best cities
Nice. Takes me back to my travel from Venice to Geneva via Milan. Great coverage and beautiful coaches. Thanks for additional information on places to visit enroute. Great going. Stay safe
Thanks glad you enjoyed it! Stay safe too ✌🏻
Next time you enter Stazione Centrale look on the left side at the junction with the mainline. You could see the Ferrovie Storiche depot (historical railways) with a lot of old trains
I have it on film from one of my many other trips to/from Centrale 😂
Fascinating trip, Premium Class is definitely worth it. Yes Brescia looks like a wonderful city well deserved to be visited. Is amazing how those steel canopies in these "old" train stations, have been made for forever, and can perfectly receive these incredible futuristic trains. Even though I have only traveled in the French TGV, Frecciarossa is for sure one of my favorite High Speed trains, however, the Spanish AVE is terrific too, and their new "Duck", Wonderful ride, thanks. I'll have to check your European cities reviews.
I love that a lot of Europe's high-speed trains are still different, but all good on their own ways 😎🇪🇺
This is a favorite train of mine (along with the Shinkansen). I hope I could try the full Paris-Milan route one day.
Me too 😁
Beautiful trains and sights
Absolutely Ricardo 😄
Bellissimo Bella Italia.
Grazie! 🇮🇹😁
We enjoyed the Italo train and staff in the station and on the train.
Excellent 😊
Thanks for the ride !!!
Great train eh? 😎
If you were looking for me onboard, you’d find me in the Executive Class car 👍🏻. There’s just something to be said about the spaciousness and quiet of the car.
And the cost 😂
Bu tren oyunu dada var
I did that journey from Milan to Venice in the Frecciarossa 1000 in summer of 2017. They are great trains indeed. I was in standard class. My return journey was on two regional trains - changed at Verona and the Tren Nord from Verona to Milan was the last train of the day and en route, was stationary at an intermediate station for around 40 minutes.
Excellent! I've done the regional trains along those lines too, It takes ages 😂
beautiful italy 😍😍
Definitely! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Great train just the look of it is fast.certainly beats out the old supposed fast train we have in NSW Australia called XPT (Xpress Passenger Train). based on the tilt train from the UK.
Best trains in the world. No doubt. 😁
Brescia is a lovely city! Hopefully soon there will be a full high-speed connection from Milan and Brescia to Venezia ☺️
Thanks!!!
Thank you very much! Japan is on my to-do list for sure!
@@NonstopEurotrip Finally a Leo Express review. 😍😍 You're welcome! Thank you for making a great content!
Thanks! Share the channel 😅
Yes, they are very similar experiences! 👍🏻
I am reminded of my Venice trip and travel by Trent Italia to Paris
Been there done that brilliant really worth the time and effort
Very chic and comfortable
Absolutely 🤗
una hermosura el piso brilla!
Live this 4k stuff, like being there!
Aww thank you! 😁
Hi,
It was a very enjoyable review of a trip I expect to travel later this year - in reverse direction, but very useful anyway.
I look forward to your next review (as soon as you get to edit them 😊).
Cheers!
Glad it was helpful!
I see in a lot of European stations English is being used as the second language, it’s mimicking the airport announcements and trying to get the railway passengers away from the airlines and use the rail transport system including cross border travel so makes sense repeating the airline announcements if they want the public to use the train
Very true, most European countries repeat everything in English both on signs and announcements. It can only be a good thing!
English is the international language after all.
U tripping....
I'm a train and I approve this video choo chooooooo!
Choooooooo 🚄
I went to Italy last April and I'm gonna be honest but the one I took went at like 340km!
300kmh is the current maximum line speed anywhere in Italy.
@@NonstopEurotrip it felt like it did lol since ive been to Japan on those green bullet trains and noticed the crazy speed
honestly i can't believe how a such over sea city like Venice can exist ,that city is very unique for sure, i never travelled to Venice yet but i hope to doing this one day
Pretty crazy right 😂
as 300 km/h capable in Italy we have also the older etr 500 and etr 575 (agv) .
I hope to try the Frecciargento ETR700 soon 😎
All that advertised speed, in the end the train takes about 2,5h for about 260km. So it's not that fast at all...
@@berhorn It's called safety, genius.
@@giulianoilfilosofo7927 Bullshit. A train advertised as high speed train should be faster than a car. This thing averages 104km/h over 260km. That's clearly pretty much as slow or even slower than a car. There must be something wrong with the train, route or infrastructure.
@@berhorn
It's years now that they are authorised to travel at 300km/h.
Yes, Venice is lovely when not as busy as normal. Well I'll just have to go back for a 500 ride next year 😂
@@NonstopEurotrip and I’ll have to go back for an 1000 ride xD
Nice video! The new line between Milano and Venezia is not completed between Brescia and Padova (Padua) . The real high speed tracks is between Milan and Brescia and Venezia to Padoa but only the Treviglio Brescia line permits 300 km/h and it is electrified at 25 kv AC 50 hz
Thank you! Yeah it'll be great when the whole Milano-Venezia line is high-speed 🥰
Pity.
Thank you!
Very nice and great I was also went in Venice ""ITALIA"" in September 2009
This place is very nice🙏
Completely agree 👍🏻
Really special ❤️❤️
Thanks 🙏🏻
Very good, no talking.
Thanks 🙏🏻
I'm Italian and I can assure you no train runs at 400 km per hour in here! It's already a rarity they're hitting the 300 figure. The geological conformation doesn't allow such high speeds
As is explained the video, these trains have a design speed of 400kmh.
The geological conformation of a giant plain? Venice to Milan is the best you can ever hope for.
Took this same trip in 2017. Great time. Also took the Italo from Rome to Venice. Also very good.
Which do you prefer?
@@NonstopEurotrip I would have to say the Italo. Was a beautiful train, very clean, very sleek. But I guess it's like comparing United airlines to Delta airlines....rather than united airlines to Singapore airlines.
@@jeadie2273 I find Frecciarossa onboard service to be a bit better, but Italo is usually cheaper 🙂
Miss it...did it many many many times. I live in Brescia and work in Milan, but now I work at home (smartworking) due to COVID. I used to go Venice quite often and many times in summer at the seaside. Ciao!
Must have been nice to take this train to go to work 😊 Ciao!
Outside Italy maybe the TGV and the E6 Shinkansen... not sure
The most shocking part of that route is you just enter 1 long tunnel and then you're there 😂😂😂 I love the AGV (video coming soon in club exec 😍)
Wow beautiful trains
Absolutely 🤗
Très beau train! Cela donne envie de voyager.
Merci beaucoup!
14:20 kind of crazy to think that that’s a cheaper cost per mile than California High Speed Rail is shaping up to be (~$94.64 million/mile vs $80-$140 million/mile from the numbers I could find)
Wow yeah and isn't some of that going to be single track now? 😅
@@NonstopEurotrip I wouldn’t be surprised. I personally am pretty optimistic for American high speed rail, but government-sponsored HSR in California is not one of the projects I hold that optimism for
@@justagiraffe2868 haha 🤣
Amtrak in the US has a type of aesthetic that answered the question: “How can we build an ugly engine and car so that passengers are unable to develop any pride in using the system?"
I agree with that John 🙏🏻

I am from Brasil, thanks for travel.

400km/h is a bit of Click Bait
Obviously 😆
on 3 December 2015 the ETR 400 (frecciarossa 1000), during the tests, reached 390.7 km / h
the milan-venice railway...i'm from Vicenza and I studied in Verona and I went in Venice twice times(both around 2h maximum plus i'm from schio so +40mins) there isn't any high speed railways!
