Kia Sportage 2009 MAF Clean, Fuel Filter and Air Filter change

- I had a surging / cutting out issue with my 2009 Kia Sportage 2.0 Diesel (CRDI) ..
done around 40k miles and never changed teh Air or Fuel filter so suspected them at fault, but also read that a faulty/dirty MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor could cause similar symptom's , so I set about changing filters and cleaning the MAF..
I know I made a mistake towards the end and tried to mount a bracket wrongly, but you will notice I did put it right..

Thank you Simon: a real-world side-of-the-road video is worth a lot. Having seen what's involved I'm now convinced that my car's fuel filter won't have been changed for a long time! It's dirty fingernails time again . . .

Hi, thanks for the easy to follow vid. I have a 2006 Kia Sportage Diesel with the same issue. mine starts and ticks over ok but when pulling away or low speed it's very hesitant/juddering. I've replaced the valves EGR Valve fuel filter Air filter. Hope you can give me some helpful advise .

Hi Nick, I'll have a look on mine in the morning, am pretty sure I know where it is but want to double check.
Same car but no MAF and it runs fine until i slow down and need instant acceleration but the car stalls for 2 seconds n take off help!
As much as I would love to help, it's been years (20) since I worked on cars for a living, your issue sounds like could be any number of things, plus things I don't know about with new injection and control systems. Sorry, but I don't think I am the person to help you on this occasion :) . However, if you do find out, please feel free to post on this as it does get lots of views and am sure would help others in time to come. Good Luck with it
Simon Parkes thanks but i have this same vehicle but it seems as though it did not came with a MAF which is puzzling and ive been driving it fine for years until this issue came about and i was about to clean the carb and the MAF but there is no sensor.

What problems were you experiencing??
helpfull, help me see system of pipe, so I can see if pipes are complette, because I had problem with connect pipes, they from plastic, but finaly hair dryer melt pipe which became rubber (its was cold outside), then I am able to fit them
Did you have to prime the new diesel filter after replacing?
Sorry yes I did, probably didn't have to, but better be safe than sorry ( with a flat battery )

@@hipstarchild I cant remember if I used a bulb, or just dumped the filter in a bucket of clean fuel for 15 mins to let it soak in
