      I've had my Exclusive LR in white for a year. Best car I've ever owned. Can't fault it. I've travelled 5000 miles and it has cost me £271 in electicity. That's 5.4p per mile. No road tax. So comfortable, and really fun to drive. I shall not be going back to petrol.

    Hello.
    Had mine for about 6 weeks and, so far, I can’t fault it. The numbers are beyond my expectations. I saved £220 as soon as I left the forecourt due to £0 VED that would’ve been due on my previous car. I’ve saved a further £280 on fuel, the cost using Gridserve being less than 10p per mile, the cost on cheap overnight electricity being less than 4p per mile and finally, I’ve just left the car plugged in using excess solar energy on a nice sunny day for around 6 MILES PER PENNY! THAT’S THE EQUIVALENT OF KENT TO NORTH YORKSHIRE AND BACK FOR LESS THAN A QUID!
    Regarding driving dynamics, it isn’t a sports/performance car and I don’t expect it to be. Smooth, quiet and nippy. The motorway range is about 230 miles and probably over 320 miles tootling around the town.
    In the interests of overall clarity, I will just point out that the MG5 is my first EV and that my other car is a Caterham 7.
    Enjoyed the video, keep them coming 👍🏻.

      With mine, I find I can get over 5 miles per kWh on a run in decent conditions. Shorter journeys tend to be less efficient.

      @@bobadams7654
      Hello Bob. Amidst the rising gas and daytime electricity prices, our night rate has fallen so much that the current cost/mile is about 1.75p. But we are still managing to get our day to day running on excess solar power which costs nothing. Unfortunately, even Gridserve pricing means that long Motorway/A road journeys cost more than petrol in the cold weather.
      Enjoy the EV journey 👍🏻.

    I actually like the styling inside and out but no question the update looks far better. I'm guessing the update won't come without a serious price hike though. Estate cars are pretty much my favourite type of car, most of my cars have been estate cars I'm not really into SUV's.

    • @OsvUkVehicleSupply
      @OsvUkVehicleSupply  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for your comment, we hope to bring you a review of the updated model soon! Why are estates your favourite type of car?

    • @bonzobanana1
      @bonzobanana1 2 года назад +2

      @@OsvUkVehicleSupply I'm often carrying a lot of stuff and have bikes which can go straight into a estate without removing wheels where as the small to medium sized SUV's have more squarish capacity which doesn't work for bikes. I also prefer the sportier lower down driving position. Not forgetting cheaper price, cheaper maintenance, cheaper tyres etc. A lot more value with estates.

    In the process of buying an MG5 Exclusive, but not the '23 upgrade version. Test drove one yesterday, expecting to be underwhelmed...was grinning like a Cheshire cat for most of the journey (especially the short trip along the bypass...gotta learn to have a light touch on that go-faster pedal!).
    For the same price as a similar age/mileage ST line Focus estate, which i also drove (to compare), i appreciate the advantages/disadvantages of both, but I chose the MG as it offers me access to the 'future' of driving.
    I've had loads of cars over the years (saloons/MPVs/performance hatches etc.), but this is a new experience and one which i fully intend to engage with.
    So what if its not a 'pose'? Been there/done that! Its not 'pipe and slippers' either.
    Spec' level on the Exclusive is perfectly acceptable...i found the Excite to be the exact opposite of that though...dull, in fact!
    For the money (mine's 22K with under 10K miles on it)...its a no-brainer.
    In a few years, once I've fully immersed myself in the new world, i might try one of the established 'brand' models, but this will most certainly do for now!
    Great vid, btw! 👍

    A few inaccurate details that I've picked up(both front seats are electrically heated on exclusive model, the start up procedure for the car does not take 10-20 seconds, etc.)sorry to agree with a previous comment, there's a bit of a tldr situation here. The numerous camera angles and fast transitions have made me dizzy. Overall doesn't feel like the car is painted in a good light, except at the very end.
    But the positives are that it's quite a detailed description of the car.

    You're in the long range version, with the blue buttons on the end of the stalks which indicate the car has the MG Pilot suite. The ZS EV with the same MG Pilot suite did achieve a 5 star NCAP rating so not sure why you think the MG5 wouldn't do the same.

    • @OsvUkVehicleSupply
      @OsvUkVehicleSupply  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts Peter. We can't know this for sure until the MG5 EV is officially tested. Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) is something EuroNCAP look out for and in the past vehicles have been marked down for not having it.

    • @peterfenwick6001
      @peterfenwick6001 2 года назад +2

      @@OsvUkVehicleSupply the MG Pilot suite includes AEB. I think the speed has to be below 20mph otherwise you have to rely on front collision warning. Hopefully we'll find out when NCAP tests it. I'm picking mine up this afternoon and would prefer not to test it myself 😀

    The steering wheel and most of the switch gear is from VW, the stalk behind the steering wheel for the cruise control is also done by Mercedes and Skoda on certain models so don't see why you say its a bad thing on MGs part when other manufacturers do it and the wheel isn't that big. Nobody ever notices or points out the switchgear and wheel blatantly being VW lol.

    When electric cars can drive 350-400 miles, take no longer than 10 minutes to charge & don't cost from £35,000 particularly now there is no UK government grant at all.
    Where is the UK infrastructure.
    We have TWO 50kw charging ports in our council area with 238,000 residents.
    I agree with Andy's comment. If this is the future forget it.
