great video, never thought about attaching PD plate to L-bracket. - a trick where to locate the red PD handles (above through the hole, inside the left side bracket ?) - is the standard/old 3660 compatible with recent a7rv ? it seems so but poorly documented on smallrig website promoting now the foldable one. - by the way is smallrig foldable L-bracket for a7rv stable on tripod with all moving parts and screws ? - any experience combining L-bracket with tethertools cable (straight or right angle) ? I have seen TT has a L-bracket adapter but so huge !
Thx! I can’t comment on the new foldable L-bracket, I haven’t tried it. Running cables are not a problem as long as you’re horizontal. If you want to run cables in vertical, an angled would be best. You might be able to get away with a straight one if you extend the side mount, but it would increase the chance of micromovements. I don’t know if the A7RV would fit. The bodies are very similar, but not perfectly.
Bro I just saw your Pen tips videos, and checked out your channel. You have the professional feel in your videos as well as good humour. Your channel is Underrated AF. Hope your channel grows faster than ever.
You know, sometimes I feel like I did myself a disservice, setting the bar high early on. They take a lot of time and effort to make, so I don't make that many, which in turn hinders growth. But every now and then, someone chooses to take their valuable time and spend it on a little love and appreciation. And that makes it all worth it. :) Thank you for letting me know! I'll remember you, and all you other spirit lifters, on a rainy day.
@@Leninzkis "Whatever you cross, Whatever your pain, There will always be sunshine, After the rain" - Somebody Don't worry bro, not now not tomorrow, but your efforts will surely show results soon. 🤗 For now, I'd suggest you to try and make daily uploads, especially YT shorts as its booming. I know you do have all the necessary equipment as I've seen your videos. Try to upload daily, but also not taking too much of your time without compromising the quality too much (You can edit less, so you save time). In this way, you won't get worn out as compared to spending hours on full videos and eventually losing interest. You may know all of this stuff already, but I just wrote it all, in case you don't. I know you can make this all work. I'm telling because I know you are talented, especially from the way you talk and represent humour, and also from the editing you have in your videos. Don't lose Hope. If you work accordingly, you may see results way before, you imagined you will. All the Best👍🏻and I hope to see this channel in the top soon😊
Great video. Was looking at which rig to get for my a7iv. Not a huge fan of vertical, but it helps to have since it is requested often. Will probably pick this up for tripod use and hopefully works well on gimbal as well. Thanks!
The side, and bottom, are Arca-swiss compatible, and the side is hollow to allow access to the various connections on the side. Great if you use Arca, not so much for Manfrotto users 😕
thanks for the honest review!
other videos just go over features and frankly sound like SmallRig ads.
this video covers everything i wanted to know
Glad to hear it!
Underrated Video, but i prefer the smallrig baseplate for using with gimbal (Arca swiss)

Thx! I have not tried it with the gimbal either, let me know how that works out.
I love the style of your review! But dont forget the stuff that matters :) ty!
Thx! I’ll keep that in mind. 😏
Falcam f38 L bracket will be the answer
That is a very interesting alternative. Thx for the tip!
This can be used with a gimbal?
As long as your gimbal can handle the weight, you could attach a plate to the bottom and use it on a gimbal.
Bonjour j’aimerais savoir si se produit et compatible avec un Sony A7III ? parce que je vois qu’il et compatible avec un Sony A7SIII
It is not. The A7IV and the A7sIII have the same body, while the A7III is smaller.
@@Leninzkis donc si je comprend bien je ne peut pas l’utilise pour un A7III?
Correct!
Lol great vid man!
Honestly, i don't know what to do with an L bracket that i can't attach quick release plates to the side of.
What kind of quick release plates would you like to attach?
@@Leninzkis in my case, the Manfrotto PL200 plate.
Why is the whole side omitted? There should be at least a 1/4 thread hole.
I don't get it.

What's the point of having the L-bracket with the PD plate on it, if you then can't use it in the vertical mode? Dude you make no sense.
