This repair/maintenance procedure does not correspond to what the manufacturer says should be done. The rotary hammer drill of this type is usually oil-lubricated (with a special oil for this purpose). If you open an intact GBH 5-40 in this way, the oil will run onto the table.

I’m just trying to figure out how often I should clean and grease this thing and how.
It depends on how often you use it, for normal use one's a year a check , cleaning, greasing and maybe a service if needed. Good luck
