The way Roger immediately posted Rafa’s Laver Cup confirmation on his IG, I have a feeling he will be involved in some way in the farewell - either directly or indirectly
I want to see Rafa playing doubles with Alcaraz at the Laver Cup. That would be great fun.
It's already going to happen at the Olympics, so I have a tendency to think that it'll actually be someone else that plays with him at Laver Cup.
Imagine watching Rafa and Roger, or even Novak playing doubles, one last time, together. Goosebumps.
@user-md3id6wh4y why are u so salty? Why did you even have to start this stupid "fedal is against djokovic" thing?
That would be epic.
@user-md3id6wh4y in what world would he not be invited LMAO u make no sense
@user-md3id6wh4y I am not a Novak fan ( I love Rafa and Roger, but Rafa was and is my favourite), but I respect Novak and totally agree with what you wrote. Thank you!
There is nothing in tennis, nor ever has been, like Fed and Nadal. Djoke and Nadal may have played more matches but that is totally insignificant to the fact, and everybody knows it, that there's a nearly tangible specialness watching Fed and Nadal play each other that ONLY happens when they play together. Nothing draws the excitement, awe and wonder like Fed and Nadal.
Laver cup is basically Federer's cup, so.... Fingers crossed some magic happens!!!
More Rafa when we expect less Rafa, good times!! 😂
Boy oh boy if this is his last year he's giving us his best thanks RAFA
Omg I want to go to Berlin now!!!!!
Rafa should play first set with Roger, second set with Novak and match tiebreak big 3 together on court
Love Andy so much
I could listen to this stuff all day
Odds on seeing Murray signed up next too
If team Europe wants to lose again
Maybe we get to see Big 4 play doubles altogether haha
Rafa and Novak playing doubles with Roger as coach, against Sinner and Alcaraz with Medvedev as coach. Older generation vs the new generation !
one small problem: sinner and alcaraz are also on team europe
Chris Evert played Fed Cup final the year she retired- got Martina to join her. Chris wanted 1 last win and she wasn't doing it in the slams at this point (89)... the US won.
Great performance from Andy Roddick
Should be Rafa and Novak in doubles. I say this as a Federer fan. When Novak finishes, he should the pass the torch to the heir apparent with a doubles match - Carlos or Sinner (whoever who has separated grand slam wise at that time)
John gives all the possible reasons why it DOES make sense Rafa going to Laver Cup in Berlin, then he repeats many times that it is weird. im like what did you just said?
Maybe an exhibition game between Rafa and Roger??
I occurred to me that Rafa playing Laver Cup is the Plan B in case he is not even able to play Roland Garros. My heart would love to see him in Paris. My mind says “not so fast!”.
Ah this is the ultimate wishlist for sooooo many tennis fans - Rafa playing Laver Cup last time... WITH Roger?!!?!?!? And as Andy says - don't announce it, just have the two of them walk out there?? The roof would blow off the place!
The only reason why I'm leaning towards "it probably won't happen" is.. Roger's last appearance was Roger's last appearance. That was his retirement. He had the peRFect ending (see what I did there).
But... I can 100% see Roger rocking up for this. I think it's VERY likely that he'll at least be out on the practice court hitting with Rafa, or in the stands watching.
But in terms of Rafa's final match.. what about Murray? It's his last year as well - give him a sendoff too!
do you think rafa would play wimbledon if he plays RG at a super competitive level and ends up without injuries?
I hope #fedal will have a farewell world tour
still so much uncertainties, many things could happen with Rafa, if Rafa somehow wins in Paris, I won't be surprised he will play Paris next year, next year he will be 38 , if he recovers and gets healthy again, I think he will want to play in Paris again.
You are delusional at this point hoping he would win paris. He cannot play Best Of 5. Look at his Body. He's Getting better but still miles miles Below the level you would expect him to Win R.G
@@foreverFreak As a huge Rafa fan, nothing wrong with hoping he would win again in Paris, definitely not delusional, is he the heavy favor like he used to be ? Of course not, is he still a contender I think he is, realistically I give him 10 to15% chance assuming he is at least close to 100% physically healthy when it comes to Paris. FYI, he just beat De Minaur in Madrid, tonight he already played lot better than Barcelona. You might be the delusional one to completely rule Rafa out for Paris !
You think that purely on the level of Fandom, Roger is gonna have Novak play doubles with Rafa? No one wants that in the Roger world. Everyone would want to see Roger and Rafa have a great time on the same side of the next for the next 10 years. They'll bring in 25% more tickets with 50% more price. Roger and Rafa's playing styles, the best Wimby finals match ever (probably) 2008, etc. etc. etc. The 2017 comeback by Roger with the racing black and white stripe killer backhand in AO, where he won... let's be serious.
Listening to Rafa's interview in Madrid today he implies if he is not competitive enough to play RG he wont play. There is no way he wants to go back there and compete if he is not capable of lasting 5 sets., Laver cup would be even more interesting if Novak and Andy sign up again too.
What if they incorporate the world team tennis rule of substitutions - Rafa plays his last tennis match (doubles) with Alcaraz, Djokovic, and Federer. That would be epic and a celebrated send off for Rafa in a highly unique way
not yall getting my hopes up now for fedal doubles if it doesnt happen im suing
Rafa plays Madrid, Rome, RG, Wimbledon, Olympics and Laver Cup. The end!
Laver waiver is a great idea
12:12 yes, book Berlin tickets ❤
Possible he follows in Roger's footsteps and retires at The Laver Cup too? Edit: Typed this just before Jon said this in the video:)
So, the Laver Cup will be played in Spain? or some other contraband-friendly locale? Must be, if Nadal's gonna play.
this is straight fanboy talk and i love it
How soon we forget! Roger and Nadal played doubles at the Laver cup last year and lost! why do you continue to pump these guys up at the age they are and try to bring them back! It is better to go out on top or to keep on playing and end up at the bottom of the Barrell!
If Rafa wants a goodbye he needs to pick an ATP tournament. Most of the people he played with aren’t going to be at Laver Cup.
If Rafa and Roger have their send off at the Laver Cup, Novak will certainly pick a different place.
Why would you be surprised Nadal doing like Federer ! 😮😮😂😂 I❤❤
Roger organises good bey party for Rafa.
blink twice if you can go LOL
Mas Rafa ❤️🔥
can you just ask them and tell us andy 😂 for us that don’t have that much financial flexibility… ask roger if he’s gonna be there and rafa if it’s gonna be his last match haha
Federer's farewell at Laver Cup has a crucial element neither Roddick or Wertheim mentioned: Laver Cup was HIS creation. It was his idea. He got Tony Godsick to get everyone else on board to make that happen. So Federer saying farewell there makes sense. Nadal is just another player at Laver Cup. He's no different from any of his other teammates. So the idea of that event being his farewell is far-fetched. It's crazy to think Nadal would skip places like Wimbledon and the US Open - where's he won 6 slams between the two tournaments - to play an event where he's just one of many invited guests.
Fedal doubles would send everybody apeshit, if it happens... but I don't think it will. Federer will be present to say some kind words about his friend, maybe practice with him but I don't see them playing together. And that would be a shame...
and whose idea was it rafa representing zverev 😬 #🐘intheroom … just waiting for may… haha
Gotta book his retirement like a wrestling match!
Weird? What's he talking about?
Rafael Nadal will NOT play French Open. You can praise me later for my accurate prediction
Sorry, Mr. Wertheim, but even if Rafa plays at The French Open and loses a lopsided match... he will NOT be humiliated.
It will merely be him taking the court one last time there to say goodbye to the great fans who have witnessed his greatness for so long.
That was a really bad use of words by someone who is supposed to be good at using words.
Eventually Fedal with coach Team Europe
Lavers cup is one of the best things ive seen in tennis? Really? I love Roddick but he has this lets make tennis superbowl, with halftime events and coaches vibe…
Like Nadal needs money right 😂
Nadal and Djokovic doubles
obviously nadal gonna injure himself in french open, and miss laver cup or play only double half dead
If its going to be Rafa and Roger they need to make it an exhibition. The teams are actually trying to win and there is a lot of prize money at stake. The Roger takeover last time ruined it for me.
It’s also possible that he goes down the route of Federer and end his career at Laver Cup. Some food for thought
Federer, nadal era has come to an end. Djoker is nearing his end of era too. Stop dreaming and move on. Nadal is not winning RG. He may be competitive for a few matches if anything but no way no how. Djokovic atill has an outaide chance of winning a major this year if injuries.derail carlos or sinner.
Clean up the language Andy!
There is nothing in tennis, nor ever has been, like Fed and Nadal. maybe Rafa will play with the crown prince of Saudi Ararbia- they own him,so why not?
Just go away already. Give others, especially youngsters, spotlight. Also you are risking permanent injury, crippled for life.
