Hi Guys,
I've finally launched a full selection of leather straps, so I thought I'd introduce you to them.
We have 2 ranges:

- 20mm wide at case end, tapering to 16mm at the buckle
- Vegetable-tanned full-grain cowhide
- Hand-stitched with waxed nylon thread
- Edges finished with bee's wax

Regarding the veg tanned calf strap, if you get it wet then wet it all (both straps) it will then not be water stained and will all look the same. Regarding the shell strap, there is a stamp on the backside of the short strap which infringes trademark; no where on their hides will you find a stamp this small. Be careful you could be in for a law suit.
dmail thanks so much for info on preventing water mark, that’s really useful to know. These straps were made by JPM, one of the most renown strap makers. I’m pretty sure what they do is all above board. 👍🏻
@@BarkandJack What you do with the information is up to you, however I would personally seek clarification from the maker to find if they have the authority to use another companies trademark.
I was so happy to have a great wish for my birthday: A super cordovan strap. But now it is already sold out 😭
As a leather worker myself, I'm very happy to see this new line of leather straps. Beautifully done. On a side note, shell cordovan is not horse skin. It's actually a muscle membrane and is made of fibrous connective tissue found beneath the skin of the hide. Fantastic choices in aesthetics for your straps, however. Cheers!
Love JPM. He's the guy that supplied a lot of the iconic straps to the big collectors that did the classic Hodinkee Talking Watches episodes.
It's great that you are taking the time to research and design your product and to put out something that's top quality. Much better to put your name to quality than some cheap crap. Fair play Adrian, you're actually an inspiration.

Great video. I feel I’ve learned a lot about leather straps. Always felt that certain straps were tougher and less comfortable than others. Now I know why.
At last a Italian leather strap and JPM at that too. Also the shot of the Panerai boutique in Florence reminded me of when I bought a new piece in there a year ago.

I love your straps. However, here is the reason why I am not ordering straps from your store: namely, they do not come in different sizes. Indeed, premium straps should come in at least three different sizes: short, medium and long.
Ordered the Whisky Shell Cordovan Strap and Travel Spring Bar Tool just in time as I see the Cordovan is sold out! I'm in the U.S. so it'll be a few weeks! I'm planning to put the strap on a white dialed Omega Deville, so we'll see how it goes!

Wrapped edges. Yes it is a small detail but that's an attention to detail and a step beyond what most are prepared to do when producing straps. It's like when buying a belt; the cheaper ones have rough edges, the more expensive ones have burnished edges. You get what you pay for and those are some incredible strap and the workmanship looks phenomenal.
Looking at getting a Black Bay 41 and I think that taupe strap with quick release pins would look lovely on it :)
Hi Mike, I'm glad you picked up on that. Like watches, from afar many straps can look the same, but it's the detail up close that separate them.
The quick-release bars really make life so much easier.

Really glad you like the Natos. The B&J x JPM straps are fine if you get water on them, just dry it as soon as you can. Certainly don't put them in water, but they would be ok if you got rained on. Cheers, Adrian

I I'm looking for something like rustic Brown for my sbdc053 and my black Bay Steel and it's been harder than I thought it would be to get one that doesn't have honey or a red tone ..anyway straps look awesome!!! sorry I went off on a little tangent

Hi First thing I enjoy watching your you tube channel and appreciate the about of work involved. So thank you. I know at some time in the not to distant I will want to change a strap or two. The one thing that I would like to see you off is a butter fly clasp buckle. not sure if thats the right team But like on the Breitling Bentley watch. Thanks for some great videos have an amazing 2020.
I like the smooth taupe strap, fancy picking one up. Really like the cordovan but the no quick release is a deal breaker for me (i'm sure it's not there because of the single skin design), more options with quick release spring bars at the end of the market you are pitching these at would be very wise IMO. They suit what you are bringing to market. I've been avoiding so far cos spring bars on leather straps where the leather is stiff can be a nightmare to take off again when you fancy a change if the strap is really snug in between the lugs.
The only thing I don't like about the taupe strap is your pronunciation of it as "toop" as in hoop. Surely it's a "tawp" sound, I dunno, I think moving to Scotland has you talking kinda crazy! ;)
Would you be interested in ever making some watch rolls or some travel rolls for watches?

What would be great would be a strap roll that holds like 20 straps, no one seems to make a decent one.. every man and his dog makes watch rolls though

I had some Bulang&Sons straps and I‘m pretty sure they are also made by JPM and are even a little more expensive. So with ww shipping I may just give your straps a shot. But cant decide between the shell cordovan and the grey Jpm one for my 14060 🤔
Yeah Bulang&Sons use JPM too. The Whisky shell cordovan strap has lived on my 14060 for a while. I looks so good!
I noticed a number of people complaining about the price, I think given the care you have put into sourcing the manufacture and the type (quality)of leather your prices are reasonable.

Jack. I have ORIENT and CITIZEN watches that have 21mm and 23mm lug width. If you can find a supplier than can get that vintage style in those sizes that would be a real boon.

With your Explorer 1, have you had the problem of case-rub damage your straps? I really like the look of different straps on my Explorer (36mm) but the spring bar holes are relatively close to the case so most straps rub against the case and get damaged :(

Oh Danny Boy no they won’t unless he starts making a short version. I have similar wrist and I need something around 65/105. DeLugs makes some decent straps and various sizes
They probably won't fit. You should check out Colareb, they have amazing straps and also small sizes!

I particularly like the tan strap, but I am concerned about water damage. If I go over it with multiple applications of leather treatment such as mink oil or dubbin, will it be safe in light rain?

I might offer 21mm in the vintage straps, but it's unlikely in the JPM ones as there isn't a big demand for 21mm.

Not at the moment. I have thought about that and I'm currently undecided. I think the problem is, if I were to go gold, I'd want it to at least be plated with real gold, but then that can wear off and it would look bad.
Bark and Jack maybe you can have it as a special order so you wouldn’t have to have it in inventory. I have a few gold watches that I would like to wear on a strap. The strap wouldn’t look right unless it had gold hardware.
Really interested in your straps, but a lot of them are out of stock right now. How soon will they be available again? Also, I am in Spain, how will the strap be delivered? Post service? UPS? DHL?

Hi S Z, sorry some of the straps are out of stock. We have new leather straps arriving tomorrow and new nato straps in about 4 weeks. All orders are sent out via postal service. 👍🏻
Quick release options are NOT on the B&J website, at least not when viewing from US
