I remember seeing this trailer on my Star Wars: The Clone Wars Vol. 1 DVD. I thought it looked amazing. 8 years later, I finally bought the game on PC. Just as awesome as I thought it would be.
I wish this vision of Star Wars existed everywhere else. Everything from the terrifying super battle droids to how tall and powerful the Wookiee are to just how the droids sound. Perfection
To this day I still believe that this game is the scariest, most intense Star Wars game that has ever existed. There are some levels where I'm just creeped the hell out. Like the mission when you're in the super battle droid factory and have to make your way through hundreds of inactive super battle droids. I thought every single one was gonna turn on and kill me from behind

They are not going to make any game based on the imperials unl as they defect to the rebels later in the game. They are afraid that many fans will favor the imperials that they have to change the whole universe to make the imperials the good guys and the rebels the bad guys
I love how we can see an alternate version of the game with this trailer. Besides the general shape of everything on the HUD changing a little, there are quite a few changes. The circle on the bottom left was most likely for showing which squad formation you currently had active, and they probably removed it because it’s redundant since their health icons already show what formation they’re in. The grenade I con changed ever so slightly in that it now uses little boxes to show how many grenades you have instead of just a number. The ammo on the gun changed a little too. Instead of showing how many bullets you had total, it appears to represent how many magazines of ammo instead. It’s likely that the way ammo as a whole worked entirely differently in this build, suggesting a more methodical style of play.
you can tell for this trailer as well there was a lot more realism for delta squad than in the actual game but i honestly prefer what we got for republic commando with banter between the squad

Someone from the RC team confirmed that the sequel ideally was supposed to reveal that Sev is alive and is intricately involved in starting the rebellion against the empire.
You really have to take the tag line of "the squad is your weapon" to heart if you want to survive this game. idk about anyone else but this game even on normal game will kick your ass if you aren't effectively giving orders to your brothers or prioritizing targets. Once I started to take the tag line more to heart then the game got easier. Really sunk in after being alone on that cruiser tho.
Okay, men. It's time for us to request Star Wars Republic Commando for Next and Current Gen consoles. Higher Quality, better gameplay, creepy and action packed missions, make everything better. LET'S SPAM THE LIFE OUT OF THEM.

Hopefully some new games will be made to satiate our need for classics like this and JK with next-gen graphics and gameplay. They're probably going to be focusing on the Force Awakens era and Original Trilogy with game production, since acknowledging the prequels is sadly taboo. But I'm hoping at least a couple of devs will break the mold and do some Clone Wars games.

Honestly I have yet to see a game with good squad mechanics as this one. Mass Effect's squad system was pretty nice, but I think its not as good as Republic Commando's
+The Yellow Raven While I love this game to death, the squad mechanics are extremely simple and almost all of them are pre-determined. "Aim at door, press F to start door-breach" I mean it's not very in-depth or complex.
+Epicemissary They don't do stupid things though. With ME, since he mentioned it, your squad does nothing other than use the biotics you direct them to and occasionally get killed. It's likely possible to play a level on RC without 38 actually having to fire. It's also entirely possible for 38 to solo a level. There isn't anything wrong with simplicity, and it still holds as one of the best usages of a squad in games today.
I miss this game. I've played console and PC. A more modern RPG style that took off like this was Mass Effect. The first one held true to nostalgic sci-fi gameplay. All while adding story telling and cinematic interactive cutscenes.

With clone troopers? What is this new thing? But it was also really exciting, because it's actually a well-made trailer. I mean, just imagine being a kid and watching all the shit happening here. Some parts of this trailer even had me a bit on edge. Also, it was a Star Wars game. Need I say more? Plus, I had never seen graphics like that before. All I had at the time was a SNES and an N64. So I was like, "WHOA!" But now I have the game, after buying it on Steam during the holiday sale about 7 months ago, and I will admit, there is a bit of nostalgia going on because of this trailer, even though I still have yet to play it for the first time.
Lets' be honest, this game along with other Star Wars games and The Clone Wars show both micro series and 2008 series got us into more Star Wars stories outside the movies that expanded the universe.
I’ll never regret getting my mom to buy this game for me when I was only 6 years old at that time. I’m 25 now & I still got it, & I beat it as it still works to this day I’m never selling it.
I mean it's pretty much the same thing, I have spotted some differences here obviously the primitive visuals and audio for everything but there are some interesting encounters in here not in the final game like the infant geonosian dropping down on you and the geonosian elite popping up out of some rubble.
F-ing love this game. I do hope they make a good remaster or sequel. Or even make a star wars movie with a clone's perspective. Show the horrors of war instead of rainbow swords and daddy issues. I just want something better, everything feels the same nowadays.
SW Republic Commando is the first and the last time a SW game ever "got fucking real". All these other SW games are just plain bland happy happy joy joy pew pew pew BS and therefore, not a real man's Star Wars game. Also, gotta love the SWRC books and the Imperial Commando book too.
It was my first video game. I played it when I was 3 yo. At that time my uncle had PC and offered me to play in this game. I'll never forget the feeling that it brought to me. Everything seemed so wonderful and interesting. I don't remember if I had seen Star Wars movies before that moment but it was really fantastic. I especially liked the introduction part and replayed it for an hour maybe because I loved to see how clones become what they are. Also, there was uncle's save data with the moment somewhere on Geonosis and I couldn't go any further. Still, it's one of the hardest moments in the game for me. Then, I had a disk with it but it couldn't run on my PC and I didn't know why. So, I managed to play it on my mom's laptop. When I completed the game I was so sad that it was shot. Only 6 hours long. Still. this game made such a great impact on my life. If it wasn't for this game, I would never have become who I am. Thank you for reading this
When I first watched the trailer (as a special feature on the Clone Wars animated series DVD) I thought it was some sort of a horror/terror game or something. Now I haven't played Doom, but I've seen some videos about it, and it looks a lot like that, doesn't it?
They all sound the same to outsiders, but to each other? A commando can tell his vode apart just by the way they blink, so of course the ever so tiny variations in their accents would be noticeable to each other. The makers just exaggerated this so that we could tell them apart without having to spend ten years of intense training with them. It would also be incredibly boring if they were all voiced by Boss, let's be real.
You make a very good point. They probably can tell each other apart from small details. Blinking probably not. But the original clone voice wouldn't be boring as shown in this trailer. They don't all have the voice but they sound similar.
They gave some clones different voices because that is part of giving them their own character and personality. Plus, it makes us want to invest in them in terms of connecting with them. Also, in show the clone wars, they explained that since Jango Fett was killed, they had to stretch his DNA to make more clones. That resulted in clones with different characteristics, which makes sense.
the physics of the squad in this game are incredible. They said when they were making this game, that the animators watched and acted out squad maneuvers so they could replicate them into the game. Clearly it worked.
I love this game. It was such a cool Star Wars game through the eyes of the soldiers. I remember me and my friends would play the multiplayer a lot too. It was Star Wars style Halo haha.

So many good memories of this game. If they were to do a remake, I'd only change two things (besides obviously updating graphics): 1. Add the ability of taking cover 2. Allow 4 player Co-Op. That is all, besides that it was practically perfect.

the physics of the squad in this game are incredible. They said when they were making this game, that the animators watched and acted out squad maneuvers so they could replicate them into the game. Clearly it worked.
I love this game. It was such a cool Star Wars game through the eyes of the soldiers. I remember me and my friends would play the multiplayer a lot too. It was Star Wars style Halo haha.
I still play this game to this day

This trailer simply blew my mind when I first saw it. It took me a while to realize it was actually a starwars game.
I loved playing this game all the time growing up
So many good memories of this game.
If they were to do a remake, I'd only change two things (besides obviously updating graphics):
1. Add the ability of taking cover
2. Allow 4 player Co-Op.
That is all, besides that it was practically perfect.
