    I thought in C&C 3 it revealed Kane's true motives. He sacrificed millions of Nod lives, as well as the Temple to create a spike of tiberium energy that the Scrin picked up deep in space. It was then that he allowed the Scrin to land on earth and construct the towers. It was his ultimate plan to ascend even higher by traveling across dimensions through the towers.

    Kane himself was recovering from an injury of unknown origin that damaged the left side of his face. He was recovering in a tube while connected to CABAL. I assume his orders were through CABAL while recovering from that ordeal. In the last part of this, Kane had not calculated to be faced with both his own armies and GDI and the destruction of Cabal forced him to rally NOD under himself again while recovering with a machine over his face. (See Kane's Wrath)

      Tomahawkxxx Why make a deal with the Devil at all?
      What has EA published that was even half good?
      Only thing I can name is Battlefield 3 and that asked me to constantly download plugin for infinity plus 1 times.
      And what did EA do with C&C series? They ruined it by taking the buildings out of the game? Remember C&C4?

    • @Tomahawkxxx
      @Tomahawkxxx 8 лет назад

      +Jackal Muldipulus CABAL Why? Because of money ofcourse. EA made its fortune by buying well known and competent studios and then forcing then to dish out one shit game after another as fast as they can (knowing the games would sell well because of the develepers good name, and after the public figured that the games from their beloved studio are shit now, the EA would let it die). Even when they made the offer to westwood they already had the reputation, but when someone offers you enough money to spend next few decades of your life buying coke and hookers, its hard to say no.

      +Jackal Muldipulus CABAL And dont remind me of C&C4 man, I cant imagine how disappointed Joseph D. Kucan was, after spending so many years playing Kane and then ending the whole thing on such a down note, but he still had to do it because of his contract. Just sad.

    CABAL was originally an GDI EVA system that Kane had reprogrammed with his Mindset, his methodology. CABALs purpose was to claim the tacitus and incorporate it into itself. It could not and just one of Kane's plans became its primary directive. It sped up the process by experimenting on everyone. Once CABAL was destroyed, it was repaired and refined in the system Kane called LEGION. It fully incorporated the Tacitus and activated the plans anew, creating the Awakened and the Enlightened.

    The idea given here is that CABAL was only following what plans Kane had already made out. You were meant to feel that Cabal was against Kane's wishes, but it was not. The ending showed Kane and Cabal to let you know that this was all Kane's plan, though never did he expect the alliance that thwarted it.
    I do think Kane in C&C3 was very much the direction Westwood wanted to go with him at least the mystery with the Scrin and him. Something very otherworldly about him..

    • @Seriona1
      @Seriona1 6 лет назад +1

      I think what happened with CABAL going online went rogue because Kane wasn't aware of what was going on. CABAL's name hints that the AI programming is based on living people who's mind help shaped his so when Kane "died" everyone else programmed CABAL and sense most of these commanders who went rogue at first chance, CABAL simply followed these thoughts and turned and went stable after Kane was put back into the tank and woke up.

    If you pay close attention to the reappearance of CABAL's avatar in Kane's Wrath, you'll see that it is a blue face with missing facial tissue (look at the mouth)LEGION's backstory allows us to infer that CABAL, while still functional at the end of firestorm, is stripped down and used as the foundation for LEGION. As the campaign progresses, LEGION is upgraded and (obviously) given more power until he fulfills his destiny and interfaces with the Tacitus, giving him untold (and unexplained) power

  • @SoulKiller7Eternal

    In all honesty, C&C 3 & Kanes Wrath are my favorite of the entire series.
    I am really hoping to see a GOOD new C&C Tiberium universe game soon (where you actually BUILD A BASE). C&C 4 was a complete disaster.
    Anyway, C&C 3 is among the best by story line reasons. It shows the third war of the open battleground. It allows you to be the one who makes it all happen.
    Kanes Wrath puts you behind the scenes of what led up and what happens after it all. So...how did they repair the Tacitus?

    The ending may have indicated a follow-up plot where Cabal planned to merge with Kane to take control over Nod, but who knows where the plot would have gone really. EA ended this plotline basically, so one may really never know for sure what Westwood originally planned.

    Until Kane's Wrath. They did a few things to connect the two games but not much. The first few missions from the campaign, for instance, take place sometime between the events of TSFS and CnC3, with Kane using a new AI, presumably modeled after CABAL, to reunited Nod under a commander until Kane was ready to fully step forward. Then the AI was put to sleep until the events of CnC3.

  • @1wing1
    @1wing1 11 лет назад +5

    theres a huge storyline about all that, too bad EA abandoned it with C&C3.
    thing is, kane isnt "unkillable", cabal just creates clones of him, the inner circle and other good generals are kept in stasis, making for a tactician mastermind, but also creating the strong personality (flaws) cabal has. (manual states this)

  • @Michon00
    @Michon00 11 лет назад +1

    Nope, his and Kane's personailites merged, while Kane was in one of his tubes recovering. That's why he effectively won the TWIII and subsequently Ascended in Ascension Conflict. And MoK was his answer for a totally loyal army, without emotions, because he was certain human emotions and their failure led to Nod's defeat in TWI and TWII.

  • @shadowgeek101
    @shadowgeek101 11 лет назад +1

    They didn't "ditch" the plot, Kane's directives were "reassessed". With CABAL's central core decimated, he ceased to be a sentient AI; computing power was lost. So, with the time between Firestorm conflict and the beginning of Kane's Wrath, Kane redesigned CABAL into the prototype of LEGION, and then unleashed the AI on the world, starting with the great Rio Insurrection.
    It follows a pattern... it's when C&C4 comes out that everyone's like WTF.

  • @KineticRhyme
    @KineticRhyme 12 лет назад +1

    I think Kane's only "directive" to CABAL was to retrieve the tacitus while he regenerates his wounds. CABAL has his own mind, so maybe he thought about "controlling" NOD and taking over the world, sorta like Kane but in a different way.
    At least, that's how I see it.

  • @thebel89
    @thebel89 12 лет назад

    Yes, there is missing link between TSFS and C&C3. Westwood was going to make game, but it was cancelled. That is why there is no connection between events in TSFS and C&C3. There is only intel about that time when you play campaigns in C&C3. But that game wouldn't include Kane, because he was hiding and making plans.

    0:37 - It's funny to imagine the Nod leaders actually eating the whole 'candid surveillances' thing, which are obviously a student project made by a 15 year old animator (no real offense to Westwood Studios animators who have done an admirable job at the time).

  • @TigerSaber1
    @TigerSaber1 12 лет назад +1

    Actually, Kane and Cabal are two separate beings. After the end of Tiberian Sun, it looks like Kane has been somehow put into CABAL's well.. core. CABAL is made out of people in those "jars". Their unified consciousness makes CABAL whole. Sort of a unified brain. So, with Kane inside this core, his mind affected CABAL's thinking as he was added to the hive mind. This "union" cause CABAL to act as such in the Firestorm campaing.

  • @TheKhive

    • @stevenbodnar4559

      No CABAL was an AI created by Kane to create the Marked of Kane (the secret Cyborg Army). After the destruction of Cabal's main core the remnants were merged with the updated LEGION AI to access the underground Cyborg Army. Kane is Kane.

  • @PregnantOrc
    @PregnantOrc 11 лет назад +3

    Oh wow. Loads of theories based on the later games. I just assumed that the CABAL seen in the end was at some sort of backup station and the Kane in the tube was a clone that he matched his speech pattern to during the end and that the Kane first seen in any follow-up game would be a fake, presenting a who is the real one dilemma to the characters (and players who did not finish Firestorm).
    Ah well. As long as I stay away from the later installments I can keep that as head-canon

    • @burninghalls

      From what I gathered playing Command and Conquer. The original Kane survives the ion cannon strike and i think was standing on a platform that lowers to a bunker. There he survives until Tiberian Sun. He must of envisioned a GDI victory again and knew that this time he was going to be stabbed by mcneil with that shard of tiberium (at least thats what I think it was) or metal. That room and missile was full of liquid tiberium and i bet by that time Kane is a mutant. In the videos he looks like he did in Command and Conquer through real time video manipulation so that he would look strong like GDI didn't even scratch him. I am guessing after the events of Tiberian Sun that Nod soldiers find him and take him to CABAL's core and put him in one of the Tanks so that he would become part of CABAL and command him more directly. Id say that CABAL has a hidden directive programmed into himself that he must protect Kane at all cost. I bet this is why CABAL takes over in Firestorm to get rid of anyone in CABAL and Kanes way. A world with Just CABAL and cyborgs and mutants is what Kane wanted anyway. For some reason Command and Conquer 3 Kanes Wrath explains how NOD even found Kane again. After Tiberian Sun CABALs core at least the surface level must of been destroyed with CABALS tanks entact in the basement so Kane recuperated and found his way out of there and somehow programs a new AI based on CABAL - Legion. I'm betting after CABAL killing off most of the families that were part of the brotherhood of nod that they would never accept CABAL again so we get boring old Legion. Yet it seems like CABAL is Kane and Kane is CABAL or CABAL is based off Kane either way CABAL is somewhat still around and should of made a return. In CNC 3 Kane tricks GDI to use the Ion Cannon again and escapes getting attacked by it again leaving GDI to defend earth from the Scrin while nod in the background has its own struggles and eventually captures the Scrin tower and the whole campaign ends with yay the Scrin are gone but NOD is still there at the Tower but oh well because they aren't doing anything to us unless we go into that area we are fine. Worst ending ever really. CNC 4 never happened for me so yeah. Yet in that you see either Kane enters the Scrin tower portal or doesn't and dies. What made CABAL so awesome was although he was a computer he could interface with humans in tanks and use their brain power as processing power which is probably why he could reactivate so fast as well as being able to fully translate the tasitus along with a bit of help from Tratos and Kane. Still Thanks to that asshole Andrew Wilson who single handedly has destroyed EA with his stupid need for micro transactions we will probably never see any continuation for Command and Conquer. That and without the original creators there is no one with a good enough mind to continue on the lore.

      Remember that they explained this in Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wraith. The Black Hand are not in favor of robotic technology because it goes against their religion around Kane, remember they had a hard time adopting the Avatar War Mech for their faction. However since CABAL was a central command AI, I guess it didn't matter or Slavik being loyal to Kane accepted it as his will. However, it also makes sense the Black Hand doesn't use Cyborgs for personal defense, they use the Elite Cadre.

      That was a stupid excuse for not bringing actor back who was playing Slavic. Slavic was a very strong character and he survived GDI execution, second Tiberium War and CABAL's insurrection. He was the leader of the Black Hand division of NOD. so arguably he was the strongest leader until Kane's return. Tiberium Wars' biggest mistake was not to follow Tiberian Sun storyline directly but to create their own stories ignoring what has happened before which was lame.

    • @Seriona1
      @Seriona1 6 лет назад +2

      In the defense of the story given, it made sense why Slavic was killed. The Black Hand was a secret organization, no one inside Nod knew it existed except the Inner Circle. So when Slavic came out and said the Black Hand is here, it pissed off a lot of people in side the Black Hand that didn't like they were exposed and because they are fanatic as fuck for Kane, it lead to Slavic being shot. So in a sense, it's not shitty writing per say however I do agree that I don't like the fact the most well beloved Nod character next to Kane himself was killed in such a weak way. I mean Kane literally said Slavic was his successor, that in itself says a lot.
