It’s cool that this works for you. ADHD probably manifests differently in you and me, because there’s no way I would ever be able to sit down and reference old notes to create a chapter summary.
Yeah like 99% of the stuff out there that supposedly helps ADHD is really just productivity techniques for the folks with very mild cases lol. Medication and knowledge of self are the only things that really work at a certain point of severity.
Not if you don’t see value in it. I surprised myself because I have (unmedicated) ADHD that interferes seriously with my life. I started doing Morning Pages-daily journaling, basically -and I have surprised myself with my ability to stick with it. Habit creation is normally very difficult for me. But the value it has brought is immense, and I’ve made the experience as positive as possible so that keeps me coming back. My point is, if you don’t see the value in a journal summary you’re not UNABLE to do it with ADHD, it’s just unlikely you would feel motivated to overcome the difficulties in order to do it.
I do something similar to the more of/less of page; One of the first pages I create in a new journal is a `journal setup` page and I keep a list of what to do differently in my next journal. This was incredibly helpful for my first 10 journals.
I noticed I was budgeting my journal space, so I switched to a less expensive notebook. Right away, I started paying more attention to my entries and getting more out of the work. Subtle sabotage, but the attention is paying off. 🙏
I just started on my old journals I never used and man I’m learning a lot like recently instead of writing a whole page I can just summarize what I want to say by a few lines and using different words. Man I’m so glad I finally started journaling
Ohmygosh now i understand that an adhd person made the system so it works on me!! Ive been doing this for years even before i was diagnosed and i thought it was the best idea anyone ever had & super effective! So thank you!
I’m not as fast for notebooks used. A5 notebooks are about a year useful for me. I may be a bit more towards a half year usage going forward though with having recently been through a BuJo and Beyond cohort and gaining more understanding about what I had lacked in my reading of the book. We’ll see. Though my life is rather less busy than most other people.
I use 4 notebooks per year, and definitely like this ritual for each notebook. I've found I often used to have to refer back to previous notebooks for certain collections I need to access long-term. I had started to migrate everything I thought I would need from the previous notebook to the next notebook each quarter, but it became such a chore. How often do you refer back to previous notebooks? Where are they stored, and are you sometimes disappointed they aren't with you at the moment you need them? And if it's information you think you'll need again, do you then migrate it for the next notebook? I now carry around 2 notebooks together (in the same carrier), one of them being a notebook of long-term collections. I replace this notebook every 1.5 years. It has been working out really well for me since a few years now.
JashiiCorran keeps a "long term collections" journal separate from her day-to-day. She has some videos about it! She's more aesthetic, but still a lot of good content.

@@andrewp5732Why compare your ADHD with someone else’s? You can’t tell how much another person does or does not struggle.
@@The_Winsome_Pixie yeah, I’m misdirecting my frustration if I’m being honest with you. Sorry lol
@@andrewp5732 I totally understand the frustration. Good on you for recognizing it. Not everyone is capable of introspection.
Been using this since I watched your video about it. Have been doing it monthly and quarterly as part of my reflection :)

The best thing I ever did was start journaling in a cheap composition notebook. It took a lot of stress off and let me focus on the writing!

This is a good idea for monthly use. I'm going to try it for the remainder of the year.
I have the same yearly rhythm of finishing notebooks ❤
Genius bro. I love using my bullet journal. I showed a buddy the getting started video today.
Please make this into a longer video! Would love to learn more about this process and try it out!!
Oh, this is sooo good! Definitely adopting this! Thanks!

I love this !!

Love that
On his way to redoscovering Joe Dominguez's, "Your Money or Your Life", but for time spent instead of money spent.

What pen do you use? I've been hunting for one that writes nicely!
I really like the Drehgriffel - it is very smooth and satisfying to write with
So wait, Ryder, you used your BuJo notebooks as your actual school notebooks?
He used the system, the branded notebooks came after, obviously
Of course, you must say ADHD
