I really feel like his downfield struggles are almost purely mechanical. He throws like a pitcher a lot where he over strides and winds up with too wide a base , it wastes so much motion and he loses air on the ball. outside the pocket he has elite arm talent to fit passes into guys on the sideline .
This is what i know aboit him and I'm not a Michigan fan. He looses almost NO velocity on his throws when he scrambles. He has a rubberband for an arm. Supper elastic. He keeps his eyes down filed looking to throw even when he runs which is what makes Pat Mahomes so special. In comparison, Jayden drops his eyes as soon as he looks to run. He is a team first player and a class individual. He is good friends with Raiders qb Aiden Occonnel. Watch his video talking about how much he loves Aiden and is happy for his sucess. Lastly he is the toughest qb in the draft. Fearless. You have to be plating for Harbaugh. He is only 21 and started a season and a half. Tons to work with and tons of room to grow. Someone will take him in the first for the 5th year option and grow him out. Would t surprise me at all to see him become the best nfl qb in this class.
Vikings would be a good home for him. Sign Cousins for 2 years and snag him in the second round. Justin Jefferson, Addison, TJ Hokanson would do good by him
That would be an ideal situation for him and the Vikings. Kirk Cousins throws one of the best touch passes in the league, McCarthy would benefit from having him as a mentor. McCarthy’s only flaw is that he lacks a good touch pass. Once he develops that, he’ll be dangerous in the NFL. Especially with Jefferson, Addison and etc. to throw to.
He was asked to throw the ball a few times because it wasn’t about him and is never about him. He did what a great player does, listen to the coach, and do whatever it takes to win the game. Whether he had throw 50 times or 10 times. He’s unselfish and the team who drafts him will have a special player.
QB's with this much potential are guys you want to lock up for a long time at a guaranteed rate. So he's better as a late first round pick than in the second round. My guess is Seattle or LA would consider drafting him in the first round.
He has a canon, what are you talking about? Did you actually watch any full games before making this video? And he is incredible at extending the play. What in the F are you talking about?
stop glazing, he throws in straight line because his arm is not strong enough when he needs to throw it with touch (arc). yes u have to deliver the football faster with arc (less hang time in the air is required) so it doesn't get intercepted or so u take advantage of small throwing windows so they don't get contested.
He will be a first round with out a doubt he is better than some of these Qb you are thinking of people don't understand that Michigan runs a pro offense and is not his fault that Michigan don't throw like some other schools if you take any college Qb and play them in that system they would have the same type of numbers JJ had. If he played at USC his passing numbers would be crazy.
I don't see how anyone can have JJ going in the first round. He's a 3rd round QB. Now don't get me wrong, he could become a Montana and surprise us all, but the accuracy, arm talent, processing and decision making aren't premium (his 116 rating compared of others north of 160 speaks to that). He is quite mobile though, but he doesn't have the stature of an Allen, so no round 1 grade for me.

I feel like he'd be perfect in LA behind Stafford for a year
nah staffords still too good
Love this comp, he’s a similar player where he’ll make some risky big throws . But is a good athlete and good arm .
@@ardenkey. Staffords still good but with is injuries and his age I could see him retiring after next year
I think LA would be a great fit for him, give him time to develop his mind and body and learn from Stafford.
Sheesh, the mystery of Stetson Bennett… if the Rams do get McCarthy, then sure, maybe he can develop and jump in front of Bennett
How about some video of his play?

@@armen_ar323 are u crazy? this guy is a bust
@@77racing71 You don’t know shit about football. Shut up.
Him with one of the young offensive coaches like Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik would go crazy.
Strongly agree
For real
He checks every box including touch, his own player shielded the defensive player on that interception.
Where do you get these advanced stats
He doesn't know 😅😅😅😂😂

Seahawks or Broncos just seem right for this kid. Playmaker might be the steal of the draft.
Spencer Rattler would be a great video!
He's going rise on his tools alone..vikings at 11 under o connell and those weapons is a good fit

He reminds me so much of daniel Jones as a player it’s terrifying

Saints draft him to develop behind Carr 😤
Bruh no. If it ain’t JD5 we just need to draft an edge rusher lol
He will be a top 12 qb.....book it!!!
Kind of a curious assessment of JJ...noting a lot of things that you and I do not actually know.
He would be great as a Ram, sit behind Stafford for a year or two.
NFL draft anylst have JJ as 1st or 2nd QB taken.
Joe Milton or Michael Pratt!?!?
Neither
Viking
Joe Milton
The Falcons should get him
We take Turner at 8 and him in round 2, would be a W draft. Sign a veteran like Kirk to help develop him and it’ll work out.
