Thrift stores are the best for finding trash to treasures to recycle and sell for profit. I still make it a point to find out from management if they use the monies for underprivileged or not.
Goodwill was not started for DIYers to buy stuff cheap, recycle and make a profit. Goodwill was started to help the mentally challenged/underprivileged with educational and vocational programs.
I love thrifting and the higher prices will not stop me from shopping there. If I won a big lottery, I would still buy from thrift stores. I also buy there to decorate my home. However, I wish their profits went to the needy more than they actually do. On top of their high prices, they are now asking us to round up our amounts to help the illiterate which is what our sales were supposed to be doing in the first place. Higher prices hurt those who buy in thrift stores for stuff for their homes who don't resell. They also can afford less and less. I appreciate your honest opinion. Happy thrifting my friend!
