    Looks like I was lucky that I still have to wait for my ESCs to arrive - in the meantime you resolved all the problems I didn't have yet 😅.
    That is great, thank you so much and keep up the good work!

    I just modded my son's regulator with the drop in kit ver 3 it was supposed to be ver 2 but we got lucky. It went from 60 fps to over 90 with elite darts on only 8.3 v I used two 1850's in a series it was the perfect upgrade from 6v the v3 mod kit can go up to 16v

    I have a regulator, and some old drone parts. I was wondering if I could use my RCTIMER brushless motors for this build. I also wanted to ask how you wired that for the motors. Because I know that the brushless motors have three wires instead of the normal two on small little brushed motors. I have some ESCs and know how to sotter everything. But I don't know how to hook up the brushless motors to the nerf gun...

    Do you have and for the Rival Nemesis?

    Thank you so much for updating the stryfe cage and flywheels. That should solve all the problems that I am having making my stryfe work. Works fine for about 30 shots and then all hell break lose. The cage looks so much better. The only thing I wish it had is that I didn't have to unsolder everything to put a new cage in. On cage 3 :( but hoping these new cages will be the last, plus I will be printing them instead of getting them off someone else.
    A note of the thread lock. I loaded the hell out of mine and was perfect until the motors started to run. The motors got so hot that the thread lock acted like it wasn't there. Also could have been that I lost most of the goop when screwing threw the plastic.

    You're amazing will be buying these very soon! just got into nerf modding and fell in love with the regulator but i blew up the board on 2 already and final found a strong wiring set up and now wanna add some juice.

    would you recommenced adding a fan to cool down the motors, or do they not get hot enough

    did you fix the voltage regulator problem? were you able to run a 2S in it?

      hello much has changed since this video .. but 2s will never be supported because there is no reason for it...

    • @vincewazzah7917
      @vincewazzah7917 5 лет назад

      2S isnt that much from 6v. My reason for it is its easier to have rechargeable lithium than burning through C batteries.

    what brushless motors did you use?

    hey there can you tell me how to get the mag feed to work on the regulator with an arduino set up

    • @Ultrasonictwo

      i'll let you know when it's working

    • @phmaximus
      @phmaximus 6 лет назад

      Best way would be to make ur own code.....
      Assuming there is already a code for the PWM control to the ESC so just expand on that and experiment with different run times for the feed belt?

    I don't think I saw that yet. Anyway, just an idea

      Well that cos it hasn't worked for years and im not sure i have the parts for... still before i can get it going i need to do a gen 2 cage and it will take some time to come up with the money to pay for the parts for it. When really i should be buying a second Regulator cos they are MUCH better than the RS will ever hope to be. The RS suffers from small wheels and a long barrel :(.. in theory if you want the max FPS there is only one goto blaster now and that the Regulator.. unfortunately it will take a bit of time for the Stryfe party to realize this .... come just the FB page a man.

      Flywheel Dan yes it is already under way. It is a complete from the ground up redesign of the stryfe rs cage. Should be a good improvement

    I'm really excited by this mod and your work. Have you taken a stab at figuring out how to get short darts to work with the conveyer system?

    Hey I hope you reply to this comment. Is there a way where you can mod my Regulator for me? I can cover everything to deliever it to you and back to me and of course including what needs to be installed. Thank you so much!

    can you make cantered flywheels?

    • @Ultrasonictwo
      @Ultrasonictwo  6 лет назад

      no that doesn't work with high concavity wheels

  • @professord.andflywheel6618
    @professord.andflywheel6618 6 лет назад +1

    Hello. Don't be surprised if you don't get an increase in FPS with larger wheels.I trailed a 62mm pair of wheels on brushless and there was no increase in FPS. And then they came lose and left me with a scar. But no increase in FPS, however you know far more than I do about this stuff. Could you put the .step files for the cages and the wheels on thingiverse, so we can integrate them into different things. cheers
    PS also the moment force on that flywheel, especially large diameter flywheels can tear the motors a part. I have done this as well.
    In short, there is a lot of pressure on the wheels where the dart meets; and it create a lever on the centre of the wheel. The larger the wheel, the larger the fulcrum...therefore motor damage.
    You had something that worked excellently......and then you messed with it. You need to make a test rig. I can do this for you (contract out some work) if you wish.
    And my aim is to create a free modular fully 3D printable nerf gun that uses brushless and arduino, to let the community take full control of their hobby.

      With my limited understanding of physic i believe at least in theory that increasing wheel diameter should result in higher FPS.
      1) Increased surface contact with the dart.
      2) The radius of the Wheels is greater in comparison to the darts diameter. thus making it easier to crush.
      3) Increased momentum, which is useful after it's spun up.
      4) Increase surface velocity .. Which is currently a limiting factor.
      As you've said "instant on" maybe to much stress on the motor/Wheels /Cage and if so acceleration can be reduced via the ESC
      Resulting FPS from a Flywheel blaster can be boiled down to two simplistic factors.
      A) Dart Grip... B)Wheel Surface FPS.... both are equally important and increased FPS can only be achieved while increasing both.
      But im not Professor.

    • @phmaximus
      @phmaximus 6 лет назад

      im wondering, in theory there should be a increase of FPS if the motors are still at the same RPM and have larger wheels due to the outer edge traveling faster.
      Im thinking.... not all motors are equal and some have built in timing.... I think with the exact same setup u could see some massive variations on FPS from different brand/quality motors.
      another thing that IMO would be worth playing around with is the Flywheel weight and balance... id recommended increasing the weight until u can notice the start up slowing down
