      I'm just putting the finishing touches on it this week, hoping to upload on the weekend... And then finish up part 3 (the cape) in the next two weeks or so - definitely before Hallowe'en!

    My daughter sent this to me to follow for her costume this year. It will be a feat to do this for sure!! I'm also looking for a cut sheet if you had something like that. Also, we named our cat the same!!

    • @Lossien
      @Lossien  2 года назад

      I unfortunately don't have a cut sheet, but I gathered about a meter of each fabric, and 3m of the purple to make my skirt. I'm a 30" waist and 40" hip, if that helps at all!
      (I did a meter of each as I was trying not to spend too much money on all the bits, as the main purple fabric and the bodice fabric had cost a decent amount! It ended up being the right amount for me)

    Okay, I have so many questions.
    Are you sewing the bodice and skirt together? If not, why isn’t there directions on how to actually sew the skirt together? Like the layering is nice, but im just trying to make the skirt separate than the bodice… how do you sew all the layers together, with the waistband flap down?

    • @Lossien
      @Lossien  2 года назад

      Ah, I'm so sorry it took me so long to see this!
      I kept the skirt and bodice separate. All of the skirts were layered together, and pinned, and then I sewed through all of them to the waistband. Since they had all been basted, I lined up the basting lines (that thread that had been gathered) and it created a flatter section that my machine was able to sew through to the edge of the waistband, with the waistband on the front of all of the fabric.
      Then I flipped the waistband over to the inside, so it was a nice edge along the front, folded over the top, and wrapped around the back. I put a fold on the inside, just past that last sewing line (so that the stitched from the last sewing line were hidden by the fold). Then I 'stitched in the ditch' on the good side of the skirt - this meant I sewed just where that last waistband seam was on the front, so my stitches were hidden by the seam, and it caught the waistband on the inside.

    If you don't mind me asking what type of beads did you use for the center of the flowers

    hiii did i miss where you added the two flaps of purple fabric on either side of the skirt? trying to figure out what the best way to add those onto the skirt would be

    • @Lossien
      @Lossien  3 года назад +1

      From my research, they're actually just a part of the normal skirt! I went down the front edge of the purple part of the skirt, about 1/3 of the way, and pinched the edge with my fingers. I pulled that pinched part up to the skirt waistband, so that the extra fabric folded on top, and then stitched just the pinch down, so that it was folded at the front, and left the rest. It made the perfect shape. (please le me know if that isn't clear and I can clarify in another video!)

      @@Lossien I can't figure this part out :( any chance you would make a short video showing this??? Also I think the bodice is out of my wheel house. Any chance you make them to sale ? Without the time consuming beading? This is my fav movie and have been trying to make this costume for years 😫

    I was wondering about how many yards you used of each fabric?

    • @Lossien
      @Lossien  2 года назад

      If I remember correctly (this was a few years ago), it was about a meter of everything, except the purple for the main skirt, which was closer to 3m. I'm about a 40" hip, do it may change depending on your shape and size!

    Do you by any chance have the instructions in written form anywhere? I need to translate it into Spanish for someone 😂

      Unfortunately I don't! I'm still trying to figure out how to do captions and such - trying to balance sharing my creations with work and life :/
