My issue with Wiggins is that he seems to have no drive, no motor! He should be locking up dudes with that length and athleticism. Look at Kawhi and Butler, they were lottery picks that had to develop under the radar BUT they went after it every night by first using their defense and energy until they developed into elite two way players. Wiggins has been given the keys since day one and is a tremendous athlete so there no reason why at this stage of his career he has not turned into one of the better two way players of the league.
KAT is actually extremely efficient and goes under the radar when taking about the top centers. The only reason he’s less talked about is because he’s the only good player on the T-Wolves. (I know my comment isn’t related to yours, just sayin)
Thewiimaster Wiggins has giving up already. He got lazy out of no where for some reason and his numbers are gonna keep going down because of that. KAT gotta himself outta there before he wastes all of his prime in Minnesota.

I think all of you are jumping the shark. Remember. Oladipo looked like a bust until his 5th year, and he was 25. The reason he still isnt considered a bust is because the Pacers gave him an opportunity. If Wiggins is given a similar opportunity, i guarantee he will impress everybody. After all, he is only 23.
@@gorandragic1728 false. Oladipo NEVER looked like a bust. Idk why yal act like Oladipo wasnt the talk of the town his rookie season. He was doing his thing in Orlando. That team was on the rise with him tobias Harris and Vucevic before that dumb Serge ibaka trade that sent him to OKC. He was clutch, had some big games and was a really good defender from day 1. His only issue was consistency, and his fit in the starting lineup next to elfrid payton. The only questionable year he had was in OKC.
S C Vic oladipo the 2nd pick in the 2013 draft was given away by the magic for serge ibaka. After the year with the thunder, people called him trash. It wasn’t until his 5th season where he exploded. I’m not saying Wiggins is oladipo, no where close. But I could see some similarities if Wiggins were to be traded to a team where he is the #1 option
Send It Olidipo didn’t get nice because he became the first option. He was the first option in Orlando and was average, then he learned from Westbrook what is means to be competitive. And he’s stated this, and worked on himself even more. Wiggins gets plenty of touches he just doesn’t have the competitive dog in him. And he’s running mate KAT plays for big numbers it’s a shit show
@@derrickrose8963 Oladipo was good before that. Just in OKC he didn't get the ball much at all due to ball hogging from Westbrook. Wiggins has regressed, so idk how you can even compare the two.
The best comparison I can give for Andrew Wiggins is Jamal Mashburn.. A 6'8 Guard who takes mid range shots, Shoots 40% and averages 18-19 points a game.
He's Corey maggette reincarnated. 100 percent. Smooth, silky game and a freakish athlete who can shoot the midrange and is inconsistent from three. Horrible on defence and doesn't make his team/teammates better. Black hole on offense. Nonexistent record in the playoffs.
He's the crazy talented athlete that doesn't really love playing the game but does so as long as there is a team willing to pay him. He's the athlete who chills permanently once he signs his first contract. They'll spark up their play in contract years but otherwise, they play the same disappointing game all their careers & wind up out the league at 30. Andrew is heading towards that same path. The happiest he's ever looked was when he was drafted. He only plays hard against the Cavs or LeBron & that's simply because he was traded. Once he signed that 150m contract, he's been on chill mode. Towns would be wise to demand a trade. He'll waste his prime playing with someone who doesn't give a fuck as long as the check clears.
Andrew isn't consistent yet, but he's growing more so with each passing game. Give the guy a break, he's only 23 and has about 6,500 more points than Larry Bird had at the same age... He's the seventh youngest player to reach 7,000 points, and after 4.6 years with the Wolves he's already their second all-time leading scorer behind KG... You wrote: "He only plays hard against the Cavs or LeBron." My reply: You're wrong. Did you watch the last game against the Celtics? He went off for 40 PT 10 RB 5 AST... There are many, many examples that refute your claims. That's not to say that Andrew is a finished product, far from it... He's still growing both physically and mentally, and lets judge him when he's in the 25-28 age range after he's been in a stable organization that doesn't constantly rotate coaches and personnel around him. He needs stability, as they all do... KAT is just further along in his growth process and Andrew will eventually catch up, and when he does, watch out...
@1994 The key word you used is "athlete". In America everyone goes nuts over some freakishly athletic kids and overdraft them, without having the fundamentals or iq for the game. That's also why most european players are overlooked, like 90% of them or if they are white 99% reach a reasonanble athleticism at about 22-23, but 18-19 year olds are slow footed. In Europe kids are trained physically just to have the stamina to finish the game, whereas fundamentals take the majority of the time. It's the opposite in NA and Wiggins, despite him being from Canada, just proves it, as many others also do. Athletic young guys jumping and dunking over kids in high school or first year in college is no measure for basketball intangibles.
@@22Varg Here's a small sample of his basketball intangibles, NTasev. You're obviously NOT privy to what Andrews all about or just how high his ceiling is at the young age of 23. ruclips.net/video/RU98Kp_IOnU/видео.html
Fable Zero Iverson had Cornrows but he was ROTY and a few years later a league MVP Kawhi had cornrows but that didn’t stop him from winning championships DPOY award and being a Finals MVP with San Antonio and Toronto Inexcusable
And now he is on the Warriors - oh boy, this could end up both ways. To be fair the Minnesota Timberwolves isn't exactly the best organization that you'd want to play for and let's face it, Kevin Garnett would've had more than a single championship ring if he played elsewhere. With Wiggins being on a better organized franchise like Golden State Warriors, he may be better off there. But the issue is with his attitude - he doesn't give a sh*t. Jimmy Butler said that the players on the T-Wolves are too soft and seemingly don't care about improving or contributing more - he could be refering to only KAT, Wiggins or both in general. If he has the same carefree attitude in Golden State under coach Kerr and veterans like Steph, Klay and Draymond Green, then the Warrors traded D'Angelo Russell (pairing him with his BFF KAT) for nothing (they have the T-Wolves' Top 3 protected 1st round pick though)
I agree, and its really hard to give him the possible late bloomer label since he has had all the opportunity in the world to show what he could do. Hell even d’angelo is starting to take control of his career and is doing way better than wiggins. When i noticed he was dipping last year, i thought it was due to jimmy butler being there. But now that both butler and thibs is gone, he’s still not showing effort. I dont think he has ever the drive to become a great player. The man has had high expectations since high school. He probably didnt even see himself becoming all that, just wanted to play in the nba, do enough for a nice contract and thats it.
19.4PPG for his career cannot be a BUST. It's disappointing since he can be Derozan if he wanted to. Maybe he needs to go to the Spurs and get some real coaching.
What i like about Wiggins is that he never misses a game: he missed only 1 game out of 370 which is amazing. 19.5 ppg is not bad either, he will score between 19k-22k
Honestly I think what no one is really talking about is that if he played back in the late 90’s early 2000’s he would have been a lesser version of Kobe without as good of a three point shot that would improve overtime and end up being a few time all-star all-nba player but lazy
As a Grizzles fan, I remember at the start of the Grit and Grind era, he was viewed as their best player. However, in 2011 the Grizzles played better after he got hurt, and made it to the second round of the playoffs. Came within a win of the WCF, and due to that season being an outlier where the NBA was wide open, they had a real shot at the title. The next year, when Gay was healthy, the Grizz got upset by LAC in the first round. After, they traded him the follwing year, they made the Conference Finals. Toronto also became great in 2013-2014, after trading him.
I just said the same thing on a highlight video of his a few weeks back. He's currently a bench player. His NBA ceiling has been met, and it's as a semi productive bench player. A.W. might go down in history as the most hyped and grossly overpaid role player in NBA history.
ive always been a Wiggins fan but I didnt realize it's YEAR 5 and he's averaging 17 PPG holy shit at this point he's just a jason richardson Quentin richardson level role player wow
The media hyped Wiggins too much as a generational star, that’s not a bust even without being a 2nd best player on a Warrior team in the NBA finals, winning a championship. He’s a great two way player.

I think Mike Korzemba thinks that Lonzo Ball is a bust because he isn't "Steph Curry with a 40 inch vertical." Lonzo is in his 2nd season and at the very least putting up good stats as a sophomore in LA so it's too early to label him as a bust. Wigs is in his 5TH SEASON! At least have the stats a bit higher or some effort should not be non-existent. Luka Doncic is having a better season in a handful of months than Wigs does in 5 fucking years. This is why mediocre players like Andrea Bargnani is labeled as a bust as well.
Before and after the draft, I saw his interviews, heard him speak about being a leader and being all about winning, and I thought: "I don't believe you." I saw him topping out at somewhere where Mavs-era Harrison Barnes was.
Back when everyone said that Wiggins and Parker were going to be the next faces of the NBA. It's crazy to see how times have change. Parker could have been a borderline all star before injuries, but now he's getting DNPs/traded. Wiggins have everything possible to be a generational talent, but it's a shame that his basketball IQ and lack of effort holds him back. I still think he could be better than just an above average offensive player, but he needs to change. On a side note, who would have thought that Embiid, the player almost everyone was calling the worst bust in NBA history just 2 seasons in, would be one of the best players in the NBA.
I think Wiggins is a bad player, his play isn't effecient, he doesn't win games, he takes too many shots and his "defence" is pure athleticism, not IQ. This being said, the timberwolves are a badly run organisation top to bottom and maybe in a different system, situation and under a coach who can persuade him to work on his 3s, his D and his ability to drive and kick/score at the basket, he could become an all star. He just needs a change of situation but idk any teams who would take that contract
Maybe Miami could take a swing at him? If the Timberwolves were smart they'd gladly take Goran Dragic, Josh Richardson and a salary filler to get off the contract and give the team a chance to put good passers and 3pt shooters around KAT. They're not tho, so they wouldn't and I honestly don't know that this would even be worth it for Miami when you think they might have a couple max contract slots in the same Free Agency that Giannis is available and if anyone could persuade the Greek Freak to leave Milwaukee, it'd be Pat Riley
Rudy Gay was on a less talent team? U trippin... the Grizz had a squad when they had Rudy gay, n they would have won more games if he would have passed the damn ball. Mike Conley, Marc Gasol, Z-Bo, Tony Allen, Rudy Gay, OJ Mayo ain't enough talent to you? U big trippin bro, still fuck w your vids tho
His body has also been the biggest sign he hasn’t given the effort to improve. Giannis damn near gained 40 pounds of muscle by his fifth season. Wiggins has been at least 195/200 pounds since he’s been in college. He needs to hit the fucking weight room. If this man doesn’t come in next year at around 220 I’m officially calling him a bust. That extra muscle will help him finish through contact and play more physical defense
wiggins is a less skilled demar derozen. Both him and demar are athletically gifted but demar learn to draw fouls.. and later iso.. and then shoot the 3
Hard work beats talent when talent doesnt work hard. - This quote is so true for so many players who carry themselves through highschool and college and the first few years in the nba on athleticism and bodytype. These front offices need to stop rewarding these players.
I don't like that definition of a bust because I find it unfair. I think busts should be based on expectation of the pick you were chosen at, not just how people viewed you. Obviously, I don't think Wiggins is a bust and definitely think a player who has averaged 24 PPG in his third season still has the potential to become an all star.
Justin Pennie no because a lot of expectations for Wiggins were ATG expectations, not just #1 pick expectations. Bogut was picked #1 overall and no one calls him a bust. Not only that but LOW is purposely using WIGGINS worse season as evidence throughout the video without even acknowledging the potential mental rollercoaster Wiggins has gone through with all this jimmy butler bullshit
@@ohmangoddamn1986 Good lord people are still making excuses. 1. His current season IS his worst season, hence why LOW used it. Why wouldn't you use the most up to date version of Wiggins? I guess Derrick Rose still has MVP potential? It's called regression. 2. His oh so amazing Wiggins isn't a bust 24ppg season is exactly the same as every other season, he just took more shots. 3. He just doesn't care about basketball all that much. He pretty much admitted it himself when he apologized to the fans for having a down year / told his GM that he'd " try harder " next season, meaning that he acknowledges the fact he wasn't trying. 4. Jimmy Butler mental fuckery? He's had an entire off-season and 42 games to get used to playing without Jimmy. Damn.
Cynical Chimp Jesus you’re dumb. Using half a season to explain why someone won’t become better is stupid. Off seasons exist, look at Westbrook. And what ?? Drose regressed from injuries. Usually, healthy fucking players don’t regress in their fucking fifth year. Stupid comparison. and the oh so amazing “he just took more shots !” Argument lmfao. The nba doesn’t work like that, elite players are able to get up those shots consistently. Reggie Bullock was shooting 49 45 80 last season. Averaged 11 points. Why doesn’t he just take more shots so he can have those shooting splits with 20 ppg ?? Because he can’t. Why is there tons of players more efficient than Westbrook but can’t average nearly the same amount of points ? Cause they can’t. Think He doesn’t care about basketball ? Damn ain’t know u knew the nigga personally my fault bro !
OhMan Goddamn you can see it on the court he doesn't care about the game. He also let Jimmy dog him with 3rd stringers, no one with his talent if he had heart would let that be happen, same with KAT. They got paid and don't care and Minnesota will wallow in mediocrity as long as they stick to their guns
You've got to have Jordan and Kobe-level competitiveness to continue improving your game when you're making $30 million per year. Very, very few players are going to have that drive - even in the hyper-competitive world of professional basketball (hell - sports in general). Wiggins never had that level of competitiveness in the first place.
I'm reminded about stuff people are now saying about Zion. "He'll get better. He'll develop an outside game". Well, there's no guarantee of that. Wiggins isn't a BUST. He's a disappointment. Look at his stats and they are exactly the same, year to year, with the exception of him taking more shoots a couple season ago (resulting in more PPG). His stats, his shooting % are almost a flatline. Maybe he just needs to be Harden and take a ton of shots each game. He is averaging 19.4PPG for his career, which isn't a bust. A disappointment? Sure. He could average 25 a game, if he worked on it.
I get that the expectations for Wiggins are high and he hasn't met them, but why is he the only one that gets this treatment. If you're going off the potential ability that players have or "God given ability" that we all hear so much, there are heaps of players that don't play to their ability. Players like MKG, Jabari Parker, Mario Hezonja (who kinda does get the same treatment), and so on all don't play to the ability of *possibly* being a great defender, consistent shooter, playmaker. They all had the opportunity and chance to make an impact on their teams, but they didn't. And moving on from that we all know that insiders and draft analyses are wrong more than they're right. Lonzo was supposed to change the league (or be Steph curry with a 40 inch vert), Noah Vonleh was a 'better Chris Bosh’, Jabari Parker was 'the best of Carmelo and Paul Pierce', even things like Giannis was supposed to be Nicholas Batum, or the second round picks that turn out but were hardly scouted. We know the media likes to over hype and over rate young players or are just straight out wrong about them. Zion is supposed to be the next LeBron but is that actually something that we can expect of him? Is it really Wiggins's fault that he was so overrated coming into the draft, or were the media and the analysts just wrong? I agree with your points that Wiggins should be better given everything he should be capable of, but there are a slew of other players who could get the exact same treatment.
Lonzo was compared more to jason kidd and steve nash so it terms of that hes doing well not to mention hes improving and in season 2, jabari parker is being ruined by injuries and most people dont consider players who go through injuries as bust thats why people dont call bradon roy, drose,or yao ming busts
T-Wolves, this season, are 22-21 when Wiggins plays, a plus .500 record. T-Wolves are 6-4 in last 10 games. Wiggins has averaged 20.6 pts, 6.7 REBs, and shot 37% on 3's in last 10 games.
*WIGGINS lacks the Talent.* don't get confused between being physically GIFTED, capable of doing many things physically speaking and being talented basketball wise, THOSE things are related but definitely are not the same. Can wiggins rebound? No! He has the athleticism and height but doesn't have the talent (will, hart, aggressiveness) whatever you wanna call it, he's a very low IQ player, his shot selection is awful!!! ¿can he defend? No! He has the athleticism but doesn't have the talent (will, heart, aggressiveness), ¿can he pass effectively? No! ¿Can he score with efficiency? So far he hasn't been able to do so, (forget about the averages) ¿Does he have the handles?? No! In fact, he's kind of limited on that skill, he gets stopped most of the times when trying to go to the paint that's why is so difficult for him to attack the basket effectively (he's only effective in transition) and most of the times he ends up taking a long fade away jumper, wich must be the lowest percentage shot in the history of the NBA, only a few had been able to dominate that shot. So being physically gifted doesn't mean you're talented, a talented person is one capable of doing something (activity, work, sport, profession, etc..) above the average and with consistency; so far wiggins hasn't shown any sings of having a real talent or being consistent, it's all the opposite! he's been a very inconsistent player through his career. Some players doesn't have the physical advantage but are *talented* ( Barkley, Rodman, Iverson, Draymond etc..) in my opinion and after tons of and Analysis about Wiggins I truly belive he's just a VERY Athletic average to good player that mostly is a fourth option in championship team.
Wiggins has been so disappointing, hope the guy figures it out and becomes better in the future, but damn you really can't make an excuse for how much he's underperformed since being paid.

He needs time to be more consistent which is hard to do when he's already had 4 different coaches in 4.5 years. Young players are typically not consistent unless you're Michael Jordan, which everyone expects him to be... He does attain Michael's level at times... He's a great kid and will only get better. 1. They hired Tom Thiboeau to be the head coach of a young team , also making him president of basketball operations. A coach who's infamous for not even liking rookies. 2. They trade their young core (Lauri, Lavine and Kris Dunn) for an all star who turned out to be a locker room cancer everywhere he goes, who also hurt the development of their best player(KAT) and arguably Wiggins. TWO major mistakes that cost them effectively. We tend to always blame the player for everything, but ignore the fact that the front office is responsible for many things such as .... Gee idk PLAYER DEVELOPMENT. The Timberwolves have no sense of direction as far as where they want to take this team and set themselves back possibly for almost another decade. They're just not invested into their young talent and their organization is just a terrible mess. Though to a certain extent Wiggins by all means should be held accountable for his own lack of development, The Timberwolves should definitely be called out for stunting the growth of a potential NBA great. Minnesota just isnt the team where you wanna grow as a player. They don't care. Period.

It's so good to look back at this video.
He's starting to be one of the "better two way players of the league," and he's only 23.
He has no heart or passion. So he's gonna be content with that. It's why Jimmy Butler got mad at him and KAT.

🦆
And he’s running mate KAT plays for big numbers it’s a shit show
Send it so Wiggins has until next season to prove he’s not a bust? Got it. That will be five years exactly

@@NoName-pp5kralso Jason Richardson and Jerry Stackhouse
You're Wrong!
@1994
The key word you used is "athlete".

Exactly Zachary Levine so underrated
Did anybody else see the Andrew “Wiggings”?
If he stops smiling then he might start putting up numbers 😂
Just look at what he's doing to the Warriors.

The comparison slides are a bit confusing since the player pics and names don’t match up. Please fix for future vids. Good analysis overall.

Well if you get paid like a superstar than you'll be compared to a superstar.

What you saying now? Huh
He is not a bust but he isn’t where he should be
I don't like that definition of a bust because I find it unfair. I think busts should be based on expectation of the pick you were chosen at, not just how people viewed you. Obviously, I don't think Wiggins is a bust and definitely think a player who has averaged 24 PPG in his third season still has the potential to become an all star.
OhMan Goddamn he was chosen at number overall draft so by your terms he is a bust
Damn.

Think
He doesn’t care about basketball ? Damn ain’t know u knew the nigga personally my fault bro !
OhMan Goddamn you can see it on the court he doesn't care about the game. He also let Jimmy dog him with 3rd stringers, no one with his talent if he had heart would let that be happen, same with KAT. Great job. This community seems to be pretty confused about Wiggs value and how he truly fits in the current three-point centric nba

You've got to have Jordan and Kobe-level competitiveness to continue improving your game when you're making $30 million per year. Very, very few players are going to have that drive - even in the hyper-competitive world of professional basketball (hell - sports in general). Wiggins never had that level of competitiveness in the first place.
Because TYT sports is a good source of information

Thank you. Been saying this and people called me a hater!
Navmann the man is getting 150 million dollars he is a first pick and people still say give him time
Lonzo is only in his second year but is still constantly improving and Jabari is always injured so try again

All those guys you listed maybe except Draymond were very athletic in their young/prime years. But nonetheless you're right about wiggins
2022 he is a All star starter for the western conference, mhmmmmm
Now wiggins is in the finals
Great vid. Lil note, can you source your stats/graphics w the website theyre from
Wiggins has been so disappointing, hope the guy figures it out and becomes better in the future, but damn you really can't make an excuse for how much he's underperformed since being paid.
Under performed and he's 7th on the all-time NBA scoring list for his age bracket... Right! You obviously know very little about the game of basketball!
@@robfrancis8690 Wow he's averaging 17 ppg while taking 14 shots a game you're right that's not disappointing at all from the first overall pick in his fifth season while making 25 million a year and not really contributing to the team defensively, he's good for a couple boards that's about it, oh and let's not forget to mention he's been regressing since his third season. Tell me what there is that I can't say is disappointing.
@@robfrancis8690 who cares about being 7th in nba scoring for his age bracket that's just something espn will say just to make the player sound good who cares hes been disappointing
@@Y2KJake He just had another 35 point game tonight with a .565 FG%, yeah, you're right he really sucks... NOT!
But how about the 31 he had in Boston recently and the 40 in OKC... Give the guy a break he's only 23 and will be the next big thing in a couple years if the team can stick together. He's phenomenal. He needs time to be more consistent which is hard to do when he's already had 4 different coaches in 4.5 years. Young players are typically not consistent unless you're Michael Jordan, which everyone expects him to be... He does attain Michael's level at times... He's a great kid and will only get better. You call him "disappointing" and I know that players of Andrews ilk interpret that to mean that he sucks... He is not a disappointment and hence doesn't suck.
Period.
I hate Jimmy Butler. He be like imma just go around and ruin young cores.
Wet Waters nigga gtfo. butler elevated that team to the playoffs. wiggins been a bitch from day one. and the excuse always been to get rid of butler. now butler, the nigga with the biggest motor on that team is gone, and wiggins is still a bitch.
You god damn stupid fucking wolves fans i swear most delusional fan base in the league
A bit off topic, but the graphic with all the 1s and 0s, where’s that from? I swear it looks familiar
