I saw the original recording of this it was at the Cambridge Folk festival. The tune is so moving and one of my favorites. It still nearly brings me to tears.
Wonderful music, and a reminder of why indie record stores are so important. I saw her latest cd on the wall at Soundscapes, vaguely recalled seeing a good review of it and decided to buy it on impulse. So glad I did.
Finally a video of Devon and her Band (that's a good quality video!) Thanks so much for posting this! The jam at the end is so nice. And I love the tempo they played at I want an mp3 of this so badly =)
This is from her first album Upstate Songs - a wonderful album. I have only seen her live once but am hoping to see her again soon - she signed my copy of Colours with all different coloured pencils - so sweet.
love it! i saw her a million years ago---really 10 ish--at folk alliance--and heard this song--got her record--always wondered wassup and here she be-----i like the phrasing and sudden weird words that come up "my patient hip." --------- escalating like this kind of thing does .... uh huh

Probably the most under rated songwriter I know

Going to see her next week at the Louisiana, Bristol.
Great! Live and all! Sounds a bit " Donovan-ish " in the arrangement; amazing!

Devon is the singer who all girls with guitars pretend that's who they are.
