    Great! I really love when I hear something positive about my country (Brazil) or my native language ( portuguese) . I've been learning english since 2016 ( I learned the basic at school, but for me , wasn't enough) So, I decided learn english by my own. I really aprecciate your australian accent Christian. I know probably I make a lot of grammar mistakes yet, but I'll never give up.

    Hi Christian,I´m Daniel from Argentina, and I wanted to tell you that I watch your videos very often because I realize the effort you are doing by helping people to learn english as a second language. I´m 70 now and I studied english since I was a child, but I am not fluent speaking though I have enough vocabulary which would allow me to speak fluently, due to my lack of confidence. What I am doing from a couple of years ago is puting my focus in listening to anything I can get in the web, teachers like you, for instance, like Alisha from 101something.com, AJ Hoges, Bob the Canadian, Emma from mmm.english your compatriot, and many others. I´m doing that because I feel the fact of listening to people with different accents helps me to understand more and more each day. Actually I began listening to Americ

  • @BK-lo6ml

    It's nice to hear what you both are thinking, my grammar isn't perfect, I still struggle with it and the pronunciation (my son doesn't like my accent), but to be honest I don't care so much about it. Para mi más importante is la conversación. I talk a lot, people call me chatterbox =katarynka. I'm a student of modern languages: Spanish and Russian (1yr). My son doesn't want to practice Spanish with me even though he has this subject in school (lazy ass). It hurts me seeing him waisting his natural talent. Maybe one day he will understand my point of view. At the moment, my children think that I'm crazy because I speak 3 languages and I'm beginner in 4th (Russian) + I'm planning to learn 2 more, Turkish and Italian.

    • @BK-lo6ml
      @BK-lo6ml 5 лет назад +1

      I forgot to add that I learnt Spanish in 2yrs. First 6months only vocabulary with a range of mobile apps, then 4 courses of holiday Spanish, as you may know, not so much about learning grammar or practicing speaking. Then I decided to attend Uni, so as you may assume, how the heck I'm on post A-level in Spanish (without formal GSCE and Post A-level) ?- I wonder it either. My Spanish Team Leader decided about it after our conversation, where I insisted on her speaking to me all the time in Spanish and of course I was replying in the same language.

      'Never' is a negative. So you can say "I have never ..." You cannot say "I have ever ..." But you can use 'ever' to emphasize a negative that already exists in the sentence - for example, "I haven't ever ..." You can also use 'ever' in the question form to indicate the whole of your life, e.g. "Have you ever ...?" The only time you'd ask "Have you never ...?" is if you wanted to show you were surprised about something - such as "Have you really *never* eaten meat before?"

    Yes, some learners are good at writing English, but they are poor in speaking. Writing and speaking are two different skills. We have to use a fast skill in speaking English whereas writing is a slow skill, so speaking is much more difficult than writing. We need to practice speaking English everyday. Try to think in English and speak ourselves in English everyday eventhough we don't have any practice partners.

    Profesor espero tenga un excelente día. Una solicitud. Explique usted como reconocer el tiempo y el modo del verbo en ingles que debemos utilizar para cuando usamos los verbos en el modo subjuntivo en espeÑol. Por ejemplo: Exijo que se _vaya_ de aqui. En esta oración el verbo principal es presente simple, pero el verbo _vaya_ es presente subjuntivo. En inglés como reemplazar este verbo?. Como saberlo? Otro ejemplo: Que yo te _amase/amara_ no te daba el derecho a lastimarme. Aqui amase/amara es subjuntivo igual, pero preteriro. Como sabe que forma en inglés usar? Y el último ejemplo: Es probable que salgamos tarde. Si se da cuenta en espaniol este modo va siempre despues de _que_ en ingles he visto que se puede traducir usando presente simple o pasado o progresivo inclusive usan futuro dependiendo de lo que se diga pero como saber (los estudiantes de ingles) que forma de verbo en ingles usar? Gracias por su tiempo.

    A lot of people expect some kind of shortcut. They are promised an awful lot by language schools. Academic rigour is usually supplanted by fun and games. Not many teachers talk about the importance of reading, nor encourage it. A lot of NNES who are great with grammar but not so great with idioms and phrasal verbs. A lot of NES who are the opposite!

    Dear speakers on this subject are ignoring something fundamental and it is that you are inserted in the Iron Age of the 5th Race called Aria, therefore there were 4 previous ones such as the Protoplasmic, the Hyperboria, both races formed by hermaphrodites since the sex division it was produced in the third race called Lemuric, then the Atlantean appeared and then ours ... But it must be noted that vocalized language is not a superior conquest, since telepathic language is superior.

    Yes, fear is right! In USA in the college ESL classes the comunication is not tought. Only grammar, rules, and pure pronation. To learn those sounds in a short time for adults super hard.

    So sorry to hear that you have corona. I could not find the video in which you said so. That's why I am commenting on this one. I have two hopes for you. 1- to get well soon. 2- Maybe is a strange one but it's more important than the first - I hope you start searching for the right religion. Maybe Corona is a warning. I intended to tell you that before I watch this video and accidently heard the professor you were talking talking says he is an atheist and you had no problem with that. I think like many people who see that religions have no value at all. I do not know why I am telling you that or why your guest raised the topic of his belief as an atheist here while I was going to tell you that. But I hope you two start searching the religion God would accept from us. Thanks for your great efforts to learn us English.
