Their company's CEO wrote this song for Quincy Jones originally and the name of the song was Mamamoo. Ending up using it for this rookie group and someone else at the company suggested using Mamamoo as the group's name.
The song reminds me of the movie hairspray. Sadly there are some people sleeping on MAMAMOO or just plain hating on them because they ain't the typical GGs. I wish and pray that MAMAMOO gets more recognition not only in SK but internationally
If any of you noticed, the director, the guitarist, and everyone else in the video are either singers or actors. The one who asked them to sing "live" is Baek Ji Young, she is famous for singing songs for dramas and movies.
The woman playing the prank is Baek Ji Young, she's a very well respected senior singer. Would be great of you could check out some of her work, most of it is balled songs though. Her voice is amazing and so emotional. Her live stages are awesome.

Who else gets pranked so hard in their debut MV that it makes them cry? I'm pretty sure Alex has mixed up Moonbyul & Solar before. Yes, Moonbyul can sing but she's primarily the rapper. Solar is the powerhouse high note belter and Allen is correct that she does the ad libs at the end. Between the retro style, the outrageous vocals, the celebrity cameos and the prank they did a pretty good job of announcing that Mamamoo was not going to be a typical kpop girl group.

Since you a few days ago reacted to BTS "Fire" you should really watch SOLAR (leader of Mamamoo) Do a cover of it on her solo stage..its one of the hottest performaces i have seen and its not because of "fire" its because of solar herself..haha, she does it so amazing, cant wait for more MAMAMOO! :D

In fact, in the Peppermint Chocolate song they do a collaboration with Wheesung and in the choreography they include two members of the group VIXX.
