Another great video, ladies! I so enjoy all you do. I love my flower gardens this time of year too! Enjoy your trip to Walnut. I look forward to hearing all about it! Happy Birthday, Jeannie!
I always enjoy seeing all of your projects. Your pillows turned out so beautiful. I hope you both have a wonderful trip and shop hop. Happy Birthday Jeannie. Threads on the Loose is such a fun way to travel and shop. Enjoy!
Generally I pick my own choice for fabric unless the called for calls to me. I will change a thread if needed but usually the colors in the chart is what draws me to the chart in the first place.
I rarely stitch on the called for fabric. I have so much in my stash and I'm trying to pull from there. I will change the threads either the type or the colors to suit my taste. I hope you have a great trip and enjoy your birthday month!
Hi Jeannie & LeAnn. I learn something new every time I watch you. Enjoy watching you. I visited Prairie Rose Needlearts today in Ames. Delightful shop, have fun visiting it. So nice to have a shop in Ames.
Ladies y’all make my day. LOVE the peonies 💕💕💕💕. So new thing stress stitching and stress finishing 👍😂. Happy stitching, Happy Birthday Jeanie and have a great June. Can’t wait for our next visit🪡🪡
Great to see you again. Leeann I love that wall hanging I’ve never seen a pattern like that. I love your turtle tidbits! I usually stop stitching to make sure I don’t miss anything. I find it fascinating I’ve learned so much. Happy Birthday Julie have a great shopping trip. I am an Aida stitcher so I have to try and find something in the colour range of the pattern . I’m from Canada so we don’t have such a variety of choice . I do buy from Evertotes and 123 stitch. I use a lot of DMC but love to get the overdyes for certain projects.
Jeannie, Please remember to show the knot that you use with your 100.3. I love those silks, but you are right, they do tend to slip out of the needle. I just bought the LaDDa patriotic pattern. I finished my 'Counting is Hard' into a flat fold. You'll see it all in my next video. Your trips sound like so much fun. I laughed when you said you were threads on the loose. Thanks for turtle tidbits. Happy stitching. Best, K
I love turtle tidbits but don't really have too many questions, I just like learning about them. What is the life span of our more common turtles, such as the snapper or the painted? I know those desert tortoise ones live a very long time, but what about the ones we see? I tend to call them all "turtles" but are some of those we see tortoises? Love your videos. Happy Birthday Jeannie!
We had frost advisory on Friday and today it’s 26C but with humidity it’s 32C😂😂😂 but garden is doing well. Love you two ladies, always interesting talk.
Love watching all you do. Everything I make ends up a hodgepodge, partly because I buy online and it's hard to know what it will be. Also, because I always wander off changing floss colors. One piece I didn't care for the border, so I designed a totally different one. It was off one stitch on two opposite sides so that meant redesigning the center motifs again. Things really can get off in the weeds for me.
Ok so I usually follow the chart as I have not got adventurous with floss. I usually use dmc and I love 18ct aida so I am discovering different colors. I am presently working on very massive full coverage pieces but as of recently been buying some samplers and smaller patterns. I am not a sewer, knitter or quilter but I have been starting to watch flosstube and looking to try to make a pillow. Since there is alot of info out there I am looking forward to trying to finish my projects in different ways. I am also looking at doing alot of ornaments to try to do a seasonal tree. Thank you for inspiring others to try things and love love turtle tidbits and seeing all your wonderful art collections and finishes.
Happy Birthday Jeannie! Hope the month brings much joy and good surprises! I do change colors for a chart depending on fabric being used or to match my decor. Loved the turtle tidbit. Happy stitching!
Another fun video! At this time in my cross stitching, I am a chart follower. I stitched back in the 70s and 80s, stopped stitching until just a few years ago. I’m quite intimidated by the flosses and fabric choices available now and don’t feel confident enough to make changes. I love all of your stitching projects. I look forward to your next video with show and tell from your Iowa adventure. Take care!
Thanks for sharing everything ❤ I love hearing about your adventures, too! I typically change a few threads depending on what fabric I choose. Most of the time I can’t find the called for fabric. I also will switch to a DmC where the variegation won’t even show up. Have a great birthday month Jeannie 🎉
Thanks again for another fun video. Your finishes and wips were all so pretty. I had no idea that turtles shed like that. Amazing. Would love to see their color when it’s all finished! Btw, where is the tank for them? I think last time you said that it gets moved in summer? But you didn’t say today. I’m an Aida stitcher also. Mostly 16 ct but some 18 ct also. I usually use the called for threads unless there are a lot of over dyed, then I will mix that and DMC or do the DMC conversion. I agree with Jeanie about using the overdyes on larger motifs like a house. Love how it has variegation then. I do like the solid DMC’s for rich colors on things. Have a safe and fun trip and see you July 1! Happy Birthday also, Jeanie🎈
Thank you Ladies…love the Turtle Tidbits, anything you talk about is great, it’s so interesting. You mentioned your corn height. My corn field is up to my chin. Of course I live in South Carolina…longer growing time. I hardly ever use “called for fabric”. Often I will omit a border if there are several. I also am a Aida stitcher. Good Travels for your upcoming adventures.
@@jeanniebergdahl1901. No I do not because….we grow field corn for our livestock, therefore we won’t harvest until Oct. Nov. time frame. We need it good and dry. In our garden we grow Silver Queen. White corn. I probably get that up mid July and can it up. Then it’s time to plant our cool crops. After we harvest our field corn ,we put in a cover crop….Tillage Radish. Happy 4th to you and LeeAnn.❤
I always enjoy the photos in your intro. Our peonies usually bloom Memorial Day, but this year they were done by then. My daylilies have been blooming for two weeks. It has been a weird spring. Where do you usually stay when you go to Walnut? I can’t find a reasonably priced option in Council Bluffs, so no show for me this year. I don’t know if it is because it’s vacation time or the antique show. I thought I would plan ahead for next year.
Always fun to watch your video ladies. I liked the side by side on each of your finishes of ‘In Full Glory’. Sawdust in Old Glory really could be a weapon!! Happy stitching ladies
Oh goodness! My favorite Loose threads!!! 🥳 I sometimes change thread colors if they don’t show up on the fabric I use. I almost always change my fabric mainly because I don’t have what’s called for. Happy Birthday month Jeannie, my birthday month is July🤩 Thank you for another wonderful video! ♥️
Love watching y’all! Jeannie do u use one or two threads on your 18 count? I stitch on Aida so no I don’t follow what is posted that they use. As far as over dyed, if it’s a large enough area I will use over dyes but if not I don’t. I use dmc. Love the turtle tips too!
I use 2 threads over 1 on 18 count Aida. I agree with you about using over dyed thread. Why waste them on smaller areas if you won’t be able to see the variegation. Thanks for watching.
I love how little your in full glory came out LeAnn. I'm not able to stitch that count but I love to see pieces that small. Jeannie your piece is equally beautiful. Love to hear where you ladies are going all the time. Someday I hope to do that as well. God luck, have fun, God bless you both
My daughter had a pet Children's Python , Ramases, who used to rub his nose and head on his basking rock when he was about to shed ( snakes shed from nose to tail, in one piece if the humidity levels are correct, otherwise you're chasing bits like dandruff 😅) Do you need a licence to have a turtle or tortoise in America? In Australia we have to have a specific licence for snakes or turtle/tortoise BEFORE we can purchase the animal. Just wondering if the authorities do the same diligence over there? Love the tidbits. Great stitching ladies. Living in the opposite hemisphere to you guys I rarely stitch either on the called for fabric or with the called for thread. We have about 6 crossstitch stores( or needlework shops) in the entire country so don't have the access to the supplies. Postage kills orders from overseas. Unless I'm ordering a large amount the postage costs more than the order and takes forever from the USA. DON'T GET LOST........WE WANT YOU BACK ❤
Thanks for watching, Lisa! It's great your daughter had a snake! We don't have to have a license to own a turtle or tortoise in general. We do have to get a permit if we want a turtle that is native to Minnesota that is on the protected or endangered list. My turtles are very common, so no, I don't need a license. Good thing to talk about. I will add it to my questions and answers for next time! Thanks!
I have gotten several of 1803 baskets. I got a tier baskets. It really good. Are you going to walnut Iowa? I have been there many times. I love it there.😊 my birthday is June 5. I am starting Primrose Cottage sampler.
I have a turtle question. I cannot remember if you have said. What do you feed them and do the babies eat the same things? Nice stitches. I'm getting my patriotic mojo.
I have a question - why do you know so much about turtles…is it just a hobby or was it a career? Every spring (April) I see ‘Mabel’ I made up that name walk across my front yard to the man made lagoons…she has a biggish pointy tail. I have seen where she laid eggs on the gravel road at our community garden last year but not this year…do they lay in different locations? Thanks
Hi Dee! They can lay in different areas if they got interrupted or scared where they were trying to lay their eggs. If they don't get bothered at all, they usually come back to around the same area.
Ann’s baskets are wonderful! I just bought one and I love it! Fun and informative video as usual! ❤️🎉
Another great video, ladies! I so enjoy all you do. I love my flower gardens this time of year too! Enjoy your trip to Walnut. I look forward to hearing all about it! Happy Birthday, Jeannie!

Thank you! Glad you enjoy our video!
I rarely stitch on the called for fabric. I have so much in my stash and I'm trying to pull from there. I will change the threads either the type or the colors to suit my taste. I hope you have a great trip and enjoy your birthday month!
Thank you Karen. I like to use my stash first.
June will be Jumping June 😊. Love your floss tubes. You’re a good mix 😊
Happy birthday , Jeannie! You two have a fun trip, enjoy! Excited to see all your haul. Love all your finishes. Happy stitching!
Thank you. We will report back on our next floss tube!!
Have fun on the shop hop. You will love the Shanty Stitchers shop. Such a cute shop. Love the turtle stories.
Thank you so much!
Happy birthday month Jeannie🥳
Thank you Dee.
Thank you both for an interesting video. Happy Birthday Jeannie!🎉. Enjoy your Month. Safe travels, ladies enjoy your antique shopping.
Thank you Linda.

Looking forward to shopping there.
The next row is not the lowercase with the poinsettia on the Quaker Welcome! It’s the rest of the cap letters. Just trying to keep you from disaster!
Thank you! You are very correct!!!!! I'm sure you did save me from ripping out something!😊
Thank you ladies, you put a smile on my face watching your video.
Thank you for watching.

Have fun in Walnut, Iowa! My Aunt Ruth and Uncle Vernon lived there for their entire marriage!
Thank you, Pam! We will try very hard to have fun! Thanks for watching!
We have a “slow turtles crossing” sign down our street. The one I saw was trying to lay her eggs in a small pile of dirt at the side of the road.
That's great, Carrie! I wish there were more signs where there are alot of turtles in the area!
One more thing cannot wait to hear all about your trip. Remember to stay loose.
Thanks for watching, Cheryl!
