    I think with Stony once her brother died she gave up. She put all her hopes in her brother. Once he died she had nothing else so she didn't care. After meeting Keith and seeing the other side of life she saw something new in her life.

To then thinking you was an adult cause yo mama let you stay up late to see the movie and then you see CLEO'S DEATH SCENE! Ugh, in my big age that movie makes me crying my eyes out!! This never needs a remake because this is top tier black classic movie.

    In my mind, there is already a part 2. Have you ever seen Tales from the Crypt Demon Knight? At the end of Set it Off, Stony went to Mexico... In Demon Knight, the setting is in "New Mexico". Jada's character had short hair at the end if set it off. Her character had a similar hair cut in Demon Knight. She admitted to getting into trouble in the past for "robbery" and the black cat in the house was named Cleo. Lol

    • @JaDedby88

    • @doriannsmith6665
      @doriannsmith6665 8 месяцев назад +17

      Right! everytime it gets to that part i just skip through it cause damn y’all didn’t have to light her up like that they did not need that many bullets to take her down that was over the top these cops in this movie was too trigger happy and it’s scary cause that’s how some of them are in real life

    • @alwaysalady2217
      @alwaysalady2217 7 месяцев назад +3

      I can’t watch that scene at all. As soon as she lets Stoney and Frankie out in the tunnel I have to skip forward. The music plus the scene especially when she knows it’s a wrap then she lights the cigarette…it’s just a lot to absorb. I literally remember being on the theater ( the things 90’s babies were able to do and see lol) with my mom and I was crying so hard. I was devastated all the way home until we got in the house and my cousin was in the family room watching Living Single and I saw Queen Latifah on the tv and I instantly felt like ok she is still alive lo. I will never forget that.

  • @Nada07able
    @Nada07able 8 месяцев назад +5

    Detective Waller was very annoying and wanted to be one of the good ones. I didn't want Stoney to tear up the check either, especially after what she went through to get it. Maybe she decided to rob a bank, because she didn't have any hope after her brother died or didn't care anymore after losing so much. T.T.'s death was so sad and her son losing his mother. Cleo's makes me cry, because of Up Against the Wind playing during the scene and the way she kind of tries fighting dying and then lets go.

    not to mention when they put the money in the air conditioner vent they didn't even put it all the way inside there. they just put it so people can notice that it was in there. I don't think that Luther had a camera on them because if that was the case I'm sure the director would have made it a point to include the revelation in the scene right after they realized and start running off instead of them being greeted by a new boss they would have actually walked in on security monitor with the Vent door open. if he had prior knowledge of this. or it was a setup by the gunman AKA Dr Dre . because they knew and probably put him up to it. which is why he even news about the money. he was probably in debt to them they told him how he could repay them. and that's why he was broke.

    the reason why the other girls weren't able to just up and leave the first or the second time and let Titi handle getting her son back on her own is because we don't know what happened to TT she might have needed the protection because if you notice she is a little off lol. T T would have definitely needed the support. oh and don't get me started on the fact that TT squeeze the trigger! my girl you could have hit him upside the head with a gun instead of shooting him. she squeezed the trigger

  • @curtislamarh
    @curtislamarh 6 месяцев назад +1

    also we know that it was plot-driven for the movie to play out the way it did to make the statement it was making. the reality is Frankie would have been able to file a lawsuit against the bank and possibly the police as well. I'm not all the way Savvy with the law however Given that Frankie was the one with experience with the corporate world she'd be knowledgeable enough to make her next decision being getting a lawyer because she knows What just happened isn't right nor is this whole situation her fault. the bank has to uphold their end of protecting their employees and should have been stand with the proper safety and security . she definitely had a lawsuit that would have probably gotten paid a lot more and see what that possibly been able to save her job and then there'll be no movie lol

    also what I'm realizing while watching your video..is that they didn't really set out to do multiple bank robberies or collect more money I believe in the beginning it was all about revenge and just trying to get ahead a little bit. and then everything started trickling down from there. like the adrenaline from being able to get away with it and then go broke again. we got to understand that neither one of them at any time in your life probably had that amount of money all at once in their hands. once they had a taste of it became addictive. from the beginning I believe it was all driven by Revenge 😊 that became something else. it didn't help that neither one of them made an exit Strategy and I believe it's because like Stoney who's never been outside of her Hood, none of the other girls actually left the hood either. initially they weren't planning to leave until all the s*** started hitting the fan that they had to run from. I think they always plan on staying which is how I figure they fell into the despair in the end.
