I love how you show the steps clearly which are easy to understand straight to the point without long lecture which could be lost in translation. Especially, you show them without facing us so we won't be confused by trying to figure out your right being our left, your left being our right.
Big thanks to both of you ❤❤
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it
Props for that emphasis on "follower" Liwen!
It's important to keep in mind and remind that danse roles are gender(/sex) free! and that everyone can danse with everyone and change role if they feel like it!
I really appreciated that!
@AliasWalen right on! Anyone can dance with anyone. 🙌🏼 It's also fun to change roles and experience having the "shoe on the other foot". It makes us appreciate what our partner needs to do (and not do)! 😉
Dance roles are traditionally not gender free. This is a very recent development in line with the war on masculinity and the decline of society into madness and degeneration.
@@Martin_Hermann Absolutely right.
Really good stuff. I don't have a partner, but I've learnt so much from both of you because you are so supportive and fun. Better than all the other beginner videos out there. If I have more thumbs, I'd certainly put them up.
Huong Kim that's great to hear. Thanks and keep dancing! We can learn and improve a lot on our own. Keep it up. 👍🏼🙌🏼
thumbs up, funny! thanks!
Love their personality and shoutout to whoever edited this!
@Devin Huapaya that would be Tytus! Thanks for the shoutout. ✌🏼😉
hey, thanks a lot!
Thank you for correcting "woman" to "follow" cuz i am a male and some of the best dancing i have done i was the follow
👍🏼 you bet! we know many men who are great followers and vice versa! Sounds like we found another one! 😉 What dances do u do?
Ballroom (Favourite being American Tango), Swing, and Some Latin!
Nice... What got you into ballroom dancing?
Lol i do not give a fig to whether ppl say woman or follower when i follow. It is just a label .
love ❤️ this quirky clear fun lesson on Rhumba 😀
Ok that one second at 0:08 got me thinking this was a trailer for a horror movie
hah. interesting point!
Oh my goodness you guys are bye far the best dance teachers in RUclips!
Sophia thank you!! Welcome to our channel. ☀️😊
wow, thanks!
I know that in the Rumba Basic Movement, for the man, on the first 4-1, settle the L hip on about the "1", and on the second 4-1, settle the R hip at about the second "1", to get the basic Cuban hip motion. And I also know another important technique - especially in International Rumba - weight is taken on a straight leg (not like American rumba, where weight is taken on a bent one), in most of the basic steps. This is especially important when you go up a level in this style of rumba and do the forward and back Rumba Walks.
Amazing!!! Please keep going with other Latin Routines for beginners! It's incredibly beautiful... 💕 Thanks Dance Insanity 😍😍😍😍
Ele you're so welcome. Enjoy!!! Let's get everyone dancing! 💃🏻🕺🏻❤️👍🏼

cucaracha is probably my fav
Tytus Freestyle good choice!
This is a great routine. I have tried out 3 times, 70% of the routine works well. I need more time to get the lady on the opening out step and aida :D I would say that my favourite step is the basic ^_____^

Hi Tytus and Liwen,
Thank you very much for this wonderfully instructive video. It makes for a concise and useful "syllabus" for the rumba.
I appreciate your generosity in sharing it.
Can you do the same for the cha cha and the samba?
I look forward to those postings.
Thanks again, and keep it up.
Hello Hai Duong! You are so welcome. Definately planning on doing a video like this for Samba and ChaCha, so stay tuned! 👍🏼
How long have you been dancing? What are you most interested in learning/ improving and any particular areas you find challenging?
you are very welcome Hai! much happy Rumba to you! Tytus
Hi Dance Insanity team:
Thank you for your responses.
To answer your questions, Liwen, I have been taking a weekly group class in International Latin for four years now.
Although I concentrate only on the rumba and the cha cha (slighting the samba and the paso, and completely ditching the jive),
I still find every movement challenging. That is, if I am to perform it well, and especially if I am to perform it well EVERY TIME.
That said, I am most intrigued by the VERY fast swivels that professionals execute on the counts of four-and-one in the cha cha.
Intellectually, I understand that I must stretch and twist my core, rather than swing my hips, much less my legs. Well, I am still practicing.
On second thought, this is perhaps something that a sixty-two years-old man like me shouldn't attempt.
All the same, I find your enthusiasm for dancing contagious, and your effervescence inspiring.
Godspeed.
Dai, It's wonderful that you continue to nurture your love for the Latin dances. Besides, I think it's important to find things that we don't think you can do (yet), but attempt them anyway. That's what inspires us to grow and get better at what we love. What's that popular saying? If you reach for the moon.... ;)
For the fast swivels, (like twist chasses, compact chasses etc - is that what you mean?), using oppositional knee action between both legs (alternating the straightening and bending of the knees) is also key. That may be a good idea for a video tutorial?
You are only 62 years YOUNG. plenty more years of great dancing ahead! :)
Hai Duong! We just put out a "Basic Cha Cha Top 10 steps & routine" video tutorial!! Right here ruclips.net/video/O5_s1OUizfQ/видео.html

Onyebuchi Chidinma thank you!!! Welcome to our channel. 😊 what other steps/ dances would you like to learn??
glad to hear that! thank you!
Thanks .It is good for beginner!
王冠旻 you are very welcome! Any questions let us know. 😊How long have you been dancing?
The Underarm Turn is also included in an extended Rumba basic school figure called the Opening Out to Fan, which is not included in the Video. The Opening Out to Fan happens first, and then the follower ends the fan as the follower goes across to the leader, with an outside Underarm Turn. They call this the "Alemana Turn." Ironically, even without the use of the Opening out to Fan as a precede, this outside UAT is called an "Alemana Turn" also. (For example, you do a Basic Movement first-half, and end with an Alemana Turn out of that Basic in the Second Half without opening out to Fan.)
pure excellence and such fun simply the greatest dancers and teachers
Jacques Le Louarn thank you! happy to have you here dancing with us! 😊

Udaya Kumar you're so welcome!
You're very welcome Udaya! enjoy, Tytus
Hello Tytus & Liwen, I wanted to share an idea/thought that has been bugging me. (Please note, I have not done the time to qualify giving expert advice.) I see Zumba & U Jam getting traction among people and not Ballroom. The template in Zumba/U Jam is dance choreographed to a particular song. Why not Ballroom adopt that mode. Rumba /samba choreographed to songs -And we evolve by repeating the various basic steps incessantly to enjoy in muscle memory.
HI UK 101, awesome idea! and great observation too. appreciate you sharing your thoughts. LiWen and I will have to chat about that one. thanks! Tytus
Hello UK 101, that's a really interesting point you brought up! Thanks for the suggestion. Are you suggesting basic steps put into a mini routine choreographed to specific songs, repeated over and over again throughout the song? I think that's how they do it for Zumba?
Nice routine to practice to. Would've been nice if y'all could've worked in a fan, alemana, and hockey stick in there somewhere, though. Then I think that'd be all the "need-to-know" figures from the bronze syllabus in one easy practice routine!
What is the title of the music in this video?Badly needed
@Kyla Andaleon it's called "tell me what you need" are u doing a performance?
@@DanceInsanity yes we have a performance in physical education so I came here in your RUclips channel to learn .Thank you
@@DanceInsanitywho is the singer of the song tell me what you need ,I can't see it in RUclips
@Kayla Andaleon not sure who the artist is... You can dance to other rumba songs as well.
Ive been dancing for 8 months and in already in 1B and might be joining junior recruitment😃
Nice!!! Keep going
can you teach me the sliding window, thanks
quang truong hello again! I think you meant sliding doors? We did a video on sliding doors here. Check it out: ruclips.net/video/IrRvQ_iGK58/видео.html
any questions or other steps you'd like to learn?
Hi! I was learning the Rumba tonight with a group and we were learning "the princess" where you would do "three steps to the side", then the leader moves the left foot back with the left arm down, then the left arm goes back up and turn the follower to the left side and you also turn to the left, then I forgot the rest. Do you have a video for that? I hope you understand what I am talking about.
Rocketman Investing hello! Thanks for the question. Many times, studios/ teachers will make up their own steps with their own names. Since "The princess" isn't a syllabus/ common name.. we're not sure what it is. Wish we could help! Is it international/ American rumba?
What is the title of the song in the last part?
Please put the subtittles in spanish thankyou, you are fantastics
Hola Rita! We added Spanish subtitles, but it may not always be accurate, so if anything sounds weird, it's probably because the translation isn't great. :) Happy dancing and welcome to our Dance Insanity channel!
thanks!
I m subscriber your chanel, from Indonesia 😊🙏
👍👍😊😊
Teachers, is there any list for dance step by step
Hello @Jen Er, you can find the step list in the video description. Is that what you're asking about?
Hi guys.. miss your class 😘
Hey Alice!! Nice to see you here. 😘
Hi pcshs
Good job♥
Miranda Lucia thank u! ☀️
thank u!
Just starting to learn rumba!
Love how you explain the steps and how both of you teach. In other videos, only the guy speaks and the girl stands there smiling … annoying!
Good background music!
Better than the Corky Ballas series
Bill Frankeberger 🤭🤭🤭 thanks!! 🙌🏼
you better believe it Franky Baby! oh yeah!
Franky Baby.. haha. love that.
lol!
thank u Bill!
LiWen is getting prettier every day!
Aww thanks Don. 😉🤗 must be the effects of dancing!
yeah I noticed that too!

Excellent instructions, however, the entire foot should not be placed on floor in back rocks. I was taught only the ball of the feet.
Along with everything else awesome about these videos (the absolute beginner's steps that I have difficulties finding), I especially love that you use gender neutral terms Leader/Follower instead of Man/Woman, making room for same-sex dance partners (for practicing or personal preference)
@Naida Right on!! 🙌🏼 Are you learning all the Latin dances??
I'm glad you like that! I've had the fortune of training many same sex couple which is fantastic.
I already know how to do jive rumba chacha before this lol
Bonus lol!
Pleeeease do a "no partner, no problem" video. Such an old excuse people use for not coming to class.
@Ginger X cool idea!! No excuses!
great idea!

I’m thinking of taking up salsa , do ya fancy it, I’ll ask if ya can wear ya headphones 😤😤😤
damn P.E project
They are swinging too much for a beginner. But they are good
Twisting to say
So is this like chacha but, instead of the steps saying “chachacha” they say “rhum-Ba”? (I can chacha but I can’t rhumba!)
haha.. it is like cha cha cha. But you only have 1 step in rumba instead of 3 (in cha cha cha).
ㅠㅠ
😂😂😂
우리와 함께 즐겁게 해줘서 고마워. 당신 댄서세요?
No difference for followers between cucaracha and side step? You need to stress the difference.
1:43-1:55
Pitty that there is subtitles and I can't see very well the steps.....
Easy Solution- turn off the captions (CC) settings on your player 👍
Need to get rid of all the rubbish in the sound track as it is too noisy but when the noise level is turned down it is difficult to hear the speech.Much of this noise appears to coincide when the writing comes up on the screen
James Leigh thank you for your feedback. Do u mean the sound effects? Can you please give a timecode example? That'll help clarify what you mean. 🙏🏼
Yes! it is the sound effects that have been added but which I find are really intrusive and when my daughter watched one time it made her jump and she could not continue watching. I appreciate the effects have been added to emphasise the explanations but they can be very disturbing. Thank you.
James Leigh thanks for clarifying. Sorry it made your daughter jump - not the intention! What device are you watching on - TV/ desktop computer etc? Videos can sound quite different on different devices/speakers, so we appreciate your feedback!
You all need to teach dancing with the stars to rumba. Not sure what they call it but it ain't this.
Donna George haha ok! When should we start? We’re ready! 😉 are u watching the current season?
@@DanceInsanity yes . I was not seeing this . Also the foxtrot dance was huh? The music as well huh? I suppose I prefer traditional styles not the fusion hip hop in ballroom. Keep it classic salsa ,rumba ,tango ect .
Donna George yeah...The music... 😅 I see your point... the classic styles make it easier to read the dance. What are your fav dances?
@@DanceInsanity well was a ballet dancer then came weight gain lol but I love the tango and waltz .
He low key looks like Tom Hiddleston
wow, thanks!
Your hands seem to fighting with ghosts.
阿阮Aaron who won the fight?? The ghosts or us? 😉
looks like we are ahead of schedule with Halloween, lol!
Dance Insanity Of course you guys...ghosts aren't here yet.
阿阮Aaron YEAH! 🙌🏼 💪🏼👻
cool, that was close!
This aint no rumba, is it? I've been in Cuba in Matanzas 8 years ago where they do dance the original Rumba. I dunno what it is.
Fate troppe chiacchiere ...
J'aime l'écriture mais je ne voit pas vos pieds
U can turn off the captions in the player settings 🙂
Dude, it's NOT pronounced "Rumba." It's "Roomba."
you obviously don't know or seen the dance in it's origin. the dance is from africa and with a.cuban flair. the way it's dance here is watered down Arian American version from Fred Astaire days.
Dude, enough with the squirrelly hip crap. It’s beginner steps. Teach what works for beginners. You are making a mockery of your three step process described at the beginning. This thing stinks.
He's showing proper hip movement... as a beginner it's useful to know how the move should look when done correctly. Taking that out would be teaching improper form. You wouldn't want a personal trainer to teach you poor form, you wouldn't want a dance instructor to either.
What a pitty, the subtitles are right on your legs!
You can easily turn off the subtitles/ CC on your player controls
