Hey Ross - Great video as always. Quick FYI - at 4:45 you mentioned the NPK fertilizer had a potassium of 45... (the 45 is actually the “phosphorus”)
    The potassium is 15.
Since you specifically made reference to its benefits, I figured I’d mention it.
    Thanks Ross

I recommend adding some fish emulsion to your waterings when fertilizing. Fish emulsion has a high nitrogen ratio, but since you’re essentially dumping whole fish on your plant, you get every micronutrient inside a whole fish. A spoonful, in my opinion, does wonders for micros. I swear by the stuff.

I make my own fish emulsion down here in florida. My figs and plants love it. Fish contain all the essential micro/macro nutrients. The Native Indians knew what they were doing when planting corn and 1 fish with every seed!!!

I have a very different feeding model. I don’t feed my plants, I feed my soil & keep it at peek levels of micronutrients & micro beasties... look at it this way, I’m not trying to play god & have the arrogance that I know better than nature... I build natural soils on steroids & my plants decide what they want. Everything is there in balance with short term, long term, & available nutrients. Live worms are great at telling you how the soil is, they will leave or die if it’s not organic so what does that tell you?

I wish you would provide links to some of the vendors you mention such as the place to get the myco gro. You say it so quickly I can’t get the name and especially as it’s not familiar. Just a thought on your videos.

    Humans don't like salt? What?
Yes, humans like salt. Humans rely on salt. Human history has been dependent on salt.
Sorry but I can't watch a video by someone that would say something like this.

Mycorrhiza are beneficial for in ground trees. Where the roots are not long enough to mine for water and minerals. I found potted trees do not have that problems. Everything should be there in the pot and if you grow figs you know how roots take over the pot. Great for the garden though.

The middle number is phosphorus not potassium you might want to edit. The last number ‘K’ is potassium.

Not to be overly critical but your videos would be much more enjoyable if you were less gabby and to the point. I get bored with people ramble on and do not get to the point. Fair content but could be much shorter and enjoyable to watch.

Please help me understand this better.
You have the osmocote product but you are not going to use it?
The Jacks product seems to have a real lot of phosphorous but you mentioned potassium only.
My understanding of the most inexpensive dolomite lime is that it is slow acting compared to prilled products or hydrated lime.
I am sorry but I am not any wiser......I think.

Ross, What alternative can I use for fish oil fertilizer 511? It stinks, draws animals and is not environmentally correct. Thanks for all your knowledge.

Ross, excellent video because I got so confused with everything that is out there and everyone swearing this is best and that is best when I first started. I try to get a slow releasing fertilizer for the NPK. I suppliment it with a micronutrient 1-2 times per season and some Fish emulsion/seaweed during the growing season in my pots. In ground, I try to just use manure or compost of some sort and some organic micronutrients such as azomite. I use inorganic in pots because to me, there is just not dirt in a pot for the microorganism to break down for the plant.
