Entering the game, this music really stuck with me - It sets the mood perfectly for the game.
Since I also play the Harp a bit, I tried something different this time.
I added strings, choir and some ambient layers with my Roli keyboard.

And apparently it was originally called "A Moment's Peace"? Never knew that, until I went searching for 'Souls of Fire' by Yuji Takenouchi. Or maybe that was an alternate name given to the piece? Though, I know that, at the least, Souls of Fire was a fan name for the piece.... Still, that is fascinating.

This tune is what immediately hooked me into Dark Souls, I instantly connected with it and for me it encompasses everything about the Souls Series. The OST for all the games is so well thought out and epic. The storytelling is so downplayed in a traditional gaming sense, but is so rich and everywhere if you know where to look. In the item descriptions, in the environment and in the music, in the character models... So so well done.

With the addition of the piano, it gives one the impression/vibe of a revised version of the original theme but meant for Dark Souls II. There is a particularly melancholic joy to it, if that makes sense. Exquisitely done!

I love how much simple subtle mood setting things can alter the first hand impressions of things. Like, you donøt even play the game yet, it's just the menu, but first time you play this game, this sets you up. BRilliant performance btw.

this honors and is so authentic to the real, true nature of dark souls so much i think. oh so beautiful, and when you are entering the experience you feel unsure and curious, but you know you're going into something somber, but you don't know what that is yet, you don't know how much you will hurt and grieve and what kind of danger you will enter, but you feel it, you sense it, and then when you enter the game again, you are still struck with the beauty but now you understand what the created the gloom of what makes it so beautiful and complex. almost like this song is more dark souls than the song they made for the base game. i want a mod that plays this specific version of the song at the titlescreen no matter what

Everytime I see the harp parts I see the silhouette as an elite knight set armor person resting at a bonfire. Your synthesizer is spot on by the way, the samples used sounded exactly like the game! Did you program the sounds in yourself? ( I don’t know how to ask exactly what I’m trying to ask xD ;( ). I have a Roland xv5050 synth box that seems to have the exact same samples they used for :HALO combat evolved *soundtrack*
