      At 32:11 JT got on Justin for not confirming the blocking scheme. During the live telecast, you can hear Justin yelling “Lucas Lucas” before the snap. One of the announcers called it out..I don’t think anyone but Lucas was to blame on that play. Sometimes you can do the right thing but you can’t overcome other people messing up.

    The 3rd and 3 play at 28:25, I believe that was the play Justin was yelling "Luke 55 Luke 55". The broadcasters called out that Fields was yelling who needed to be blocked and Lucas Patrick missed it. I could be wrong, but I remember this play and hearing him yelling.

      Us bears fans need to realize it’s pretty much a win win as long as they wise up and get an offensive mind in the building at head coach. Either we stick with fields who may not have the incredible upside that Caleb has, but he’s still shown that he can be damn good and have like 6 first rounds in the next 2 drafts, or draft Caleb with several firsts to fill the rest of the holes. The line is good, our receiving core is solid and will be good next year, defense is good. Coaching is lacking but if that changes we can be scary either way

    The 4th down play at 52:00 was never supposed to be snapped. They were trying to get the defense to jump. If they jump the center snaps and they run all go routes. They ran this same play vs Detroit on a 4th and long. It was a TD pass to DJ Moore. At least I think it was vs Detroit. The “full panic mode” going on here I think is because it caught Fields off guard that the ball was actually snapped.

    @davidlondon9242 4 месяца назад +4

    I love the kid. But I do see the flaws that JT has highlighted in Justin's play. If I could ask JT some questions I would ask:
    1. You talk about JF constantly drifting backwards in his drop backs. Is that a symptom of his lack of faith in the O Line? It seems there's a consistent tendency of him bailing on reads/plays because every game this season there have been multiple plays of unblocked rushers getting in the backfield immediately. Is his drifting a form of pass rush PTSD?
    2. Can this be coached out of a player with more solid line play or does this get cooked into a player and therefore can't be removed.
    3. Have you seen any QBs that have overcome these types of issues within their game and performed on an elite level?
    4. If it's possible to coach a QB out of these habits how long does it typically take? Can you see vast improvement of this type in an offseason or two?
    While I have generally liked the moves that Poles has made as a GM, he has made two errors that stand out to me. The smaller of the two was trading for Claypool, but I can understand the motivation. The biggest mistake has clearly been hiring Getsy as OC. Not to take a dump on Getsy, I just think it was foolish to think that a former QB coach for Aaron Rodgers was going to come in and learn how to be an OC and develop a raw talent like JF simultaneously, while the team was scarce in talent and quality personnel. I just don't think Getsy has acquired the football experience and knowledge to develop an offense that is suited for JF and the team's talent and it is somewhat too much to ask him to do it well considering all of the circumstances.

      Thanks for the reply! That's good to know. We just need to get the right OC with the knowledge and experience to coach him up. My hunch is that he can be great if given the right the coaching. I'm hoping his career could be similar to Steve Young in that he endured a lot of losing early on in TB, but due to great coaching he was able to turn things around. I just hope he doesn't have to go to another team to do it.

    I thought Fields' footwork was something that drew JT to him as a prospect. On the miss to the FB at 20:42, that FB turned _away from the pass_ to look back at Justin. If he had turned upfield instead of turning back toward the backfield, Fields' throw would have hit him in the hands. The way he ran his route made that throw look way worse than it was. But that's why he's a blocking FB and not usually running routes on passing plays.

    @TheQBSchool Thank you for putting these videos together! Ignorant question regarding JF1's footwork: Is this on the QB Coach to work with him on improving the footwork? Or JF1 have an option to find a personal coach to assist with his footwork? I'm confused why this isn't worked on everyday/week?! Would be nice if we could see JF1 improving his footwork....

    People thinking bears are going to keep fields are delusional. They are just emotionally attached to Fields. All cause they said he would change the franchise, and he hasn’t. And they want the bears to wait forever just so they can have some vindication for their awful draft pick.
    They were projected 7.5, they got him a OT and moore, and his numbers are about the exact same. Another WR like Harrison isnt going to do anything but make fields look better than he is, and will force bears to pay him even more. Running QBs don’t need 2 WR1s, they are 1 read and run.
    And Williams is better, it’s that simple. I could see drafting a WR if fields was as good as love. Look at that WR core Love plays with, if anybody needs more weapons and a better O line it’s him.

    Here’s my question after watching the video. Has Justin always fallen backwards at the top of his drop? Specifically at OSU where he had a good offensive line?
    Basically, do you think this could be a bad habit related to the unit in front of him (where the C has been either a turnstile or pushed into his lap for 3 straight years), or has he always done this?
