Mr. Prine was a true treasure. From "Hello in There" to "Let's Talk Dirty in Hawaiian". All his songs are wonderful. As are you two. Thanks for sharing! ☮❤🎶
I love that you two are interested in some of the older sland sayings of our language. I love old sayings. My grandmother had many and they always made me smile. They conveyed so much with few words.... just like John Prine. ;)
John Prine was an American musical gem with more than a satirical twist. Your spoken English and understanding of it in this humorous song is impressive. I so enjoyed your reaction, TY.
First, and most importantly, I have to congratulate you both for being the most thoughtful, insightful reactors on "The Tube" ............I can always count on you to provide meaningful commentary........now, regarding the late John Prine (R.I.P.) : one only has to hear so many current artists say that John was their musical 'hero' to understand this man's importance.
John Prine was a master wordsmith. His songs can illicit a whole host of emotions. For a deeply profound song of his I'd suggest "Hello in There", the message is poignant, reminding us to be kind to the elderly. I met him once many years ago, and he was a kind and funny guy. I cried when he passed away. But I'm grateful he left us with so many great songs.
Thank you so much for this song. I discovered John Prine a year ago after a tip from Canada. A very good artist who visited Sweden at least once. You are happy and impressed by his songs and interpretations.
John Prine is one of the great storytellers out there. I may suggest my favorite storyteller that I know you would like and that is Harry Chapin. I consider him to be a genius with his use of words to write a song.
Check out Paradise, Sam Stone, Lake Marie (Live), Fish and Whistle and Long Monday for starters. John’s rabbit hole is deep and satisfying. One of the all time great songwriters.
Love this song One of my favourites by john prine. also really like: Sabu visits the twin cities alone. Oh though that one is a bit short if you ask me, but still really good though(:
I have bought several of his albums but his first one is really special. For years whenever I was on a long road trip in early morning I loved to put on that tape just after daylight and singalong while driving.
You could exclusively do John Prine for the next two weeks and not even scratch the surface. "Paradise." "Sam Stone." "Your Flag Decal Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore." "Dear Abby." "Hello In There." "Boundless Love." "Angel from Montgomery." "Jesus the Missing Years." "Illegal Smile." Seriously.
I'm with Keith...Hello In There and Let's Talk Dirty In Hawaiian. However, Hello In There is very sad. If you worked with the elderly it will touch you.
So glad my two favorite reactors are doing my favorite artist. Not only was he considered on of the great songwriters but he was an absolutely humble and great human being. He has a great following of devoted life long fans . You should try "In Spite of Ourselves" for another of his lighthearted songs. I personally love "Donald & Lidia" or "Blue Umbrella" among others.
There will never be another John Prine! But people like you are getting his music out to thousands of people. People who will thank you forever!
John Prine was a wonderful wordsmith. Love the humanity he interposed in his music. ❤. Thanks for sharing your reactions.
One of my all-time favorite songwriters. His songs will make you laugh and cry...sometimes during the same song. 😂

More than a few John Prine songs are about imperfect people who have found and loved each other.
John can tug on your heartstrings in more ways than you can imagine

His song In Spite of Ourselves with Iris Demit ? I think. Funny and wonderful
This is a new song for me. It was fun to hear.
One of the greatest songwriters ever. There are only a handful who are his equals -- Bob Dylan, Towns Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen, Neil Young.
"Hello in there"...excellent...
One of John’s songs from the ‘90’s is ‘New Train’…it’s a banger!
You should check out John and Iris Demint singing In Spite Of Ourselves. A really funny song.
If you make playlists of our three vocal wonderers, Aurora, Angelina and Sissel, half of Norway will subscribe to you.
Btw. The best song by Dire Straights is Private Investigation.
You should react to Townes Van Zandt's 'Poncho and Lefty', I promise you, you would not regret it. Bloody brilliant song!
A great duet John and bonnie rait Angel from Montgomery
