How to Wear Heavy Earrings

  • I love to wear big earrings but sometimes these beauties rip my ear a new one...and it hurts. Plus, over time, wearing heavy earrings can cause droopy earlobes and nobody wants that! I've been using these two tricks to make wearing heavy earrings comfortable. All you need is some surgical tape, thread, and a bobby pin.

    Indian earrings often have a sahara kaan, a small chain that comes with the earrings. The chains have tiny metal loops at either end. You tread one loop over the earring pin that goes through your ear lobe piercing, and the other loop gets pulled up toward your scalp (like in the video), and a pin is inserted and fastened inside your hair. It works if you have long, thick hair, but if you have an updo, you need to make sure that the chain matches the earring (they usually do), because you can sometimes see it. Also, there are specific gold chains you can put on. The sewing thread is ok, but if the earrings are huge (and sometimes Indian earrings are super big), then you're better off with a more sturdy chain.

    I am in shock. I love the thread idea. I’m really learning a lot from all of your videos. Thank you so much. I’m a retired dancer/choreographer so I appreciate helping me strengthen my ankles again.

    Genius! You saved my life. I ordered earrings for a wedding to make my “ordinary dress” suitable for formal wedding. They were unbearably HEAVY!! I'm an 80’s child, and used to big hoops.. but transitioned for the sake of my ears. Yay! I can wear my BIG EARRINGS AGAIN!!

    • @SuchAClassicGirl-dx2ip
      @SuchAClassicGirl-dx2ip Год назад

      You can do similar using a (smaller) piece of bandaid rather than that large piece of tape. Honestly it seems like one of those nearly invisible acne spot patches would be perfect

    Do the bobbin pins work on fish hook earrings as well

    • @CrystalClues
      @CrystalClues  4 года назад

      FeeFee 86 TBH I haven’t tried it with a fish hook earring but if you test it out I’d love to hear how it works! I think it could lift some of the weight off but if you’re going to be a lot of moving (ie head shaking or hair flipping) it might slip out

      The tape I suggest you use is medical grade and less likely to give you an allergic reaction (and actually sticks to human skin versus other tapes that are more designed for paper or surfaces that don't sweat) - but why don't you try it with the tape you have and report back?
