Great you snagged one, leon! Picked up my first 700 this summer, with a throwaway poulan, both in the cases. Needed tank gasket and cap re-do, (Thanks, leon). I could pass this thing off as NOS, its that clean. And at $75 for the pair, im one HAPPY camper. I must he living right or something.
Good score..and yeah even here in Edmonton, people must be huffing gas when they try to sell older saws, occasionally there is still a deal on marketplace or kijiji, but not often I find the best deals are from other youtubers , or just word of mouth
Maybe it was suckling bar oil out of the impulse oiler, I had to moto seal my 4 case bolts and put new o rings in mine, boy oh boy new old stock piston and rings and the compression is unbelievable the torque is amazing she ain't the fastest but she's steady!!!😊
Well you didn't let us know if the flapper is still in the muffkin . I picked up two 700 a while back already restored one , one still had a whole flapper and the other the flapper was half missing .
I bought several 10 10 automatics off EBay and the carburetors were still good on all of them. Cheap

Hah! Yeah the muffler is actually complete. This saw didn't run enough to snap the muffler reed off!
