Rita is a fantastic drag queen, it doesn't matter what people say. She is a canadian drag legend and is now the host of her own franchise. She knows what she is doing! go Rita
What the hateful and entitled teenage audience who hound Rita don't understand is that she is a seasoned and talented professional. She is very booked and appreciated in the real world, far from the digital sphere they inhabit and think represent everyday experience.
Personality-wise, I think she'll make a great host. I never love it when the host only has a language connection to the country (or even continent!) they're judging in but I'll certainly check it out.
Interesting. I saw somewhere else she said she auditioned and got the role. But this is the first time I've heard that evidently there was Belgian queens who auditioned AND according to Rita queens from other franchises auditioned as well. I'm curious who else auditioned? There is no need to be running around whining about production or bts tea unless it is to genuinely help a situation. Just keep it cute an an opportunity will come to you like with most RuGirls.
Yes! Jimbo can remind Rita about her “thirsty” wigs! Sorry, I still don’t see why Rita won the hosting gig, she was not anything great. But I could say the same about Bklyn Hts! I guess it comes down to who is available because the actual winners are busy working, lol!!!

Yes, approximately 60% have Dutch as mother tongue, 40% have French, and less then 1% have German. DR Belgique has chosen to only focus on the French speaking part of the country, which is a pitty.
Idk why but for me Québécois French accent reminds me little bit of when I was learning Chinese with the way they pronounces their Ts and Ds that sounds like Ts/Tz and Ds/Dz. Granted, the more neutral accent is more noticeable in the promos.
Drag Belguim should of waited another 2-3 years before making the show...feel like its just undercooked and too raw to have its own franchise. Last thing we want is a boring, uninspired season because they want to rush it
Not the biggest fan of Rita but to be fair she did get to the finale on both of her seasons and did bag a few wins in the process. Let’s not judge hosts by how good they’d do in drag race, Nicky Doll was an early out yet she did fine hosting France, and we all know RuPaul wouldn’t even win her own show. Judging and competing itself are two completely different things.
Thank you Lulu for going to the trouble of translating this for non-francophones and posting it. The effort is appreciated @dee_lulu I’m enjoying DRBelgique so far! Rita is doing a great job.
I suppose it had to be shared given how there's no news in the Anglosphere regarding it and it was a question a lot of people seem to have had since last year's announcement.
@@dee_lulu it’s certainly very helpful in that respect, but it didn’t have to be you, and the effort you’ve gone to to provide a proper translation rather than the auto one that often generates inaccurate subtitles is appreciated. Rita is an experienced host and drag mother: hosting was what she was most know for prior to DR, as I understand it. She’s also a fierce competitor, and lived in Belgium for years whilst studying, so is an obvious candidate for consideration. She’s part of a panel, not the sole judge, and much like Brook Lynn, is the face of the franchise, not really the decision maker, as production will certainly have their say too. The audition process makes sense. Really, the important thing is whether the Belgian francophone community, and especially the drag community within that, are happy with their version of DR. What the non-French speaking, anglophone fans in the US and elsewhere think is largely irrelevant, imo, and yes, that includes me. So far though, I’m finding DR Belgique is really entertaining and think Rita is doing a great job.
