    2. Weirdest thing out here: pedestrians here don't check for traffic; they are conditioned that traffic will check for them. Not all of us are from here and I've accidently almost run over a few folk and given myself a minor heart attack in the process. Back home pedestrians make eye contact or at least look at the automobile before walking across. Here, not so much.
