@Garrisonpea I mowvmine out after the last frost. I like to have tnem 6in tall or taller, then I plant at least 1/2 of the plant. The tomato plant will root out all parts of the plant that is under the soil. The more root the healther the plant will be. Hope this helps

@HighPlainsGardening = The reason that any plant gets leggy is they are trying to get to the light move your light closer to the plants I keep mine from 6 to 12 inches it also helps to put a small fan on the plants to have them move in the breeze that helps them grow stronger. If you haven't transplanted them to a bigger pot plant them in a larger pot and just a little deeper that might also help. Good luck. Hope this helps

@GeorgiaBoi70 I have always just planted above the root ball. I don't think that the cucumber will grow roots like the tomato will, they are in different family’s. I sure would try before I just toss them out.

This is my first year growing tomatoes from seed. How big should my plants be before I can plant then in my garden? They are outside most of the time, the weather has been warm. Thanks!

Can a cucumber seedling be transplanted up to the leaves, like a tomato? Mine have gotten leggy and started to limp over. I would hate to lose 30 seedlings.
