- In 1972-73, Arsenal were eyeing up the possibility of another Double, just as they had done two years before. But a shock defeat to Sunderland in their FA Cup semi-final a week prior to this game meant that all of their attention was now on the league. As it turned out, they were eventually pipped to the title by Bill Shankly's Liverpool. Brian Moore is the commentator.

2.40 Big Pat one handed catch no gloves either, how's that for confidence in a local derby.
He used to catch them and as he landed, throw the ball to the winner in one movement. The greatest.
Wingers in those days stayed on the touchline.
Martin Peters was ahead of his time and probably the best player England ever had.
Nodded down to him by the great Gilzean 2.02
I wonder why that Ralph Coates hairstyle never took off?
vordman Sir Bobby tried but, in the end, failed miserably!
You couldn't imagine today's players looking like Gilzean or Coates.
@@GuyFawkes15 No, Gilzean doesn't look a day over 60.
Those were the days when keepers could catch the ball, refs let players tackle and the atmosphere was special. I was there as a young lad and fast forward to 2001 I worked at Watford the first day the gaffer GT takes me on a tour of the training ground I walk into the dressing room and sitting there is Big Pat, we shook hands and exchanged pleasantries I passed my first test.
Perryman nearly hit me in the Northbank at 1.55.
Arsenal was robed ! Jennings played a blinder
