- I wanted to change the look on my 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn, so I decided to remove the grill to properly paint it without getting paint in the engine bay.
I will show you guys step by step how to remove it. It’s really easy. I hope you guys enjoy it !

this helped me a TON in understanding how to change the washer pump that tends to "gel up" inside when you use rainx (from what i am told). i have to change mine and have been quoted up to $375 for labor alone to change the entire reservoir. looks like if i remove the grill, there it is.

BEWARE OF THIS VIDEO…..When you take off the white panels like you did at the 2:20 mark, you will break the one way plastic pieces on them. You can’t just pull them out you will break them. Yours are now broke. You didn’t show that in your video

Yup that happened to me. Clips nearest grille on both panels under lights would not come out without breaking. Tried everything with trim removal tools. Pretty demoralizing actually having to break shit.I simply couldn't unclip them cleanly. Great video! I did a similar project replacing my headlights and could not get the facia panels to detach from grill. I struggled with pulling the facia panels forward so that I could remove the 3 bolts on each side. Even after removing it and trying to figure out why it was stuck, the tab where the facia attaches to the grill seemed to have fused together because both surfaces are painted. I just left it for fear of breaking something. Reassembly was no fun either.

Great video with show and tell. I always hear horror stories about the piece below the headlight breaking one of the front clips when trying to pull it out. Good illustration on getting the 1 bolt that you have to move the wheel liner out of the way. Awesome job my man!!

@@shoobiedoubie6871 I'm going to be replacing the lower grill with the honeycomb version to mount a 30" light bar. Do you think it would be easier pulling the grill & coming at it from above instead of fighting it from below? I'm 65 and not much for laying on my back and working over my head and thought that may work out. I'm in no rush and would spend the day and get into it. What are your thoughts?
@@carlmyman great question Carl, I think you’d be better off taking the whole thing apart that way you can run wires comfortably and not have to work off the floor

Good vid man...I have a limited and was thinking about getting the rough country grille LED bars... was hesitant because I've heard of fitment issues with the limited and I didn't want to take on the removal... now I have half of my worries taken care of...
I actually liked the white on both sides of the RAM lettering...I think it would have been cool to leave that white and do the RAM letters in white as well

Good enough, it’s plasti dip. I did a bunch of coats of flat black, and a bunch of glossifier.

..I just wish you would have left it white and just blacked out the ram emblem.....the painted features on these trucks is wjat makes them......I have the hydro blue pearl and I would never dare change it to black.....the white red and hydro blue trucks i think look the sharpest of all.

Automobile engineers deserve a special place in hell for making vehicles 10x more difficult to work on than need be. Reserve spots for executives, too, because I'm sure the overall motive is money, giving the consumer little choice in who can fix/upgrade their already overpriced cars.

@ jesseplz I'm having the same issue. Did you remove the flares? I didn't want to brake the seals.
@@kireecegrant4122 PITA but i was able to put a 8mm socket on the back of the clips holding the flare. This releases the clips and the flare comes off. I only released the first 5 clips.

Thanks for that video. I replaced the Active Grille Shutter behind the grille on my 2019 Ram Laramie and I couldn't remove the trim panels under the lights left and right without breaking the specific clips nearest the grille. Both left and right trim under the lights just wouldn't pop out cleanly with trim tools from front. Also had trim above wheel well that had to come off. Broke some clips there too. Nightmare job. 10 months later the U11E9 error is back and hoping for easier way to access AGS wiring to check for corrosion or whatever might cause the AGS to fail yet again.
