Optimal flight is achieved by combining a 47-degree nose-down angle with a mixture of forward and upward thrust. The sole source of forward propulsion is a small, flat atmospheric thruster positioned within the nose. This thruster's forward thrust is minimal, especially when the nose is pointed upwards or level.
This week's build has been brewing in my mind for a while - a futuristic helicopter! My wife even dared me to keep it completely vanilla, no DLC or mods whatsoever. I'm beyond thrilled with how it turned out! At the end of the video, you'll see an upgraded X2 version to showcase the power of DLC.

That is a cool chopper. I grabbed the blueprint and I'm going to check it out. It looks much smaller than my choppers have been so it looks pretty light which means it should be quick.

just a small problem, turret placement. if it needs to be bent down/up to be able to use its guns effectively (and with risk of shooting itself). whats stopping a ship of equal size not just breaking it in half? (it looks like a very effecient ship with long travel capability without costing a fortune) but i dont think it would hold up against other fighters. im guessing weapons are to TRY to defend itself from other threats.
overall a pretty damn well looking ship but i wouldnt personally use it for combat, maybe putting an ore detector on it and retro-fitting it to try to find useful materials around planets would be pretty good. or perhaps its meant as a scouting ship.
Thank you very much for the comment! Definitely not designed with combat in mind. More focused on the flight experience, and like you said the turrets would be better to try and defend itself. Most of the stuff I build isn't heavily focused on serious combat and the turrets for this were put on near the end when I realized I had space for them on the tail.
I hope you enjoy the ship whether you retro-fit it or just use it as a light patrol/scout vehicle.

@@AegirBuildsAndBeats My only criticism about Infinite's planets is how other planets in the sky don't fade into the atmosphere at all, but otherwise they're really great looking planets.

Haha, you've got a sharp eye! The VI actually stands for Volsung Industries, and the X was just a random letter that sounded cool to start the line. It's funny how the Roman numerals caught your attention though! Glad you like the design and the armament. There should be enough lights. I placed one on each side and it has a forward facing spotlight in the nose.

But the design is so amazing my crew would definitely have to work a deal for a licensed version.

Only real issue I see with this is the gun placement. It can't really shoot forward. I think the ideal position for a cannon would either be beneath the cockpit (which could interfere with landing gear) or in front of the main rotors. Other than tjat, it looks grest!
Thanks for the feedback! The gun placement is intentional. I personally fly in a nose-down flight orientation, which provides the necessary clearance for the gun. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
Bro, dlc = vanilla because it is already in game and made by keen and not by a third party. Its only locked if not bought. But me like the build anyway :)
